Chapter 1: Jiang Liuer

"Little monk, barehead, robe. The small wooden fish knocks on the jingle bell, recites the Buddha and burns incense. A, Ni, Buddha, Buddha. Chanting Buddha and burning incense. "A seventeen or eight-year-old little monk with clear eyebrows and beautiful eyes, wearing a white monk's robe. Humming a song from nowhere.

"Jiang Liu'er, are you lazy again?" It turned out that the monk's name was Jiang Liu'er. The big monk of about ten or forty shouted majestically at the little monk.

"Well, master, I'm not lazy. Just don't know what to do. Jiang Liuer said aggrievedly.

"Didn't I ask you to recite the Sutras, how did you memorize the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra?" the great monk asked.

"Well, it's back, it's ......" Jiang Liu'er hummed for a long time, and she didn't know what she was doing.

"If you memorize it, you will memorize it, and if you don't have it, you won't have it. Hmmm, what?" said the great monk softly.

"Well, the game is so much fun. I didn't carry it. Jiang Liu'er said wiltedly.

"What game? What game? Are you playing a game on my phone again?......" The great monk didn't react at first, but then he couldn't speak in anger.

"Master, don't be angry, this temple is just the two of us. You make me memorize scriptures every day, I'm bored. Jiang Liuer said aggrievedly.

"Well, I'm not angry. Then let me ask you, how much did you charge for the first time you played the game?" the great monk asked.

"Hmm, it should, probably, maybe, almost, well......" Jiang Liu'er was down again.

Say. The great monk asked a little threateningly.

"Well, seven thousand five. Jiang Liu'er replied quickly.

"And what about the second time?"

"Fifteen thousand. ”

"What about the third time?"

"Thirty thousand. ”

"How many times has this been?"

"The eighteenth. ”

"How much money did you charge this time?"

"Master, I didn't charge the money this time. Jiang Liu'er said with a sparkling look in her eyes.

"Didn't charge the money?" asked the great monk with a look of distrust.

"Well, I didn't charge the money. Jiang Liuer said.

"That's it, it's ......" Jiang Liu'er wanted to say something, but didn't say it.

"What's it?" the great monk looked at Jiang Liu'er directly.

"Well, I sold all the Buddha statues and donated them. Jiang Liu'er replied wiltedly.

"What?" the great monk looked at Jiang Liu'er dumbfounded.

"I sold the Buddha statue and donated the money from the sale to the Children's Relief Foundation. Jiang Liu'er looked up at the great monk, and there was no trace of guilt on his face. That's right, guilt.

Because the great monk fainted.

"Master, what's wrong with you, master?" Jiang Liu'er panicked and shook the great monk.

Then he took off his pants and took out his little dingding, which was booming.

"It's raining, it's raining!" the great monk shouted in panic.

"It's still a good trick. Jiang Liu'er muttered.

"Jiang Liu'er, the master-apprentice relationship between you and me has ended so far. Let's go. The great monk did it and said softly.

"Master, you want to drive me away, I'm your only apprentice. Who will provide for you in the future? Who will send you to the end?" Jiang Liu'er said aggrievedly.

"The children of the Buddhist family, when they have practiced, they naturally want to go to the West Heaven. Ani Buddha. The great monk whispered.

"I'm young, not yet eighteen. You are my legal guardian. If you don't care about me, you're breaking the law. Jiang Liu'er looked at the big monk and said.

"You're seven years old, and you've spent more than a million dollars just playing this game. Donated Buddha statues six times. I bought it six times. Six times nearly 10 million. I can't afford to raise you at the age of eighteen. "The big monk doesn't have the face of a monk, like the face of a small person in the market. He shouted with his teeth and claws.

"The Buddha said that money is something outside the body, and it is not brought by life and not taken with it by death. Jiang Liu'er looked at the great monk and said.

"Which Buddha said that?" the great monk asked with a glare.

"Well, my Buddha said. Jiang Liuer said.

"You're talking nonsense again!" said the great monk as he glared at Jiang Liu'er.

"The master said that I just talked nonsense. Jiang Liu'er didn't argue, and looked at the great monk with shining eyes.

"Well, take your time. You...... Never mind. Tomorrow come down the mountain with me, and turn into a fate. The great monk sighed. I wanted to say something, but I didn't say it.

"Hmm, master, did you finally let me go down the mountain? Great!" Jiang Liu'er was very happy.

After the great monk finished speaking, he left, leaving Jiang Liu'er in place.

At noon, Jiang Liuer had just eaten fast. A group of people came to the temple.

"Little monk, who sells the Buddha statues, and where are the Buddha statues?" asked the leader.

"Well, the Buddha statue is in the Buddha hall, you can move it yourself. Jiang Liu'er looked at the man and said.

The man instructed the crowd to bring the Buddha statue into the Buddha hall and carry the Buddha statue.

Two hours later, the Buddha statue on the Buddha hall was moved.

And the great monk has been watching from a corner.

Night often comes quickly, and Jiang Liu'er comes to the house of the great monk.

"Master. ”

"What's the matter?"

"My master and I came to discuss the Dharma. ”

"What are you discussing?" the great monk closed his eyes and did not look at Jiang Liu'er.

"Hmm, to explore whether sentient beings are good or evil?"

"And what do you say is good?"

"Good means the absence of evil thoughts. ”

"What is evil, then?"

"Evil is the absence of good thoughts. ”

"Doesn't that mean you didn't say anything?"

"Well, the Buddhist scriptures say that if you add no record, then you are collectively called the 'three natures'. Generally speaking, good refers to reason, and evil refers to reason. However, there are many different sayings in the sutras, and according to the meaning of the fifth volume of the Enlightenment Treatise, it is good to be able to benefit the flawed and non-omissioned actions in this life and other lives, and conversely, to be evil in the actions that are violated in this life and in other lives. The distinction between good and evil is the difference between good and bad. And both good and evil must run through this life and other lives, otherwise it is unremembered. For example, the happiness of man and heaven is beneficial in this life, but it is not beneficial in other lives, so it is not good, but has no memory. And like the bitter fruit of evil pleasures, although it is a violation in this life, it is not a violation in other lives, so it is not evil, but has no memory.

The wisdom of Jingying Temple is far from the Mahayana chapter 12, and explains the name of good and evil in terms of the five vehicles of man, heaven, two vehicles, bodhisattvas, and Buddhas. That is: (1) Good is good, and bad is evil. That is, to take the good dharma cultivated by the five vehicles as good, to be able to induce the causes of the retribution of the three paths, and to retribution the karma of the suffering fruits of people and the heavens, etc., are called evil. (2) Reason is good, and unreason is evil. Rationality refers to the absence of phase emptiness. The good dharma practiced by the Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and the two vehicles is good, and the good dharma practiced by humans and the heavens is for the sake of doing so, so it is evil. (3) Obedience is good, and disobedience is evil. The body is the self-body of oneself, that is, the true nature of the Dharma realm. According to this sense, all the good deeds that are cultivated by the Five Vehicles are evil.

There are six kinds of good and evil established by the Tiantai sect, namely: (1) the goodness of man and heaven. It refers to the five precepts, the ten virtues, and other things that are good. However, because when the fruits of human beings and heaven are exhausted, they will still fall into the evil paths of the three paths (hell, hungry ghosts, and animals), so they are also evil. (2) The goodness of the two vehicles. A person who is able to stay away from the suffering of the Three Realms (the realm of desire, the realm of color, and the realm of colorlessness) is therefore good, but although a person of the Two-Vehicles can save himself, he cannot save himself, so he is also evil. (3) The goodness of Hinayana bodhisattvas. Hinayana bodhisattvas are compassionate and benevolent, so they are good, but because they are not in themselves, they are also evil. (4) The goodness of the three vehicles of general education. The three vehicles are the same as the afflictions of forbearance, so they are good, but because they have not seen the principles of the middle way of other religions, and have not broken a single point of ignorance, they are also evil. (5) Don't teach the goodness of the Bodhisattva. However, because the middle path that they see is the middle way of the calendar (the middle way of separation and does not integrate with the middle way), not the middle way of the Yuanjiao, their actions are convenient, unreasonable, and evil. (6) The goodness of the Bodhisattva. The wonderful principle of the circle as seen by the Yuanjiao Bodhisattva is the ultimate good, but it is also evil in terms of the two meanings of 'shun, back' and 'attainment'. 'Shun and back' means that the circle of truth that follows the reality is good, and the back is evil; 'attainment, grasping' means that attaining this circle is good, and attaching to the circle is evil. The second meaning is to distinguish between good and evil by attaining and distinguishing between the two, which is a unique theory of the Tiantai sect. But I don't understand. ”

"Don't understand what?"

"Don't know how to embody goodness?"

The great monk suddenly opened his eyes and looked at Jiang Liu'er.

"Good is the heart, and evil is the heart. There is no good and no evil. There is no good without evil. To be without good and evil is to be without heart. All beings are both good and evil. Both evil and good. It can't be reflected. ”

"Hmm, am I selling Buddha statues good or evil?"

"When you sell Buddha statues, you have no intention, that is, there is no good and no evil. ”

"Even if I have no intention, why is the master sad?"

"You ......" the great monk looked at Jiang Liu'er and didn't speak.

A big monk and a small monk just looked at each other. Five minutes have passed.

The great monk said, "I am a human being, and I have not yet become a Buddha." There is greed. ”

"Well, I see, master, I'm going to sleep. ”
