Chapter 56: Aven, Harry vs. Tom Riddle
"What's the problem?" Harry snapped, his fists still clenched.
"There are many, for example"
Riddle smiled happily, "How did a baby, without any particularly magical spells, defeat the greatest wizard of all time?" and how could you escape unharmed, leaving only a scar while Voldemort's power was destroyed?"
Now, his wolf-hungry eyes glowed with a strange red glow.
"It's funny, you were defeated by Harry, but you don't know how you failed. Voldemort, is this what you call a great power?!" Evan sneered.
He cautiously looked around, looking around for the journal.
Now Riddle is just a disembodied memory, formed by absorbing Ron's life force, and attacking him has no effect at all.
Only by finding that diary horcrux can everything be solved.
"I'm underestimating you again, Mudbloods!" Riddle whispered, "It seems that you already know who I am, yes, I am Voldemort, and he is my past, present, and future." ”
He took Ron's broken wand, drew a few times in the air, and wrote three shiny names: Tom Mavolo Riddle!
Then, with a wave of his wand, the letters automatically reversed positions and became: I am Voldemort!
"This is a new name I came up with myself!" he whispered, "Do you think that I am going to use the name of my filthy Muggle father for the rest of my life?
"That's impossible!" Riddle's face curled with a heart-pounding sneer, "I'm going to give myself a new name, it means my new life! I know that one day, when I become the greatest magician in the world, wizards everywhere will not dare to say that name easily!"
Although he had known that Tom Riddle was Voldemort for a long time, Harry's mind seemed to freeze when he saw the name appear in front of him.
He looked at Riddle blankly, this was the man, who had been an orphan with both parents dead, and had actually killed his own parents when he became an adult, and so many others
"No, you're not. Harry forced himself to speak, his calm voice filled with hatred.
"What's not?" Riddle asked sharply.
"Not the greatest wizard in the world!" Harry said breathlessly, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the greatest wizard in the world is Albus Dumbledore." Everybody says so. Even when you are powerful, you don't dare to try to control Hogwarts. Dumbledore saw you through when you were in school, and he still scares you, no matter where you're hiding these days. ”
The smile on Riddle's face vanished, replaced by a very ugly expression.
"Dumbledore didn't believe me throughout, I knew it the first time I saw him in the orphanage. Riddle snapped, "But it doesn't matter, I know many spells he never dared to imagine, and I'm the most powerful." Now, tell me everything, Harry Potter. As long as your words last, you and the little mudblood next to you can last as long. ”
"No one knows why you suddenly lost your strength when you attacked me. Harry said stiffly, "I don't know it myself, but I know why you didn't kill me." It's the same as Evan said, because my mother died to save me, and she defeated you with her love for me!"
Harry trembled as he tried desperately to suppress his anger, "She stopped you from killing me, I saw the real you, and I saw you again last year. All you're left with is a pile of rags, half-dead. Look at your supernatural powers, but you ended up in this end. You're hiding in Tibet, you're ugly, it's disgusting!"
Riddle's face contorted, and then he forced another sinister smile.
"I see, your mother died to save you. Not some ridiculous motherly love, but a powerful spell. Yes, that's a very effective spell solution, I understand it now! After all, there's nothing special about you, you just escaped from me by luck. ”
Riddle turned to look at the Slytherin statue, the sinister smile on his face even more pronounced.
"Now, let's see if you and the Mudbloods next to you have the luck to escape from the greatest dark wizard of all time once again. ”
There was a hissing sound from inside his mouth, and Slytherin's massive stone face moved.
Its mouth opened and grew wider and wider, eventually forming a huge black hole.
Evan looked up at the face of the Slytherin stone statue that was high in the darkness. Immediately afterward, he saw the diary he had not found, and it was placed on top of the statue.
The basilisk slowly slipped out of the statue, its body covered in scars and not as imposing as it had first seen in the Gryffindor common room, Snape's attacks and the crows of the rooster making it look unusually tired and weak.
But for the two little wizards, the basilisk was still deadly, no matter how weak it was.
"Kill them!" Riddle shouted frantically.
The basilisk quickly slid towards them, and Aven's wand emitted an attacking orange glow, an eye curse, but it was dissolved by Riddle's spell.
"It's stupid to think I'm going to let you use the same trick twice. Riddle screamed, "Mudbloods, taste death"
Before he could finish his sentence, a burst of music suddenly remembered in the empty chamber.
The voice is illusory, ethereal and mysterious, and it is exciting to listen to.
Evan saw a crimson bird suddenly fall from the sky, the size of a crane, playing its strange music on the vaulted ceiling. It has a gleaming golden tail, as long as a peacock's tail, and a pair of glittering claws that clutch a tattered package on it.
"It's Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix!"
It flew over quickly, tossing the tattered thing from its paw at the feet of the two of them, and Evan could see that it was the school's broken sorting hat.
"It's funny!"
Riddle burst out laughing, so hard that the dark Chamber trembled slightly, as if there were ten Riddles laughing out loud at the same time, "This is what Dumbledore gave his protector, a singing bird and a broken hat! Do you feel guts? Do you feel safe?"
As soon as his voice fell, he saw Fawkes fly head-on towards the basilisk, circling around its head.
The basilisk angrily lunged at the phoenix, fangs as thin as a saber peeking out of its mouth.
But it didn't work, and Fawkes swooped down, its long golden beak digging into the basilisk's head. It sang a strange song from its mouth, and every now and then it aimed at the basilisk's scaly nose, pecking here and there, black blood gushing out of the basilisk's eyes, and its eyes were pecked blind.
"No, kill those two boys! Get out of that bird, the boys are behind you!" Riddle screamed.
"Harry, believe in yourself. Evan shoved the Sorting Hat on the ground into Harry's hand, and he turned and ran towards the Slytherin statue, shouting as he ran, "I'm going to get the journal, you have to destroy it." ”
Harry stared blankly at the patched Sorting Hat in his hand, wondering what Evan meant and what it could do.
Then, as if his hand had touched a long, hard thing inside the hat, he looked down to see a shining silver sword appearing in the hat, and the hilt of the sword was studded with a dazzling egg-sized ruby.
Harry pulled it out, the ruby gleaming faintly on the hilt.
A proof of courage, the sword of Gryffindor!
