Chapter 262: Ron and the Rumors

"I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, he looked as annoying as he had been. Ron looked up at the other side, "He must be plotting something." ”

Malfoy was walking out of the auditorium in the midst of a crowd of Slytherin students, and before leaving the door, he deliberately glanced back at the three of them with disgust, his eyes flashing with malice.

"I could feel that something was definitely wrong with him. Harry affirmed, "He rarely comes near us now, as if he was afraid." ”

"It's funny that Malfoy is scared. ”

"Nothing funny, Ron!" Hermione said disapprovingly, putting away the note Hagrid had sent, "Harry is right, Malfoy is scared." He's not scared of the three of us, though, he's afraid of Aven. ”

"Why should he be afraid of Aven?" Ron asked.

"That's because," Hermione hesitated, unsure whether to tell the truth, and she finally said vaguely, "you know, Malfoy was looking for trouble the other day, and Evan gave him a hard lesson. ”

"Just to teach Malfoy a lesson, and then get him scared?!" Harry was stunned for a moment, "I never knew he was so timid. ”

"There's definitely something wrong with this, and Malfoy won't be scared easily, unless" Ron seemed to think of something, and after looking around to make sure no one was eavesdropping on their conversation, he lowered his voice and said, "I think I know why, you two have heard that rumor, right?!"

"What rumors?" asked Hermione curiously, she had been very busy lately because she was busy with her studies, and she rarely communicated with anyone else, and she hadn't heard anything.

"Evan is studying the Dark Arts!" Ron's voice grew lower, "He must have used the Dark Arts on Malfoy to scare him, he's sure"

"Ron, we've talked about this before, and there's no evidence that Evan is studying the dark arts, which sounds obviously ridiculous. Harry hurriedly said, "You don't really believe this nonsense, do you?"

"But Malfoy's reaction, and the rumor," Ron argued.

"That's just a rumor, Aven's magic has always been strong, maybe it caused misunderstanding among others, he must have used some other method to scare Malfoy. Harry said, "Remember last year's basilisk incident, when everyone thought I was a Slytherin heir, and those Hufflepuffs even said I was worse than Voldemort. They have always been like this, when they are fine, they love to think and spread some things that have no factual basis. ”

Ron visibly shuddered at Harry's mention of Voldemort.

"It's not just rumors!" he said unwillingly, "I've seen with my own eyes Aven's notes, and there's a terrible pattern drawn on them, it's a man with a crazy twisted expression, and his soul is split. ”

"Maybe you're wrong, and even if it's not, a pattern doesn't mean anything. ”

"It was his research notebook, and there was a lot of esoteric text on it besides the painting, and it couldn't have been drawn casually. Ron gasped and said, "Evan has been secretly researching something by himself lately, and it must be dark magic." I've asked Colin, and on a few occasions he'd gotten up late at night to see Evan not sleeping, alone under the covers reading a magic book. ”

"None of that says anything," Harry said stubbornly.

"That's why we need to investigate and have more evidence. Ron raised his voice slightly, trying to convince Harry to make his friends understand the importance of the matter, "Malfoy's reaction is telling, and we can use this as a breakthrough. Believe me, Aven's recent behavior is really suspicious, and he may be studying some spells that he can't possibly master out of curiosity. We have to stop him, and it's for his good. ”

"You're not trying to work with Malfoy to investigate Aven?!" Harry said in astonishment.

"I'm just giving you an example, we have to determine what Evan is doing. If he does study the dark arts, we can tell," Ron said eagerly.

"Over the past two years, Evan has proven that he has nothing to do with the Dark Wizard, and I believe him. Also, I didn't want to have anything to do with Malfoy. Harry said irritably, "Ron, you must believe in Evan too, don't you?"

Seeing Harry staring at him, Ron's gaze dodged for a moment, then returned to normal, and replied in a low voice, "That's right, I trust him!"

"Very well, in that case, then don't think about it anymore. You can come and see us for a Quidditch training in a moment, and at the end of the training, you can ride a firebow arrow. Harry seemed relieved, turned to Hermione, who had not spoken, and said, "Hermione, you come too." You and Evan both need to relax and get some fresh air, you've been putting too much pressure on yourself lately to keep going like this. ”

Hermione nodded subconsciously, still thinking about what Ron had just said.

"I went to call Evan, he must still be in the library reading a book or sorting out newspaper articles. Harry handed Ron the firebolt beside him and continued, "You two can wait for us at the Quidditch venue after breakfast. ”

After he finished speaking, he hurriedly turned around and left, looking a little flustered.

The conversation with Ron had just given Harry a sense of foreboding.

He didn't know where the unfounded rumor that Evan was studying the dark arts came about, and he was very worried, as Ron had discussed it with him before. Ron also suggested that Evan be investigated, but Harry did not agree.

He tried to convince Ron to give up on the idea, but Harry wondered if Ron had listened to what he had to say.

Suspicious of his friends, which made him feel bad.

Like believing in Sirius, Harry believed in Evan unconditionally. In the last two years, facing the basilisk, Tom Riddle's diary, Peter Pettigrew, and more, Harry couldn't imagine how bad things would have been without Aven.

Even if Evan was really studying the dark arts, as Ron said, Harry believed he had a good reason and wouldn't use the dark arts for any bad things.

Harry had advised Ron to do this, and since then, Ron has never brought it up again.

But it didn't take long for this rumor to start appearing inside the castle.

That didn't bode well, and Harry didn't want to say anything bad.

Since Sirius was proven innocent and became a Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at the school, Harry was very happy with his current state of life.

Sirius had said that Harry could move in with him during the summer.

Harry couldn't have imagined that leaving the Dursleys and in his godfather's house would have no scruples about inviting Aven, Ron, and Hermione to be guests.

He had never been happier than he was now, and he didn't want any accidents to happen. (To be continued.) )
