Chapter 55: Win
He hovered in mid-air, his hands raised, and the stands exploded. Phoenix flew above the crowd, and the lawn below seemed to come alive. He gripped the golden snitch, silver wings flapping hopelessly between his fingers.
Draco then sped towards him, shouting something he didn't understand, and Flint, Warrington, Bol, and the rest of the team rushed over. The mouth shouted: We won!
Phoenix felt like there were two big chunks coming straight at him, and the Slytherin team were all tall students, except for him and Draco. Snape waved his hands excitedly, completely ungloomy and indifferent from his usual gloom and indifference, but not a single one of the forgetful crowd noticed.
Wave after wave of supporters rushed over the barricade to the pitch. Countless hands rained down on their backs. Phoenix felt noises and human bodies surround him in torrents, as if there had been an explosion in the crowd around him. He and the rest of the team were then lifted on their shoulders by the crowd.
They carried all the players around the field before carrying them towards the podium, where Dumbledore stood waiting, the huge Quidditch trophy in his hand.
Phoenix took the trophy that Dumbledore handed him and held it aloft, and the crowd exploded again.
Winning the Quidditch Trophy made Phoenix happy, and they could have fun for a week without training or homework. Even the weather seems to be celebrating the victory: with the arrival of June, the days are hot and cloudless, and all we want to do is take a walk outside, take a few pints of chilled pumpkin juice to the grass and lie down on the grass, maybe play a game of stone throwing or watch the giant squid dream on the lake.
But they can't do that. With exams approaching, students are not only unable to laze outside to pass the time, but they also have to stay in the castle and endure the temptation of the summer breeze blowing from their windows, forcing their brains to work hard.
In the end, only Noether found time to wander around with him, and recently Phoenix had become obsessed with wizarding chess, and the two of them didn't read a book at all, and sat by the Black Lake all day playing all afternoon.
At the last PA event of the school year, everyone's compound decoction was boiled.
"Alright. Everyone's potions were a success—" Phoenix announced in a loud voice after reading everyone's potions.
"Is there any reward? Philip said with a smile.
"There's no reward, but—" Phoenix whetted everyone's appetite, "we can do a less orthodox test, how about we?"
"It doesn't feel like a good idea. Melinda and Hermione didn't agree, maybe they had already thought of it.
"Okay. The boys agreed.
"The minority obeys the majority," Phoenix said, pulling out six small bags, "There's a handful of hair in it, and each person takes one at random, and then after we finish the transformation, we sit down and chat to determine the true identity of the person who has been transformed." ”
"It's kind of interesting, but I don't want to be a woman. Philip was a little hesitant.
"Don't worry, it's just a game, see?" Phoenix pulled out two white bags, "These two bags are girls' hair, and the others are boys'." ”
"You pervert, where did you get that?" asked Hermione, with a strange look on her face.
"Directly, I said that we were going to learn prophecy, an Asian form of prophecy, and then I would explain to them a whole bunch of words that I didn't understand myself, and I got it. ”
They agreed. "Melinda feels incredible.
"Of course, a handful of hair can't do anything bad anyway, and besides, I'm a first-class Merlin medalist, how can I do anything bad. ”
"Are we going to write down our judgment?" Like Noether, the usually taciturn Friedhelm was eager to try.
"Ah, yes, each of us will take a piece of parchment and write down the names of real people in the order from left to right where we are sitting, the compound decoction will be effective for one hour, and when we turn back to the prototype, we will see who guesses the best. ”
"Any more questions?" Phoenix, seeing that everyone was fine, "come on, take any one." ”
The Room of Requirement conjured up six compartments, with bags in hand, and Phoenix scooped up large balls of decoction with a long-handled spoon and poured them into each glass.
"Wait, there's a problem. Hermione said, "We all know that everybody goes into that compartment, and it doesn't make sense to say anything like that. Just remember who gets into which compartment. ”
The others nodded approvingly.
"You've got a bright mind, Hermione. Phoenix smiled, "Actually, I've been using a kind of visual trick magic for a long time, and when you go in from this compartment, you will come out from another compartment when you come out. Trust me, you can't guess this way. ”
"The difficulty has gone up. Knott muttered.
Everyone entered the cubicle, which was not very large, with a mirror, a chair, and a cabinet.
Phoenix poured his hair into the glass, and the decoction made a loud noise, like a pot of boiling water, and foamed vigorously. After a second, it turns a dark gray.
"There's clothes in this cupboard. ”
"It's a very thoughtful house. ”
"Count to three and drink together, one-two-three!"
Phoenix pinched his nose and swallowed the decoction in two gulps. It tastes like overcooked cabbage. Immediately, his internal organs began to churn, as if he had just swallowed a few live snakes, and he bent down. Suddenly, a burning sensation spread from his stomach to his fingers and toes. Then, there was a terrible feeling of melting, as if his skin was bubbling like hot wax, and he was crawling on the ground gasping for breath, and he watched as his hands began to grow larger, his fingers thickened, his nails widened, and his knuckles bulged out like bolts. His shoulders began to stretch and he felt excruciating pain, the pins and needles in his forehead told him that hair was spreading towards his eyebrows, his robe was torn like a bucket breaking iron hoops as his chest swelled, his feet were crammed into his small size four shoes, and the pain came and went quickly. All of a sudden, everything stopped.
Phoenix slumped to the ground with his face on the floor, listening to the sound of the next compartment. He struggled to remove his shoes and stood up. So, to be a boy of about fifteen or sixteen years old. His large hands trembled, and he took off his old robe—which now hung a foot above his ankle—and there were uniforms of all sizes in the cabinets, but none of them had the house logo.
In the mirror was a strange boy, and Phoenix only remembered that he had asked for his hair in the library, and nothing else was impressive.
He opened the door and walked out of the cubicle and sat down on the U-shaped couch, and the others soon came out.
Everyone looked at each other and sat down slowly, looking very cautious. I'm afraid that I'll leak some flaws.
Sitting next to Phoenix was a girl with waist-length blonde hair, pale eyebrows, and bulging eyes, which made her look as if she had always had a surprised expression. I remember that this girl is quirky, but she is very nice and cute.
On the other side is a very beautiful girl, the Ravenclaw Seeker Cho Zhang. There's also Slytherin's second-year leader, Roger Pike, a brown-haired boy and Male Student Council President, Percy.
"It's weird, isn't it?" Percy said.
"Yes, but the taste of the medicine is disgusting. Phoenix quickly scribbled down two names on parchment. Everyone was surprised for a while, and there were three people who didn't speak, and he had already guessed that he must be Phoenix, and the others invariably started to write, and Phoenix grinned self-deprecatingly.
After writing it, everyone began to speak freely. There's already a guarantee.
After an hour, everyone was back to the way they were.
Autumn Chang is Hermione, the blonde girl is Melinda, Percy is Nott, the brown-haired Philip is Philip, and Pike is Friedhelm.
"Looks like everyone guessed me. After reading Phoenix, he said someone's answer, "Okay, well done." ”
"You should have waited a little longer, showing a little hesitation. Knott suggested.
"Okay," Phoenix shrugged, "Actually, this game can tell you something very important, does anyone know?"
"Details. Friedhelm replied quickly.
"Very well, it's the details," Phoenix continued, satisfied, "Magic is a very subtle thing, such as the removal of your weapon, which is a common spell, but few people know that if the tip of the staff is slightly picked when casting a spell, the opponent's wand can fly into the caster's hand. If you don't have this movement, you will fly around irregularly. Like us, when learning some advanced magic, you need to pay extra attention. There's an important event going on next semester, but I'm not going to let my pace - "Phoenix thought a little" - and if it's fast enough, maybe I can talk about some really advanced academics. ”
"What's going on next semester?" Melinda wondered.
"You'll know then, and I promise it's definitely fun, at least I'm looking forward to it. ”
