Act II. Mass production machine

"Lawson?"

Swift frowned, the man in front of him was obviously not an El, but could a mere human really build such a machine?

He didn't believe that lazy humans could have the intelligence to develop such an ingenious machine, and Swift thought Taylor was making fun of himself.

"Where are you from?"

Swift asked, looking suspiciously at the faceless man in armor.

There is no shortage of people of other races in Greenwich, whether it is the trade-loving Firut people, or the humans everywhere, and even those who worship mysteries have many of them staying in this workshop city in search of inspiration, but as the great engineer of the Craftsmen's Alliance, he still has doubts about this guy who "meets" for the first time.

You know, Greenwich is not just some simple machinery, the reason why this country can stand on this continent is naturally uniquely powerful, in the past many years, there have been spies from various forces who want to steal Greenwich's secrets, but all of them have returned empty-handed.

The man in front of him was quite suspicious no matter how he looked at it.

"Swift, don't you know that this is the messenger from the Rainbow Tower."

Taylor saw that Swift was so vigilant and explained.

"Rainbow Tower??

This news seems to have been disclosed for the first time, and after hearing Taylor's words, everyone present talked about it and nodded in praise.

Swift was a little surprised in his heart, he didn't expect that the place where the arrogant mages gathered would send messengers to visit Greenwich, and he didn't expect that the mages had developed the machinery to such an extent.

This gave him a slight sense of frustration, but Swift quickly recovered from the mood.

For the El, there is nothing that cannot be solved with a glass of ale, and if there is, then another one.

Swift rubbed his palms and looked at the machine before he continued.

"I—Of course I know about the Rainbow Tower, yes, the messenger of the Rainbow Tower, so what do you want to do with this machine, do you want to trade with the Artisan Alliance?"

Curiosity is in the nature of the Els, and Swift, who is attracted to this automatic machine, smells the conspiracy in it, and he knows the value of this machine, so he is puzzled by Rosen's purpose.

Normally, people who visit Greenwich want to commission specific installations and equipment from master craftsmen, but there are few people who come with equipment since the building was built.

"It's not too much to say it's a deal, but I think we can talk about it in another place later."

Lawson spread his hand and gestured to the crowd around him.

"Then I'll wait in my workshop!"

Swift didn't know what the other party was trying to do, so he left a sentence and squeezed out of the crowd and turned back to his workshop.

However, the effects of this incident did not fade so quickly, and throughout the morning, Swift was immersed in a state of restlessness, and even the usually most calming forging could not calm Swift's mind.

By noon, the great engineer had finally left his workbench and was about to go to Taylor's workshop to ask questions.

But when he opened the door and was about to walk out, he found that Rosen was standing in the doorway of his house with Taylor.

"We're going to find you, man."

Taylor said, smiling.

“...... I knew you were coming. ”

Swift replied with an embarrassed smile, then stepped back and let the two of them walk into his workshop.

His workshop was neat, with all the materials and tools in order, showing the meticulous personality of his master, Swift said, pointing to an empty table.

"There's no place to rest, just sit here."

As he spoke, he took out a few rough wooden wine glasses from the cupboard, poured three glasses of ale and brought them to the table.

"Ah, ale, Swift, you're a genius."

Taylor immediately smiled even more happily, and in the El-like etiquette, the host gave the guest a glass of ale as a sign of welcome, which at least meant that Swift, who used to sneer at him, had changed his opinion of him.

Taking a sip of ale, Taylor said.

"As you can see, although this Mr. Lawson came to visit on behalf of the Rainbow Tower, the machine he brought with him is indeed of a considerable level of craftsmanship."

Swift heard Taylor's words, nodded, and said with a sigh.

"This machine is so advanced that it can mass-produce parts with such high precision in such a short period of time, and if it weren't for the fact that there is only one, then I have reason to suspect that we craftsmen would lose the meaning of existence."

"Ahem, in fact, ......"

Rosen interrupted Swift's words at this time.

"That machine is just a mass production machine, and we have produced close to a thousand such machines."

"W-what!?"

Swift slammed the table, nearly failing to tip the glasses on it.

"1,000 !?"

Soon, he reacted again, and sat down slowly, stunned.

"What kind of force are you, how could the Rainbow Tower have such a deep study of mechanical manufacturing?"

Swift asked, he knew a few mages who were working in Greenwich, and he was able to get some of the latest magical research results, although the Rainbow Tower had recently made some achievements in the mechanization of magic guides, but it was far from enough to reach the level that Swift saw today.

So either the actual research of the Rainbow Tower is far greater than what seems on the surface, or this Lawson has another identity besides the Rainbow Tower.

"Isruel, I wonder if Master Swift has ever heard of this place?"

Lawson said quietly, causing the temperature in the workshop to seem to drop by several degrees.

"Islam...... I've read it in ancient books, and I remember that it should be the kingdom of the undead...... Wait, do you say!? ”

Swift touched his chin and thought about it, but suddenly, as if he had discovered something, he suddenly stood up, stumbled backwards, and almost fell.

"Taylor, did you already know?"

He turned his head to look at his compatriots, and Taylor smiled wryly and spread his hands.

"Don't panic, man, I reacted more violently than you did when I first found out."

Hearing Taylor's words, Swift took a few steps back and stared at Rosen warily.

Islam, that is the realm of the undead, has been hidden from the main material plane for many years, and the tall man in front of him is very likely to be a guy from that realm!
