Chapter 17: I Know Magic

Phoenix felt that the summer vacation was going by too quickly, and it was the day of school in the blink of an eye.

He drew up a list of invitations to start the study group in the new semester or third year. At the same time, the paper finally made some progress, detailing the differences between magical and non-magical creatures, and the potential for these differences to be harmful to wizards during their transformation.

"There's a letter from school, Master Phoenix. A house-elf with big, bat-like ears appeared at his feet. Watson has been busy lately, and Phoenix has only seen him a few times in a month. There were quite a few Death Eaters who were difficult to approach, such as Severus Snape, Hogwarts Potions Professor, and Head of Slytherin. Igor Karkarov became the principal of Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Watson didn't have to investigate the Death Eaters who were sent to Azkaban, because the people who could be sent to Azkaban were Voldemort's fanatical diehards.

The letter lists the new books he will be using this year.

Second-graders read:

Standard Spells, Level 2 by Miranda Goshawk

"Breaking with a Female Ghost" by Gilderoy Lockhart

Travelling with Ghouls by Gilderoy Lockhart

"Vacation with the Dominatrix" by Gilderoy Lockhart

It was full of Lockhart's books, and he wasn't sure if his books were available in the library at home. Because the titles of these books sound like biographies or novels, not spell books at all. It took him two days to make sure that there wasn't a single book about Lockhart in his library, so he wrote to his friends and invited them to go shopping in Diagon Alley.

Phoenix and Melinda sit in the ice cream parlor eating vanilla-flavored ice cream, Melinda tells him some interesting things about his summer vacation, and waits for Draco and his dad while eating.

"Look, your girlfriend. Melinda said to Phoenix with a grin, gesturing at Hermione and a slightly nervous middle-aged couple behind her. They had just come out of the Leaky Cauldron.

"Well, I mean. Isn't my girlfriend in front of my eyes?" Phoenix wasn't fooled, but he still stepped forward to say hello.

"Hello, Hermione. Did you get my letter?"

"Hello, Phoenix. Yes, I spent the whole summer doing my homework. Hermione looked a little nervous when she saw Phoenix and Melinda together, or maybe it was because her parents were behind her.

"Don't worry, I'm going to look at it for a year to make sure that the invitees have enough learning ability, after all, what we learn will be very comprehensive and difficult. Are they your parents?"

"Yes, Mom and Dad. That's what I'm telling you, Phoenix Peverell. Somehow, Hermione deliberately didn't introduce Melinda, and she didn't look at Hermione at all.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Granger. ”

"Hello, Mr. Peverell. My Hermione has been talking about you all summer. Mr. Granger held out his hand in restraint.

"Nope. Hermione retorted with a blushing face.

"Where are you going?"

"Shall we go to Gringotts to exchange money?"

"Well, I'm waiting for Draco. See you at the Blotted Bookstore in a moment. ”

"Okay, I'll see you later. ”

When they were far away, Melinda said, "Why don't you go with your little sweetheart?" ”

"No kidding, you're my little sweetheart. It's polite to meet and say hello, isn't it?"

"Oh, why didn't I get your invitation?" Melinda finally turned her head and asked viciously.

"I'm going to start a study group, and it's not a joke. And your potion level, I already know very well. Phoenix's smile faded and he took on a serious face.

"Let's go to the bookstore first. I see more and more people. ”

Instead of waiting for Hermione, Draco came first.

"My dad went buy me a light wheel 2001. That's the new broomstick of the year, and Halo 2000 is already behind-" Draco began to gush on and on as soon as they met, in fact he had said throughout the summer that he was going to join the varsity team and beat Potter's Gryffindor team to the ground. Phoenix decided it might as well keep him interested in dragons.

"Why do you always want to do it with him, it's not wise right now. ”

"Be quiet, it's noisy enough. And you've been repeating this conversation ten times. A group of middle-aged witches chirped and argued about the position in the queue.

When Gilderoy Lockhart appeared, he screamed. He wore a forget-me-not robe, matching his blue eyes, and a pointed wizard's hat playfully crooked over a curly hair.

A short, grumpy man holding a large black camera jumped up and down to take pictures in front of him. Every time the flash flashes blindly, puffs of purple smoke erupt from the camera.

"Isn't this Harry Potter!" Lockhart shouted as he jumped up.

The crowd moved out of the way, whispering excitedly. Draco's previous look of joy vanished without a trace. Lockhart wrapped one arm tightly around Harry. The audience erupted in applause, and the short man frantically pressed the shutter again and again.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Lockhart still didn't let go of Harry after the photograph, "what an extraordinary moment! I am going to take this wonderful occasion to announce a small matter which I have not said for some time. ”

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that this September, I will be the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. ”

"Holy. I heard my father say that he was just a name, and he didn't have any skills. Phoenix had to speak in Melinda's ear, and the crowd applauded.

"Are you jealous that he's more handsome than you? He's famous, and he's doing a lot of things. ”

"What's the use of being more handsome than me, I'm still a child. Phoenix shifted the subject, "Look at them going head-to-face." ”

"Ahhh "Draco's father, Lucius, was in front of Mr. Weasley just in time.

"Lucius. Mr. Weasley nodded coldly.

"I heard that my brother is very busy with official business, so many raids, I think they paid you overtime. As he spoke, he reached into the cauldron of his daughter Ginny, and pulled a tattered copy of the Elementary Transfiguration Guide from between the new, shiny Lockhart books.

"It seems that no, if you can't even get a good pay, what's the good of being a scum among wizards?"

Mr. Weasley's face was redder than Ron and Ginny's.

"We have very different ideas about what the scum of wizards is, Malfoy. He said.

"Of course," Lucius' gaze fell on the Grangers. "Look at the friends you've made, Weasley—I thought your family had fallen to the limit. ”

With a thud, Ginny's cauldron flew out. Mr. Weasley lunged at Lucius, knocking him into a bookshelf, dozens of thick spell books falling on their heads, the Weasley twins' heckling shouts, Mrs. Weasley's screams, and the chaotic crowd all thrown together. More books fell off the shelves.

"Good work, gentlemen. The clerk shouted.

Eden deftly flew behind Mr. Weasley, his claws grabbing his collar and widening the distance between him and Lucius, neither of whom could reach the other.

"No, little girl—hold your book—it's the best thing your dad can give you. ”

He waved to Draco and rushed out the door.

"Hey, how did they go. I'm trying to get them to pull out their wands and fight. Phoenix said regretfully.

"Why are you like this?" said Melinda, incredulous.

"Anyway, we're watching the fun, no matter how much trouble they cause - don't look at me like that, their family is very powerful anyway, and the most they can do is fine. ”
