Six Flags Amusement Park was originally a private park called Great Adventure, but after being acquired by Six Flags more than a decade ago, it has expanded and added new facilities almost every year.

The newest roller coaster, called "Kingda Ka", is the fastest roller coaster in the world, reaching a height of 139 meters. At the beginning, the water pressure catapult increases the speed of the vehicle to 206 kilometers per hour, passing through a circular passage of 270 degrees, giving a strong sense of weightlessness.

Also new is the 44,500-square-metre jungle Golden Kingdom, where children can watch a tiger show while riding a motorcycle.

According to the Associated Press, the world's longest and steepest wooden roller coaster, claimed to be the world's longest and steepest, opened to the public for the first time on June 12, 2006 at the Six Flags "Grand Adventure" amusement park in Jackson, New Jersey, USA. Passengers on that roller coaster are screaming. The wooden roller coaster has 4,440 feet (1,320 meters) of tracks, a height of 188 feet (56.4 meters), an incline of 76 degrees, and a speed of 102 kilometers per hour. Amusement park officials say it's the world's largest wooden roller coaster.

It climbed to a starting altitude of about 61 meters, broke free from gravity at a speed of 112 kilometers, and was weightless for a full 3 minutes, with a total length of about 800 meters.
