Act XXIII
The Elven Court was much bigger than Lawson had imagined.
The first thing they entered was the west gate of the Elven Court, which was said to be the gate, but in fact that area was just a suburb guarded by patrols.
The Elven Court is roughly divided into three areas.
The outermost part is an untouched primeval forest, an area where many ancient legends of flora and fauna live, guarded by patrol guards.
In the middle is the living quarters where the elves live, and the quaint brick and stone buildings are stacked in a staggered manner in the woods.
The core is the real elven royal court, which is the palace of the elven queen.
"The food here is very special. β
Tia swallowed a small bunch of grapes in one gulp, this is not the traditional dark purple or light green grape, but the orange type, which tastes juicy and sweet, and Tia has already eaten a large pot.
"We believe in harmony with nature, and most of the food is relatively simple and does not have complicated processes. β
The maid on the side said.
She had long light green hair and wore a delicate long dress, and if she was an outsider, she would have been mistaken for an elven nobleman, but in fact she was just a maid sent by Violet to serve the two.
It was said to be a service, but Rosen felt that surveillance was more likely, and so far, except for the rest time at night, this maid had hardly left the two of them, and had been in their sight, which was too deliberate.
"Nolia, do you know where you can find Mithril in the Elven Court?"
Rosen asked, he didn't have to eat, and now he was sitting by the windowsill, holding a book written in ancient script.
"Mithril's words......"
Nolia, the maid, thought for a moment, her dark brown eyes blinking.
"It should be found in the living quarters, where I know there's a blacksmith who is pretty good at crafting weapons and armor. β
She didn't hide anything, she treated Lawson and Tia like a real maid in the past two days, although most of the elves were arrogant by nature, cold and away from the crowd, but in the same way, they were meticulous, quite focused and serious, and there was even an anecdote that elves spent hundreds of years just waiting for a flower to bloom.
"If you two adults want to find the right weapon, I can take you there. β
Mithril was originally ubiquitous in the Divine Dynasty, but during the Great War, most of the Mithril veins were destroyed, and now it is difficult to find them in this world, but the Elven Court has a large area of Mithril veins, enough to mine for thousands of years.
And the method of processing Mithril is also unique to the elves, in the past, having a set of Mithril armor was enough to become a symbol of strength.
In the midst of the Holy War, knights wearing Mithril armor and armed with Mithril swords charged forward, fighting against the people of Chaos, which is also a rare sight.
After learning that the material of the new leaf coat of arms was Mithril, Rosen tried to parse this material, but all of them failed, at least in the silver stage, he could not reproduce it, perhaps this is one of the reasons why this metal is so cherished.
Since there was no breakthrough for the time being, Rosen decided to go around the Elven Court first, maybe he could encounter any clues.
The two followed Nolia from the palace courtyard to the living quarters.
The elves are sparsely populated, and there are hardly any wandering elves on the wide roads, and their long lifespans give them endless time, so most of the elves have their own research or work, and will not waste time for no reason like humans.
But Rosen is still very strange, it has been two days in the elven court, and he still hasn't seen a single male elf.
He also made a point of asking Tia to confirm that the elves did indeed have males, and not some special race without males, such as asexual reproduction or budding reproduction.
As for asking Noria, the answer was that in the Holy War, most of the male elves were killed in battle, and only a few survived, and these men lived in seclusion and generally did not leave their homes.
Fortunately, the elves themselves are not like humans who are creatures that will be in heat all year round, they have weak desires, and their lifespan is too long, so there will be no plot where a man sits in a harem of three thousand elves.
But Rosen thinks the real reason is not that, and although the city is close at hand, it always seems to be shrouded in a mist, and it is impossible to see what the truth is.
The three of them soon arrived at the blacksmith shop that Nolia was talking about, and it was surprisingly not an ordinary place full of sweat and steel, but more like a quiet gallery.
A two-story wooden building sits on the side of the street, with the words Renotas Blacksmith written in Elven language, and the door is left open, seemingly empty.
"Excuse me. β
Nolia led the way into the store, followed by Rosen and Tia.
Inside, there are many weapons that are more like works of art than weapons, and they are decorated with intricate patterns that are so carefully carved that you can't bear to use them.
Rosen only glanced at these weapons, and he could see that the metal used in these weapons was very good, but it was not Mithril, it was just an ordinary alloy.
There was really no one in the store.
The shopkeeper didn't seem to worry about the thief in the slightest, or the weapons placed outside were just a disguise, and there was a stagnant air in the shop.
"Lord Rinotas?"
Nolia called, but there was no response.
Just as Rosen thought the shopkeeper was not there and was about to call Nolia somewhere else, a crisp sound came from the back of the room.
Dingββ
It was like the clatter of tools, and the clatter of weapons, echoing through the room.
"This way. β
Nolia caught the source of the voice, guiding Lawson to follow in her footsteps.
They walked through the vestibule of the shop and into the courtyard.
Whenβ
Just as Lawson crossed the threshold and walked into the courtyard, another sound was heard.
Then, his vision cleared up, and he saw a blacksmith in the middle of the courtyard, hammer in hand, striking a piece of red-hot metal.
"Uh, it's a woman, too?"
Rosen didn't have any prejudice, but the blacksmith's hard work, he subconsciously thought that the shopkeeper was a man, but at the moment he saw a woman, which was indeed a little surprising.
From the back, the short-haired woman was wearing a leather blouse, her wheat-colored skin looked healthy and vibrant, and the hammer in her hand was not light, but it was very flexible, and with constant blowing, the metal gradually took shape, becoming the prototype of a long sword.
At this time, the woman also happened to notice the three of them, she put down the hammer, and turned her head.
