Act 14: Changes in Ore Town (Part I)
Father Belfast is over 60 years old this year, which is still young for a human with an average life expectancy of 150 years, but he has been in charge of the parish of Ore Town and its surroundings for more than ten years, and in this respect, he can be regarded as young and promising.
Ore Town is located in the northern part of the Wendland Federation, close to the area of the Kingdom of Aster, which was considered a front line during the war many years ago, and now, the war has long since disappeared, but it has left many strongholds built at that time, as well as the descendants of many soldiers in the villagers.
The other day, the anomaly in the sky had little effect on Ore Town, and the people of Ore Town still worked at sunrise and sunset, completely unaware of what had happened that day.
But after that, the constant rumors told us about what happened that day.
Father Belfast received a notice from the Archdiocese of the province asking for greater surveillance of heretics, and a rough idea of what the mutation was that day.
I didn't elaborate on it, except that it was a cultist, but Father Belfast sensed that something was wrong.
Although the cultists often wreak havoc, they have never caused such a large-scale rebellion, and Father Belfast has accepted more than one Wendland Federation mercenary who has fled back from the territory of the kingdom of Astre, according to them, the center of the disaster, there are countless chaos monsters, there are huge figures fighting in the sky, and there is an apocalyptic scene.
However, Father Belfast did not say much about the decision of the archdiocese, and it seemed to him that the big people naturally had their own considerations, and since they were reluctant to tell them about the people in charge, there must be a special reason.
Father Belfast is one such priest who is a strong believer in the Goddess and a faithful member of the Church.
Of course, as the head of this diocese, he also has enough authority, and even the mayor of Ore Town, those nobles need to be a little afraid of Father Belfast, after all, in the Wendland Federation, the Templar can be said to be one of the strongest forces.
Today, he was woken up by a loud noise.
"What's wrong. ”
Father Belfast got up from his bed, feeling strange as he got dressed.
It's still early days, and no one else has been passing through Ore Town lately, but the outside looks like a New Year's festival, and the sound of people's voices and shouts mingling with the sound of banging and banging makes Father Belfast feel uneasy.
What's more, he lived in the house of the temple, and it stands to reason that the temple in the center of the city should be a solemn place, and there are few people who make loud noises on weekdays, and now that they still have the slightest fear of the goddess!
Father Belfast was a little angry, and he buttoned it up and walked out of his room.
Walking through the corridor and past the chapel hall, Father Belfast walked out of the door to see an unexpectedly large number of people gathered in the Templar Square.
"Your Excellency, are you up?"
A young priest saw that Father Belfast looked a little displeased, and immediately came up to greet him.
"What is this doing?"
Instead of looking directly at the priest, Father Belfast focused his gaze on the noisy crowd, who were clearly the inhabitants of Ore Town, and he saw many familiar faces.
As far as their eyes could see, there was a construction site on the side of the square, near the direction of the Great Cathedral.
"Huh?"
The construction site had just been erected, and on one side of the wooden scaffolding was a dark board, the material of which could not be seen, and several workers in overalls were busy, hammering and hammering.
"Who gave you permission to do this in the Templar Square, this is the territory of the Templar, are you trying to blaspheme the Goddess?"
Father Belfast was immediately displeased, didn't these fellows really know that this was the site of the Templar, and that they had erected such an unknown purpose here without his consent, whether they were too bold or that the punishment for violating the authority of the Templar was too light.
Hearing Father Belfast's roar, the workers stopped what they were doing and looked at him with some confusion.
The crowd also subconsciously moved out of the way, allowing the authoritative priest to come to the construction site.
"Father, don't be so excited. ”
A well-dressed, aristocratic man immediately approached, it was the mayor of Ore Town, Baron Locks.
Seeing the acquaintance, Father Belfast raised his toes even more, raised his eyebrows, and began to question.
"Lord Baron, since you are standing here, why didn't you stop these people from desecrating the Templar?"
Hearing Father Belfast's words, Baron Locks was stunned for a moment, then showed a flattering smile and said with a smile.
"Father, you probably don't know, but I actually called these workers, and I also asked them to put them here. ”
When Father Belfast heard this, a hint of surprise flashed across his face, and then he cleared his throat and said in a calm voice.
"This is the domain of the Templar, Lord Baron, and it doesn't seem appropriate for you to do something without notifying me beforehand. ”
Baron Locks had been running Ore Town for ten years, walking on thin ice, treating the Templar and Father Belfast as its spokesman, with such deference that the priest could not figure out why he did what he did.
"Well, that's because the order came in such a hurry that I didn't have time to inform you. ”
"Orders?"
Father Belfast frowned slightly, and wanted to continue, but a voice sounded from behind the two of them, interrupting the conversation.
"It's the order I brought. ”
Hearing a familiar voice, Father Belfast turned around and saw a priest in a white robe, with white temples, three gold trims on his cuffs, and a golden cross on his chest, as if he were a high-ranking priest.
"Gree-sama, why are you here?"
Father Belfast immediately recognized that this was Father Billie from the archdiocese, and his authority was far above him.
"Belfast, it's my order to build this, do you have any grievances?"
Father Billie apparently heard the conversation between the two men earlier, and he asked, causing Father Belfast to look timid.
"No, no, how dare I question the opinion of Lord Bilet...... It's just, I don't know what this thing is for?"
Father Belfast was even more puzzled when he saw what looked like a wall.
