Chapter 118: Showdown
Fine silverware stands on a table with slender legs, quietly puffing smoke and whirling. The portraits of the old headmistresses www.biquge.info pen, fun, and pavilion were listening intently in the photograph, even if Phoenix and Dumbledore hadn't said a word yet.
"Congratulations on the success. Dumbledore spoke first, his voice soft, "Curse runes, few people know. β
"In fact, it's Voldemort's magic to protect his Horcruxes," Phoenix said as he stood in front of the window with his back to Dumbledore, his eyes closed and enjoying the warmth of the sun shining on his body. He held up his hand with the Resurrection Stone, "He used it on the ring, I think this kind of magic script has a lot of versatility, so I looked into it." β
Dumbledore leaned forward slightly, scrutinizing the ring. After coming over for a while, he returned to his original position and sighed.
"It should be expected that, of course, you will be concerned about the Gaunt family in a way. Those protective spells that you passed yourself?"
"Of course not, my father had already cleaned up most of the protective magic, and all that was left was the ring. I think if he knew, he might have helped me out. "The Trichamp is an important item of our family heritage, and every patriarch has it. Since we can't get the Elder Wand back, we can only think of another way. However, I don't mean to kill you now. β
He turned his head to look at Dumbledore's clear blue eyes, and when he heard the word Elder Wand, he clearly had a certain change. What was recalled in his eyes, remembrance, remorse, disgust, Phoenix couldn't figure out.
"I really didn't take into account the importance of Potter. β
"You know a lot. Dumbledore said heavily, as if he hadn't recovered from his memories.
"More than you think. β
"Severus, Severus helped you?" Dumbledore regained his wise gaze, sharp as a knife. "How did you persuade him, I think I have unbreakable reasons to trust him. β
"Isn't it better to be able to see your lover with your own eyes than to protect your lover's eyes, to see it, to touch it, and to live together. "Phoenix said it lightly, as if it were a trivial matter.
A portrait with an expression of disbelief.
"There's no magic that brings the dead back to life. Dumbledore said solemnly, then glanced at the Resurrection Stone, "That's just an illusion, Severus won't indulge in it." β
"I didn't say give him the Resurrection Stone," Phoenix sneered. It seems that Dumbledore knew a lot about the Three Hallows, and the rumors are likely to be true, Grindelwald had a deep friendship with Dumbledore, and they had an in-depth exchange with the Deathly Hallows and tried to find them.
"It's not as complicated or advanced as you think, or it's against nature. Phoenix walked slowly towards Dumbledore and held out a hand, "Water, it's going to disappear." But it doesn't mean that it's really gone, it's just a form that is invisible to the naked eye. As long as the conditions are right, it will turn into liquid water again. The real difficulty is how to keep the water liquid forever. β
A drop of water appeared on the palm of his hand, but it was so bright and conspicuous, and it was simply dazzling in the sunlight. The water droplets gradually evaporate, then converge and become water droplets again.
"What about the resurrection, which will eventually return to the world of the dead. Severus was willing to pay the price, it was a more reasonable trade, and he would have chosen me. Phoenix's eyes were fixed on the droplets, and his words were soft, "Do you have anyone who has hope of resurrection?"
For a moment, Dumbledore seemed to blurt out. But he restrained himself, and his lips closed tremblingly.
"Peverell is the devil. β
"Don't say that about us, not all of my family are obsessed with exploring the mysteries of death. At least in modern times, there are very few of them, and souls are not fun. As far as I know, the last person to do this was Rezdis. β
Dumbledore would naturally have thought that what he said was recorded in his family books. But Dumbledore was also right, the world really hadn't invented resurrection yet. The theory that Phoenix is talking about is not the result of thousands of years of research by the Peverell family.
"Master of Azkaban, I have heard that the Ministry of Magic has been keen to know the details of this man. The Department of Occult Affairs was interested in his research, but unfortunately it was too far away from us in the fifteenth century. Let's talk about what's close at hand. β
"Fortunately, compared to these academic and moral matters, Voldemort's threat is imminent. Phoenix pulled out his chair and sat across from Dumbledore, one hand propped up his head, and sat crooked in the chair.
"I have a plan against Voldemort, perhaps faster and more controllable than yours. β
"But it also means greater casualties. Judging from your arrangements at the Ministry of Magic, you don't mind how many people die, as long as you can kill the people you want to kill. Dumbledore's tone was not reproachful or annoyed, but rather calm, as expected.
"To resolve a war quickly, heavy casualties are unavoidable. Phoenix stared straight into that piercing gaze without any uneasiness, "Especially when encountering a difficult enemyβ"
"I'm more concerned about why you're involved in this fight than that. You could have walked away, my friends were either neutral or Death Eaters. If Voldemort fails, you can also take them a hand. Miss Granger, I think it's yours for a long time, and she's willing to go with you anywhere, like Durmstrang or Beauxbatons. Why risk your own life, when you're in trouble?"
That's why Dumbledore spoke openly to Phoenix. He had realized that important people around Harry and around him had been taken over by Phoenix. Nothing can be hidden from him, so it is better for them to sit down and talk.
Phoenix narrowed his eyes slightly.
"The International Secrets Act cannot last forever, and we will soon have to look at this important situation. He decided to tell the truth, "If the result is not satisfactory, there will be chaos and commotion that no one wants." Voldemort will be the conglomeration of all the dark sides of the wizarding world. Dark creatures, dark wizards, cowardly and incompetent people, will gather under his command, not just in England, but in the whole world, I think he has the power to do so. At that point, the situation is even more difficult to manage. β
"How can you be sure?" Dumbledore asked, obviously confused.
"The wizarding world has developed until now, and it is not for one or two people to figure it out. But what is the matter of two worlds, it requires huge resources to make predictions, population, skill level, social background and so on. We have an agency that takes care of this, and in the face of such a situation, I naturally hope that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible. β
Phoenix sighed.
"I have to sacrifice the English wizards for the sake of the other wizards in Europe and the world. If the worst happens, our Ministry of Magic will be able to do its best. You avoided the duel with Grindelwald and caused turmoil in Europe for many years. I don't know why, but I try to contain the danger as much as possible. He stared at a delicate silver egg, "Luckily, I've found most of his Horcrux clues. Destroyed the ring, the diary, a locket and a mug trail that is being tracked. β
"My question is, can you guess how many Horcruxes Voldemort had?" (To be continued.) )
