Chapter 14 DV
"Have you ever acted?" Sid felt that his instinct just now was really right, and the seemingly ordinary man in front of him really had some background, "Have you ever acted anything I've seen?"
"Haha, that's going to disappoint you. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info" Jeremy laughed heartily, but Sid keenly noticed the loneliness under his smile, "I have only played some inconspicuous TV series, inconspicuous small supporting roles and tricks, and as you can see, I am a neither handsome nor strong actor, Hollywood has not 10,000 but 8,000, you must not have seen me." ā
"I think whether handsome or not, strong or not is not the most important quality of an actor, solid acting skills and indomitable spirit are. You see, when Meryl Streep was young, she was still regarded as an ugly girl by the investors of "King Kong", but decades later, who still remembers who the heroine of "King Kong" is? Sid explained to Jeremy.
"Also, I prefer to be a chess player to a chess player, especially one who can dominate the story. Sid smiled confidently.
"You're going to be a screenwriter?" Jeremy asked in surprise.
"Hollywood's screenwriter welfare is too poor, being a screenwriter is not as good as being a novelist, at least the copyright protection is better. Sid shrugged.
"And you're going to ......?" Jeremy was completely confused.
"Okay, don't tease you, I want to be a director! And Spielberg's kind of director who is his own boss. Sid said the earth-shattering words with ease.
"Director!?
"Hey, Jeremy, watch the road!" Sid quickly pointed to the front of the car, "I don't want to die young yet!"
"Oh, I'm sorry. Jeremy slowed down, then looked at Sid again and again.
"Well, just say whatever you want. Sid shrugged helplessly.
"Phew, then I'm rude. Jeremy took a deep breath, "It's not me who hits you, but, what the hell are you thinking!? You are too young to be an assistant on the set at your current age, to be a director? Hollywood is not as simple as you think! Without strength, others will not take you seriously at all, even if you have strength, you can't get ahead without a chance or luck." ā
Hearing Jeremy's excited words, Sid not only didn't get angry, but applauded, "That's right, strength is always the most important capital in Hollywood, then Jeremy, you haven't seen my strength, how do you know that I can't do it?"
Jeremy was about to say something, but Sid stretched out his hand to stop: "Moreover, you are already thirty years old, and you don't give up your dreams, why can't I pursue my dreams when I'm sixteen? ā
Jeremy's face suddenly changed several colors, and finally he let out a long sigh, "Huh~~ You're right, I'm too arbitrary." ā
"No, I want to thank you, people don't usually say things for the sake of each other to someone they meet for the first time. Sid patted Jeremy on the shoulder, and Jeremy was relieved, Sid's precocious attitude and demeanor made him naturally see the other party as a peer who communicated on an equal footing, rather than a teenager of the younger generation.
"Do you know DV?" asked Sid.
"You mean the kind of small camera that is used to shoot images? I've seen it, but it seems to be very expensive, and only wealthy families buy it, and it's usually just a family event like a wedding or a spring outing. Jeremy said.
"What would you like if we used a DV machine to make a movie?" Sid asked with a smile.
"Are you saying that it's like making a movie, using a DV camera instead of a camera? Wouldn't that be too bad, I remember that the picture quality of a DV camera is similar to that of a TV, and the difference between it and motion picture film is still obvious. Jeremy said worriedly.
"No, no, I'm not talking about replacing cameras with DV. Sid waved his hand, "Well, you and your girlfriend hear strange noises in the house every night, but we can't find the reason for the sound, so you buy a DV machine and put it in your room, hoping to take pictures of what happens when you fall asleep." And strange things started to happen at night......"
Sid deliberately lowered his voice, which made Jeremy involuntarily creepy, "What happened!?"
"On the first night, the door of the room, which was still at rest, suddenly moved. Sid said with a malicious smile, "The next day, there are footsteps in the hallway, your girlfriend wakes you up, and you are about to check it out, when the door to your room suddenly closes and there is a terrible roar. And all of this was 'just right' captured by your DV camera, and after you 'disappeared', the police edited the DV footage they found and put it in the cinema for the audience to watch. ā
"Then everybody thinks it's really happening, not a movie!" Jeremy said excitedly, "and it's going to be scarier than any horror movie in history, because everybody thinks it's real!"
"Yes, yes, Jeremy, you have a good understanding. Sid laughed and applauded.
"That, that, Sid. Jeremy squirmed.
Sid looked at him with a smile, just like a silver gentleman sees a drug, and a good actor will be attracted to fidgeting when he sees a good script, "Want to act?" Sid asked as if playing.
"Hmm!" Jeremy nodded heavily, having been in Hollywood for nearly ten years, Jeremy knew that a good opportunity was more precious than gold and scarcer than diamonds. If you do, you must hold it firmly in your hands, otherwise you will regret it.
"Don't be so nervous, I won't subtly rule you. Looking at a nervous Jeremy, Sid quipped with a smile.
Jeremy let out a sigh of relief and laughed, "Is there anything I can do to help?" Sid...... Director. ā
"Well, I do need a few reliable actors and some rental equipment, you don't know about that, do you?" Sid smiled.

"By the way, what do you think?" asked Montgomery's editor-in-chief in the smoking room of the publishing house.
"Eh, editor-in-chief, you mean The Da Vinci Code?" asked Durant, confused.
"No, I mean Sid. Montgomery took a deep puff of his cigarette.
"Sid, genius, I think. Durant paused and continued, "I haven't met many authors, but it's rare for him to reach such a sophisticated level of storytelling. ā
"No, not just at the story level. Montgomery's editor-in-chief continued, "And his handling skills, I have never seen such a young man who is so resistant to pressure and has such an old and spicy wrist." ā
"That's true. Durant nodded repeatedly, "It feels like an old soul living in his young body." ā
(āvā) Well, that's a pretty good description. The Montgomery editor tapped the cigarette ash and nodded, "I've seen his profile, and it says he's an orphan whose parents died when he was a child." may be this reason, so his childhood experience is also different from ordinary people, which led to his precocious youth. "The more I get in touch with him, the more I feel like I'm with someone my age." ā
"Yes, that's good. Durant nodded in agreement, "And when I say he's a genius, I'm not talking nonsense." I've heard Sid say that he's been writing since he was six years old, the same age Mozart studied piano. ā
"Six!?" Montgomery couldn't help but look surprised when he first heard about it, "Ahh
"What's wrong, editor-in-chief?" Durant asked, surprised.
"You say Sid has been writing novels since he was six years old?" asked Montgomery's editor-in-chief confirmed.
"yes, editor-in-chief, that's what he said. "Durant doesn't understand what's going on yet.
"Then The Da Vinci Code is definitely not his first novel?" asked Montgomery's editor-in-chief quickly.
"Yes, Sid says it's just a novel he's written recently......" Speaking of which, Durant also understood what Montgomery meant.
"Yes, then he only signed a contract with us for one novel, and he didn't sign an exclusive writer's agreement. Montgomery's editor-in-chief gritted his teeth and said, "He obviously decided that he would not be limited to a publishing house, carelessly, but he didn't expect this kid to hide so deeply." ā
"But does such a calculation make sense?" Durant asked suspiciously, "If The Da Vinci Code doesn't succeed, then won't he even have the most basic one-year writer's salary?"
"It seems to be old and spicy, but in fact it is bold, this kid is by no means a simple character, he has both sophisticated skills and bold spirit. Montgomery's editor-in-chief smiled slightly, "He's planning to become a benevolent person if he doesn't succeed." ā
