It's not impossible to play with individuality, but you have to understand that individuality means a minority. If the base is small, the number of people with the same hobbies may not be very large.

Having said so much irrelevant, let's come back and talk about these eighteen Arhats, which eighteen they are.

In fact, in the beginning, there were only sixteen Arhats. The term "Sixteen Arhats" should have been used since the early years of the Tang Dynasty, and these sixteen were all disciples of Shakyamuni, and there were indeed people in history. It was not until the end of the Tang Dynasty that the eighteen Arhats began to appear. By the time of the Song Dynasty, the Eighteen Arhats began to prevail.

The word arhat is a Sanskrit transliteration, and it has three meanings. The "killing thief" is not killing people, but the six thieves mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures. The word "provision" means that the arhats are supported. The other is "unborn" or "lifeless", which means immortal and immortal.

Legend has it that arhats were originally the ultimate goal pursued by Theravada Buddhism. However, under the persuasion and encouragement of the Buddha Shakyamuni, all the arhats abandoned Theravada Buddhism and began to practice Mahayana Buddhism. "Past Lives of Nirvana" helped to maintain Mahayana Buddhism, so that in Mahayana Buddhism the arhats also had their new status and deeds.

These eighteen Arhats are: Sitting on the Deer, Joyful Arhat, Raising the Bowl, Tota Arhat, Meditation Arhat, Crossing the River Arhat, Elephant Riding Arhat, Laughing Lion Arhat, Happy Arhat, Detective Arhat, Contemplative Arhat, Ear-digging Arhat, Cloth Bag Arhat, Basho Arhat, Long-eyebrow Arhat, Gatekeeper Arhat, Dragon Descending Arhat, and Tiger Arhat.

As we said earlier, there were only 16 of these 18 Arhats. And this dragon descending Arhat and the Fuhu Arhat are made up by the latecomers.

This has become a god, and it will not die or die, and it will have to watch the door, how sad the life of this Buddha is.

The one that Li Yu carved out one day yesterday was the Dragon Descending Arhat. Speaking of this dragon descending Arhat, you must only know his name but not his person. But if you talk about one person, I'm afraid everyone will suddenly understand.

Who is this Venerable Dharma named Dao Ji, and his real name is Li Xiuyuan. It is also called Jidian monk, that is, the famous Jigong is also. There must be no need to say anything about this master's glorious deeds.

This Jigong is a sloppy classic character, just think about it, the image that Li Yu carved yesterday can't be seen well.

This is also difficult, Li Yu's wife looks awkward. Don't say it's Li Yu's wife, but if he just finds someone who hasn't been exposed to these things to show him, he won't think that the appearance of that kind of person will be an Arhat in Buddhism.

However, as we said, the so-called arhat itself is the equivalent of hair care in Buddhism, so it is not uncommon for people to have strange faces.

In fact, if you go to more places, see more ancient murals or some relatively well-preserved grottoes, etc., you will find that in fact, many gods and Buddhas in ancient times are not individuals.

Li Yu once went to SX's Yungang Grottoes. Yungang Grottoes is the most well-preserved grotto group in China, and the Buddha statue there has been carved since the Northern Wei Dynasty.

The stone Buddha there can be regarded as the basic shape when it was first introduced to China. It is indeed very different from what we know now.

What is the concept of these 500 meshes? It is probably a carpenter making furniture, and finally found that the surface is not smooth enough, so he uses it for leveling. As soon as the wood slips on it, you have to make a small corner.

If Li Yu worked so hard to carve out the olive core, it would be a lot of fun if he rubbed it on it. Li Yu needs 1000 to 1500 pieces of sandpaper.

Li Yu ran half the city, and only then did he buy a few pieces of 1200 mesh sandpaper. Not to mention, the quality of this sandpaper is very good, and it is all imported from RB.

Don't dislike it, don't look at this little piece of sandpaper, it's really useless to use domestic ones at this time. Not only is the paper brittle and breaks when a pinch is made, but the grit on it is also very easy to fall off, which is not useful at all.

Li Yu first cut the sandpaper into finger-wide strips, and then carefully grinded back and forth on the raised part of the nuclear carving. It's also a delicate job. If you move a little, you will have to damage the carving.

However, it is much easier than when engraving. It didn't take long for Li Yu to deal with it. Put down the sandpaper and brush it again with a small brush.

Only then did he take out a small ziplock bag and put the engraved olive pit in, and deliberately added a little more olive oil when loading, which also played a protective role.

After packing the bag, Li Yu used another layer of plastic wrap to wrap it outside. It was put into a box for a watch that I had bought before.

The dragon descending Arhat is considered to be completed, and then Li Yu is ready to engrave the Tiger Arhat, this is also an Arhat made up by later generations.

This Arhat's popularity is much worse, and this Fuhu is not the same as Wu Song and Dian Wei. Legend has it that this arhat is because tigers outside the temple often howl because they are hungry.

The Tiger Arhat could not bear to starve, so he gave his own food to the tiger. Over time, the tiger was domesticated by him. This is how the dignity of the Tiger Arhat came about.

And this Arhat is much more delicate than his predecessors, and he is kind and kind. Li Yu is more particular, and he really has information on traditional patterns.

Unlike in later generations, those merchants did not seek to understand. I heard that it was the Fuhu Arhat who was associated with the tiger fight, and the carved out was simply Lu Zhishen fighting the tiger!

Although this carving is not as exaggerated as the previous one, it is more difficult. Those who have studied art must understand that the more sparse this expression is, the more difficult it is to draw a character with few lines. It's really not easy for Li Yu to show kindness.
