Chapter 382: The Department of Mystic Affairs and Departure
In front of them was a rudimentary, deep corridor. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć ļ½ļ½ļ½ļ½
This corridor is completely different from the ones above, the walls are empty, there are no doors or windows, but there is a simple black door at the end of the corridor.
Evan knew that this was the Department of Mysteries.
To be honest, he would love to go in and have a visit.
He'd heard too many rumors about it, but very few were actually credible.
There is hardly any reliable record of this mysterious unit on the market.
In "Singing Against the Tune" that Luna had previously shown herself, it was said that Fudge was using the Department of Mysteries to develop a terrible poison and secretly drug people with whom he disagreed.
But this is obviously ridiculous, and Evan knows that it actually contains all the prophecy orbs that the Ministry of Magic has obtained, heirloom magic items, and various unknown magic items that need to be studied and preserved, such as magic related to time, souls, death, etc.
The prototype of the time turner worn by Hermione is kept here, and the artifact-like magic item helps wizards control time.
"The Department of Mysteries is the most mysterious department of the Ministry of Magic, no one has ever known what they are doing, and the identities and tasks of the staff in this department are all top secret. Sirius said, "The wizards who work here are called the Silencers!"
Evan nodded, taking a closer look at the plain black door.
The door must have been years old, and the same material used to build the centaur Moon Temple was obsidian, leaving no traces of magic on it.
"One of my ancestors used to work here, and I read his diary. Seeing that Evan was intrigued, Sirius continued, "According to his account, a long time ago, the Ministry of Magic discovered that there were many innate forms of magic, which, unlike current magic, existed in a form that was difficult to explain, or even more difficult to control. ā
Not surprisingly, this magic is supposed to be inherited from the research of ancient warlocks.
They have gone further and learned more on the path of magic than the wizards of today.
However, as time passed, the once glorious magical civilization finally disappeared.
There are many theories about the extinction of ancient warlocks, which have been debated for thousands of years. The craziest story that Evan had just heard recently was what the globular god had told him that the powerful ancient warlocks had fled to the new world en masse because they had to escape the control of the god.
Behind this black door is a circular room lined with doors, where the Silent Man explores and experiments with the mystical powers of various rooms. Sirius said, "If you're interested, you can apply to work here after graduation, and they only need the best students, and if they don't meet the conditions, it's possible that they won't recruit new people for a few years." But with your strength, there must be no problem. ā
They walked through the hallway and stood outside the black door and watched for a moment.
"Let's go, don't keep Dumbledore waiting too long!" Sirius took Evan by the arm and pulled him to the left, where there was a gap leading to a staircase.
"Below here is the Wizengamot Special Courtroom, where the key to the Azkaban is kept. Sirius said as he walked, "If you are convicted, you will be sent directly to Azkaban there, and you will not have to spend days and nights at sea." ā
They walked for a long time, descended to the bottom of the stairs, and went down a corridor again.
Truth be told, it was exactly the same as the hallways leading to Snape's underground classrooms at Hogwarts: rough stone walls with torches stuck in brackets. The doors that pass through are heavy wooden doors with iron latches and keyholes embedded in them.
"The tenth courtroom, we're here!" Sirius sneered as he pulled Aven to a dark door with a large iron lock, "I was supposed to be tried here, but after a long wait, they told me that I didn't need to be tried for my crimes, so they shoved me straight to Azkaban. ā
They pushed open the door and entered, the walls around them were made of black stone, and the light from the torches was dim and eerie.
On either side were rows of empty benches that were rising upwards, and in front of him, Dumbledore was sitting on one of them, his eyes closed, not knowing what he was thinking.
No sooner had they entered, than Dumbledore sensed it and opened his eyes.
"You're here!" Dumbledore said calmly, "I'm sorry we have to get from this place, but trust me, the place we're going to be in a moment will be infinitely scarier and more eerie than here." ā
He waved his hand, motioning for Sirius and Aven to follow in his footsteps.
They walked towards the top of the room, skirting the huge round stone pillar, behind the black curtain, a small hidden door.
Dumbledore tapped with his wand, and the locked door opened.
In the center of the room is a statue of a Dementor.
It was about to lift the scarf from its head upwards, revealing its terrifying mouth in the midst of the looming, as if it was going to give someone a kiss and suck his soul.
"Special clearance is required to enter this room. Dumbledore explained, "Outside is the Supreme Criminal Court of the Wizengamot, where almost all the prisoners in Azkaban are tried. They did it because of the statue in front of them, the only key to get us to Azkaban quickly. ā
Dumbledore looked at the Dementor statue for a moment, as if thinking about something, before turning his pale blue gaze to Aven.
"You know what the portkey means, right?" he asked, smiling.
"You know, I've read it in books. Evan said hurriedly.
"Good, but this statue is different from a normal portkey!" Dumbledore said, "he won't follow us, in fact, there are the same statues in Azkaban, and we can be teleported back and forth by touching them." ā
"But what is the principle of this magic?" asked Aven.
"No one knows, like the things you saw above in the Department of Mysteries, there are many wonderful magic waiting to be discovered and studied. Dumbledore said, "What we know now is only a small fraction. ā
He took something out of his bosom and handed it to Aven.
"I went to the centaur tribe last night and read the accounts related to that evil god, and it was indeed beyond my imagination, it was not any creature I knew of, and it did not appear in the magic books. Dumbledore said, "I thought about it before you came. Since you have traveled back thousands of years to meet the four founders of the school, the things they left behind are all related to these evil gods. Then I think it's better for you to keep this thing. ā
Evan was stunned for a moment, then took what Dumbledore had handed him.
It was the red nameplate left behind by the disappearance of the giant eyeball monster in the underground ruins, and the image of the terrifying nightmare god was painted on it. (To be continued.) )
