Chapter 48: Selene (1)
Gravity is stripped from the body, and the muscles, muscles, and even every cell become unreal, as if they are no longer under their control.
It's not the first time Patrick has been on the universe, but he's forgotten what it's like to experience weightlessness for the first time, maybe just like he does now.
"Are you alright?" asked Patrick, adjusting using the exoskeleton's thrusters.
"I'm fine, master. ”
"It should ...... Float, float!"
Patrick hurried to grab Lunessia.
"Calm down, we're in the universe right now. ”
"Universe?!"
"Be quiet," Patrick said lightly, "inside the Southern Union space station, to be exact. ”
Lunicia almost screamed again, and quickly covered her mouth.
"Are you going to take her with you? Patrick. Madness asked.
"Or else, send her back here with the only teleporter...... Our position will be revealed right away, won't we?"
"Yes, but ......," madness sighed, "well, whatever you want. ”
"Listen, do as I command," Patrick said to Lunicia again, "if you want everyone to get out alive." ”
Lunicia kept nodding her head in agreement.
Patrick patted her head lightly to make her head sober. He looked around and made sure they were on the supply ship bound for Selene, and that Frenzy had done it at the last critical moment, and that they were able to use the Collapse Teleportation to reach the universe directly.
Large and small boxes were fixed to the wall behind them - the floor to be exact, and they were now facing the ceiling.
Noticeable noises and tremors told Patrick that they had arrived. The sound of air currents came from the direction they were facing, and it seemed that this was where the space station unloaded the interface.
Patrick quickly pulled Lunicia to the corner on the side of the hatch, and G41 was in position opposite at the same time.
The hatch slowly opened, and two space station staff floated in, intending to check supplies. They didn't immediately spot the two Hades lurking on the left and right, until they noticed that their colleague behind them was dragging a string of blood beads floating over.
Patrick and G41 both raised their guns to kill them, and although they were unarmed, the enemy was the enemy after all, and they would most likely trigger the alarm immediately.
"Safe. He said coldly.
"Temporarily. ”
Patrick hid the corpses between the cargo and the walls, stuffing a bomb in the arms of each corpse. Sooner or later, their companions would notice the anomaly and know something was wrong at the sight of the flying blood droplets, and by the time they examined the bodies, the bombs would blow up the supply ship.
"You used all the explosives?" asked the madman.
"Well, that's all there is to it. ”
"Trouble, what can a demolitionist do without explosives?"
Patrick didn't like it, but he didn't know if he should admit it.
In the upper right corner of the head-up display, a stereoscopic image appears, which is a map of the Selene space station. The cylindrical body, one-third of which is a newly built railgun, has three parallel tracks that stab downward like sharp swords towards the earth. At the end of the cylindrical shape are spiral-unfolded solar panels, which absorb the sun's rays like an umbrella and take on the responsibility of supplying energy for the entire space station. A little further in, there are four subdivisions of the space station, which extend horizontally at 90 degrees from each other with the main body as the center, and they are at the end of one of them.
"What are your plans?"
"Of course," said the madman, "we're here to get the Selene, and we need to have enough equipment first. ”
Berserker sets up a waypoint in the partition opposite them.
"Where is that?"
"One of the arsenals on the space station had what we needed. ”
"Isn't there anything closer?" asked Patrick, in a very straight line, and he felt rather unstable.
"Don't worry, it's enough to follow my lead. ”
That's all I have to do.
With a pistol in one hand and Lunicia in the other, Patrick moved smoothly forward with his thrusters, while G41 was responsible for clearing the way ahead. They followed the frenzied signs, and every time they stopped and hid in a corner, the figure of the enemy passed in front of them.
The space station, which appears to be peaceful, is actually completely controlled by a mad artificial intelligence, and Patrick can't imagine how terrible it is. Perhaps he should be glad that this AI is on their side.
Another group of centaurs passed by them, going in the same direction they had come. Patrick frowned, their invasion of the space station would soon be discovered.
They kept going, their wildly accurate calculations helping them avoid the enemy's vision time and time again. The farther he walked towards the center, the more Southern soldiers Patrick saw with guns in hand. Most of them are equipped with particle beam weapons, and their helmets and costumes are fully enclosed, but they are very lightweight. Patrick found no external AED-like devices on them, and while it's not certain if they're TASA or not, it at least means that it will be easier to deal with them.
The soldier was chatting about something, and his tone did not seem pleasant. Patrick guessed that it was Zvado's order, and the garrison of "Selene" suddenly increased a lot. They slipped through the aisle on the other side and stopped at the point where they were about to enter the hub. The peculiar spherical guide area divides the zones, with different colored cursors being the only counters to the zones, connecting the two loops horizontally and vertically.
When they think of the opposite side, they have to cross a semicircle, and the hub is the most crowded place, and it is very difficult to pass through it without being detected.
But madness will do it, for example, turning off the lights is a good idea.
Faced with the sudden darkness, the people on the space station first collectively screamed, and then became noisy. They weren't alert at all, Patrick thought. They lay on the ground, and the manipulator latched to the metal floor, jumping forward step by step.
The guard with the gun turned on the flashlight to illuminate it, and Patrick quickly stopped and grabbed Lunicia by the shoulder. Before the enemy could turn, he pushed his hand to the right, sending them to the left, and then steadied himself and sent his body forward, bypassing the guards. Patrick rushed to G41's side, pointed at the head, then gave a hard push, turned and climbed to the ceiling.
They passed through the hub, power was restored, and the next thing they did was to follow the mad guidance to avoid the enemy's sight.
Arriving at the armory door, Patrick placed his hand on the panel, and in less than a second, the mechanical door opened.
"This bomb ......" Patrick checked the item and picked up a black box, "I still can't figure out why the space station needs a bomb." ”
"Who knows. ”
Patrick loaded as many explosives as he could, then looked at the next inventory.
"What is this?" Patrick picked up a square machine with holes in the corners and a small particle beam weapon underneath.
"Four-cornered drones, adapt to weightless and airless drones," said madness, "just start them all and I'll control them." ”
Patrick followed his instructions and the drone's four blowholes emitted a faint blue glow that floated steadily.
"As for this," Patrick began to explain as he picked up a small suitcase-like object, "a portable automatic turret that can be attached to many surfaces. ”
"Don't you have any names?" he said, taking two with him.
"It looks like they're all experiments, and they don't have an official name. ”
"Really......"
Patrick tidied up his backpack and fastened the harness on his back.
"G41, go find a thruster set for Lunicia to put on. ”
"But I won't ......."
"Crazy to manipulate," Patrick said, "I don't want to drag you around in the middle of a firefight, and you don't want to ...... either"
There was a vibration on the wall, and Patrick heard a thunderous sound, followed by a loud siren.
"Excellent......" he whispered, drawing his pistol and holding it in his hand.
