Chapter 205: A Cave on a Cliff

As Dumbledore had told, Evan sensed the traces left by magic.

But he didn't feel anything, he blinked.

Judging by the expressions of Sirius, Harry, and Hermione, they should be the same as themselves, and they don't know what the traces of Dumbledore are talking about.

It can be seen that the difference in strength between them and Dumbledore is very large.

"You three don't mind getting wet, do you?"

"It's okay, we don't mind!" Aven, Harry, and Hermione hurriedly shook their heads.

"Very well, it's high tide and the water is going to get deeper and deeper, so we have to hurry up and let's take a chance. Dumbledore turned his head and continued to command, "I'll be the first, and the three of you will follow me, behind the Sirius Hall." As for Kreacher, you go inside the cave and wait for us. ā€

After some preparation, they got into action.

Dumbledore suddenly became as agile as a young man, and he slid lightly from the pebble into the sea, swimming towards the dark crack beneath the water.

He held his wand in his mouth and adopted the perfect breaststroke position.

Aven, Harry, and Hermione hurried to follow, Sirius behind them.

The winter waters are bitterly cold, and everyone feels terrible.

Evan, in particular, had too many magic books in his arms, and after his clothes were soaked with water, they became swollen and heavy, dragging him straight down.

He took a few deep breaths and smelled the pungent salty smell and seaweed.

Then he sank to the bottom, struggling to find Dumbledore in front of him, and the narrow gap deep in the cliff.

But he didn't see anything, not even Harry and Hermione, who were supposed to be beside him, there seemed to be a powerful suction force in the depths of the sea, like a bottomless black whirlpool, dragging him deeper.

In the dark, cold waters, Evan was so lonely and helpless that he couldn't even breathe.

Just when he was about to hold on, someone grabbed him.

It was Sirius, who had a lot of strength, and he pulled Evan to swim quickly in the other direction.

Soon, they entered the crack deep in the cliff, and the crack turned into a dark tunnel. They went up quickly in the dark tunnel, and Evan was able to breathe again, and the sea water stopped there, not filling the entire dark passage, but only to the position of his chest.

The tide is rising now, and if you delay a little longer, it will definitely be filled with seawater.

"Are you alright, Aven?" Sirius patted Evan's shoulder and said worriedly, "Don't force yourself too hard, I'll see you fall behind in the back"

"I—I'm fine!"

Evan gasped, and Harry and Hermione hurried to meet them, all three of them turned pale from the cold and shivered in the chest-high water.

Not far ahead, Dumbledore's wand glowed brightly golden, and he was looking around, the slimy rock walls on either side of the tunnel were only three feet apart, shimmering like tar.

Dumbledore didn't say anything, just waved his hand and motioned for them to follow.

A little further in, a fork in the road began to appear, Kreacher was not there, they didn't know which direction to go, but Dumbledore didn't hesitate to turn left.

They continued to follow Dumbledore, the temperature in the cavern was much cooler than outside, and the already biting waters were even colder because of the lack of sunlight, and their frozen numb fingers brushed against the rough, damp rocks, staggering forward in the water.

At the end of the tunnel, Dumbledore had risen from the water, his silver-white hair and black robes glistening with water.

They swam there and found steps leading to a large cave.

Evan struggled up the steps, water gurgling down his soaked clothes.

He finally stepped out of the water, the air around him was silent and cold, and he shivered uncontrollably.

He saw that Kreacher was already standing in the middle of the cavern, talking to Dumbledore beside him.

Dumbledore's wand was held high in his hand, whispering as he slowly spun in circles, scrutinizing the rock walls and the roof of the cave.

"Without a doubt, this is the place. Dumbledore said briefly, "These walls have been enchanted, and they are the traces left by Riddle"

Evan saw Dumbledore continue to slowly spin in place, apparently concentrating on something he couldn't see, studying the traces left by Voldemort.

"That's right, Kreacher, I know it's just the antechamber, it's the entrance hall!" Dumbledore whispered, "We need to get inside, it's Voldemort's trap that is blocking us now, not an obstacle set up by nature."

Dumbledore approached the cave wall and stroked it gently with his fingers.

The wand in his hand shook slightly, and he muttered a strange language that Evan had never passed before, as if it were a spell, but it didn't.

Since nothing happened, Dumbledore walked around the cavern twice from the left, touching the rough walls as much as he could, occasionally stopping to grope his fingers up and down somewhere.

"Teach, professor?"

Evan took a few steps forward, Dumbledore was recognizing the traces of Voldemort's magic, he was curious to know how Dumbledore did it, he had never seen a wizard solve a puzzle like this before today: see with his eyes, touch with his hands, and telepathize with his mind.

It's all a master's style, not like other common low-level wizards, who use spells to make ping-pong and smoke.

Evan wanted to learn from Dumbledore how to discern traces of magic left on objects, but then realized that he didn't have the energy to do it now.

He was shivering because the cold had invaded his bone marrow.

The little Sirius, Harry, and Hermione beside him weren't much better, they were all shaking uncontrollably.

Aven saw Sirius pull out his wand and tried to warm them up with magic, but to no avail, his teeth were chattering because of the cold, and his magic was ineffective.

"Oh, sorry, I'm sorry, I forgot!" Dumbledore noticed them, and he pointed his wand at all four of them in turn.

As Dumbledore moved, Evan felt that his body immediately became dry and warm, and there was not even the slightest trace of his clothes being soaked by the sea, as if they had been hung in front of a roaring fire.

"Thank you!" said Aven, Harry, and Hermione hurriedly gratefully, seeing Dumbledore turn his attention to the solid cave wall again.

He didn't try anything else, just stood there, staring intently at the cave wall, as if something extremely interesting was written on it.

"Where's Regulus?" Sirius suddenly shouted, "Kreacher, tell us how to get in?"

There was a hint of impatience in his tone, they had wasted too much time, and the dark, eerie cavern in front of him was even more confusing.

It's not something he's good at, and he'd rather fight the Dead than stay here (to be continued.) )
