Chapter 1: The Last Chance
The howling cold wind of the night whipped incessantly, everything they encountered. There was still a window in the manor in the distance www.biquge.info the pen "Fun" pavilion, and the faint light of the fire flickered. There was no boundless darkness or flying snow all around, and the faint light was like an exit in a desperate situation.
A figure takes Phoenix on a difficult trek through the snow.
"These snows have traces of magic that can detect the incoming enemy, Egyptian technology. I think they already knew we were coming, and the wind had lessened. The figure's thick leather cloak was covered with snow, and he walked towards the manor.
"How many people are there on the manor? Mr. Rich Bobin. β
"Many, Mr. Peverell's die-hard members are entrenched here, including family members and hired people, probably a few hundred. β
"Hire?" Phoenix took off his hood, the snow was already much lighter, "the Polish Ministry of Magic didn't protect him?"
"I don't know, we usually contact Mr. Peverell directly, and this is my first time at this estate. Melinda's brother also took off his hood. He was so rugged that it was hard to believe that they were brother and sister.
They walked straight through the gate, the seemingly impenetrable iron door turning into a puff of smoke as they passed, and then turning back into its prototype. A few children on the lawn, dressed in thick dragon fur coats, giggled and chased butterflies.
The scene of the four seasons in the manor did not touch the two in the slightest. They walked down the cobblestone path to the door, where a wizard with a mustache watched them from far and near.
He said coldly, "Please show your wand." β
Phoenix handed him the wand without the slightest hesitation. Richie's heart tightened, knowing that this was his sworn enemy's lair, and that they could hand over their wands so easilyβthey could have done it right now.
But nothing happened, and the wand was placed on a brass instrument behind the door, which began to vibrate slightly. A narrow strip of parchment spat out quickly from a hole in the bottom. The wizard tore the paper off and looked at it.
"Welcome, Mr. Peverell. He made a gesture of please, and then, regardless of whether they followed or not, walked alone along the heavy Persian carpet around a stone screen on the right side.
The hallway seemed to lead to a room, and they didn't see any doors or windows on the way, and there was a Pevrel family tree on the wall. The portraits of family members on the tapestry are either waving enthusiastically at Phoenix, ignoring them indifferently, and more with solemn expressions.
The wizard led them to a wooden door carved with Kemeramon, and with a few knocks, the door opened of its own accord. The whole room was brightly lit and the fireplace was blazing. The seven people on the opposite side had serious faces and did not move.
Without waiting for Phoenix to take his seat, he spoke.
"Do you really think you've won? A middle-aged man sitting directly across from Phoenix saw Phoenix and smiled, "We are much stronger than you think, and there are many of us." β
"Really? It's surprising. Phoenix said calmly, "You know what I'm here for?"
Richie said it clearly. We-" An old man with a beard on the left-hand side was rudely interrupted.
"We can't accept handing over the family to you, a furry child. The man stood up in a rage, and was pulled down by the men on either side of him.
"Either way, you can't deny that you're too young to rule the whole family. We believe that we should leave experienced people to manage it for the time being. "A person speaks softly, with a natural affinity. "When you have experienced enough things, have the ability and prestige, we will naturally give you back what you deserve. β
"What do you say about my father's business, you have nothing to do with it?" said Phoenix, with unconcealed anger.
"It's complicated. We should have put the family together first, and the entire wizarding world is facing a major threat-" the middle-aged man said unnaturally.
"I know what the wizarding world is facing. But that's not a reason for you to do whatever you want," Phoenix sneered, "Klaus colluded with African wizards to cut off international trade, but I don't see any benefit to us. β
"Then you should know that we have to act and be prepared, and you are playing with fire when dealing with those Asians, which proves that it is best and proper to have Klaus take over the family. β
"Oh, so that's the reason why you're working with Africa to kill your own people?" Phoenix was under the table, his fists clenched, "Don't forget, how many of them were killed in order to weaken Africa." β
"That's- it was the Muggles, it had nothing to do with us. An old man with a full beard said uneasily.
Phoenix ignored his self-deceptive excuses. Richie was restless in his position, and they seemed to be quite loyal to Klaus, and if they fell apart, he could only pray that Phoenix would be ready.
"Forget it, it's useless to talk about it. Phoenix put his fingers on the table with his hands interlaced, "I'm giving you a chance, a chance to keep you and your family alive." Tell me, where is Klaus? I am not guilty of the past, and you can still enjoy the status and power you have now. β
The room was quiet only firewood burning, and there was a slight crackling sound, and a few people who didn't speak shook their bodies quite consciously, and the middle-aged man glared at them.
"Without further ado, I don't know why you had the audacity to come to see us alone, but you did give us a chance," he smiled slyly, "a chance to make us soar." Peverell, I won't forget your help, Mr. Bobin. β
Richie smiled reluctantly, looking more like a toothache.
"Listen, maybe Detreville, Bilo, Gustav they believe you can do it. Damn, can you not ask everyone to think that it is time to make a change. A man was a little angry, his body trembled slightly, and he slowly got up and drew his wand. A few others also took out their wands and stood on guard.
"I never asked everybody to believe me. Phoenix's expression was uncertain at this time, "Everyone has their own choice, and I regret that you choose to die." β
As soon as the words ended, the atmosphere in the room immediately became extremely tense, and several people raised their wands and pointed at Phoenix.
"Hehe, you think. You alone can deal with us? I really think that you can do a few 'earth-shattering' things and not take anyone seriously. The middle-aged man took the lead in breaking the atmosphere, with a strong sense of irony.
"Then let's see who is, the arrogant one. Phoenix slammed under the table, drew his wand, and slammed it in two. A small golden phoenix flew out of the core of the staff, and a lilac spell enveloped everyone inside, forming a barrier.
The men's spell blew up the table, but it was too late.
The middle-aged man stood up in horror and pointed at Phoenix tremblingly.
"You're not him!"
"Of course I'm not, old fellow. Your Majesty has been merciful and has given you a chance to live, but you do not intend to receive this gift. Empty-handed, Phoenix stood up and straightened his robe.
"Now wait for death in peace. He pulled Richie up and walked through the barrier. (To be continued.) )
