Chapter 1: Turbulence
Somewhere in Malibu, Los Angeles
By the time Harvey Weinstein arrived at this upscale club in Malibu Beach, it was late, but he wasn't there to play golf. After navigating several corridors, he came upstairs to a relatively private reception room.
When he knocked on the door, he was surprised to find that there were so many people in the room, and the reception room, which was decorated in imitation of a classic French salon, was full of behind-the-scenes figures from the Hollywood film industry.
From cinematographer to editor, from assistant director to executive producer, Jerry has seen many veteran members of Hollywood who have gone through decades of ups and downs, and many of them are veteran members of the Academy of Sciences.
As the first person in Hollywood in the college's public relations, in addition to the acting stars who want to show their talents in the awards season every year, Harvey Weinstein has the most contact with and knows the most about these veterans in the industry who hold the Oscar ticket.
Although they are not as famous as Spielberg in terms of fame, and they are not as powerful as major studio leaders like Michael Eisner, their influence during the awards season is unmatched.
"So you've all seen this, haven't you?" said one of the leading old men, "pop!" and threw a newspaper on the small round table.
It's a Los Angeles Times newspaper, and on one page of the entertainment section is a movie advertisement that reads, "The world's first high-definition digital film β Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." β
"Digital photography!" "The lead man said the name of the demon Satan, with a look of disgust on his face, "We thought that bastard George Lucas would be the first guy to do the high-definition shooting. But I didn't expect Sid Leon, a kid, to get involved with Lucas. β
The faces of the people present were a little ugly, and many of them were photographers and editors, who were the most sensitive to the use of high-definition digital cameras.
Truth be told, even Harvey Weinstein couldn't understand where Hollywood's antipathy to digital cameras came from.
Because for the film industry, the iteration of technology has always been going on, even if not to mention the sound and color films of decades ago. In recent years, with the rapid development and promotion of computer technology, the process of film production, such as editing, mixing, music, sound effects, etc., has gradually become digital.
On the contrary, it is the camera that maintains the strong position of the film camera despite the resistance of many old-school people.
"Then we'll decide. While Harvey Weinstein was still thinking, everyone in the room had already come to a conclusion, "We must work together to stop Lucas and Sid, or the future of Hollywood will be ruined by these two guys!"
"So what do we do?" someone asked.
"Quite simply, doesn't Sid want to win an Oscar? The old director in the lead said.
And so it was.
Even if the other party succeeds this time, it is difficult to say what real impact it will have on characters like Lucas and Sid. Because they are all bosses with their own companies, not just directors.
Moreover, the latter's group company has even been in the limelight above DreamWorks in the past two years, so in the end, the conclusion of the discussion in this room can only start with the Oscars and other award seasons.
Harvey Weinstein thought coldly, although he was skeptical about how many House members the other party could mobilize to join this "Ludd Movement", after all, Sid Leon, as the darling of the West Coast, was naturally very popular with a large number of House members.

"Well, the flutter here is still a bit fake. Sid pointed to Voldemort in a black hood on the big screen and turned to the special effects.
"Do you mean the fluttering of clothes?" asked the special effects artist, confused.
"No, it's not about clothes. Sid shook his head and redirected to the shot of the man in black flying towards Harry Potter Jr., "It's all about the way you move, I want to fly, not float." Something like Superman is called flying. But if it's like sliding over with a rope, it's called floating. β
After Sid explained, he pointed to the camera on the screen with some dissatisfaction and said: "So, Voldemort's flight must have a sense of power and charge, just like Disney's animated characters, charge up and fly." In this way, we can create the required sense of oppression. β
"But wouldn't that be too scary?" asked Justin Lin, the assistant director, "after all, this is a movie for kids." β
"As long as we control the duration and angle of this kind of horrific shot. Sid explained, "After all, this is Voldemort's first appearance in a movie, and if he doesn't show the oppression he deserves, then it's not only bad for the film, but also bad for the whole series." β
Just as Sid was about to explain, his phone suddenly "buzzed-" and vibrate, Sid picked it up and looked at it, and the name displayed on it couldn't help but make him raise his eyebrows.
"Guys, let's take a five-minute break. Sid picked up the phone and spoke to the crew around him, and then he stood up and walked out of the special effects studio.
Then he answered the phone, "Hey, Mr. Lucas?"
Immediately, there was a hearty laugh from the other side: "It's Sid, right? I'm George." β
"Yes, I'm Sid. Sid nodded, he was not in a hurry, although he didn't know why George Lucas, a Hollywood celebrity, suddenly called him, but this did not prevent Sid from slowly maneuvering with the other party.
After a few words of greeting, George Lucas on the other side couldn't help but speak: "Sid, have you heard about that news recently?"
"What's the newsβwhat news?" Sid shook his head.
Hollywood may seem light on the surface, but in reality, countless gossips are born every day, although the vast majority of them are quickly proven to be true and disappear. But Sid is not a gossip paparazzi, how can he bother with these aspects, unless it is a report from his subordinates, or Ali Emmanuel's agent has made a special trip to inform him.
Otherwise, Sid wouldn't have wasted his energy on pointless gossip.
"Hehe, it seems that you are really laid-back. Lucas laughs, and then he tells Sid about the secret matter of "punishing" them, the old and the young, because of the promotion of digital photography.
"Hehe, it seems that we have become a thorn in the side of many people. Sid quipped with a smile.
