Chapter 58: Tao and Virtue

When we hear others talk about morality, we can quickly think of Lao Tzu Li Er. We don't know much about Lao Tzu riding a green ox to send a letter to Guguan and writing the Tao Te Ching of 5,000 sons, but the past, today and the future are inseparable from the morality we say.

I think that in fact, Tao and virtue are two words between ancient and modern, and Tao refers to a road, the road of the road.

It is a direction that exists in the fundamental consciousness of the human mind, and now we can also see it as the path of life in our own thinking.

In the end, I set the Word as the beginning, the beginning of the beginning. As for virtue, I think that virtue is a kind of germination, progress, and gradual growth from the blur of consciousness to the growth of the Tao.

In reality, it can also be said that the development of the life path and how to develop, but it is definitely not the result, I see it as a process.

Today, I will briefly talk about the understanding of Tao and virtue in my heart. The first time I understood morality was from Lao Tzu's (Li Er) Tao Te Ching, I dare not say that I have a very broad insight into morality, but my theoretical understanding is still that there is Tao first and then virtue.

From the elephant's point of view, the Tao is actually the law of the operation of heaven and earth, and it is also the law that heaven and earth must follow.

Virtue, on the other hand, is the process by which all things run in the rules of the universe. Just like the earth is constantly rotating, there is day and night, and all things can continue normally, but Lao Tzu absolutely didn't know that the earth is actually a big ship in the universe, constantly moving!

Then let's not talk about elephants, but simply understand morality from the material world. In our traditional Chinese culture, we have always had the habit of respecting the Tao and valuing virtue, and we like to put the Tao in the supreme and lofty position.

And the Tao in the minds of Confucianism and Taoism is really on the same level in many parts. It is said that from ancient times to the present, there are criminal laws and laws in the real society, as well as the moral bottom line of people's hearts, the code of conduct of the unit and the discipline of the company, which is a fundamental and a principle, I call it the Tao.

Of course, it can't be compared with the Tao in the elephant, I call it the Tao. As for morality, we have learned a little bit of feudal Confucianism from ancient times to the present.

It will be guided by the eight directions of virtue advocated by Confucianism, such as loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, faithfulness, filial piety, kindness, courtesy, and humility.

Speaking of loyalty, that's too much. Staying true to the family is because we are members of the family. Be loyal to the country, because we are part of the country.

Loyal to the party, hehe, that's a member of the Communist Party, but it's all loyalty. And what about benevolence and righteousness? Better understood, ancient China benevolence and righteousness have produced a school of thought, benevolence is the moral essence and theoretical cornerstone of the Confucian tradition, and Confucius Confucius is rich in the connotation of benevolence and righteousness, what is a gentleman?

If you can be benevolent, you are a gentleman. And in today's society, brothers, brothers, brothers, classmates, friends, and comrades-in-arms actually have a good relationship as long as they can get by on the face, and the relationship is not bad.

It's really ridiculous! Needless to say, filial piety, kindness, courtesy, and humility, all kindness and filial piety come first, this is absolute.

And in this world of material interests, as long as you don't tear your face, the superficial respect has become the humility of the new era.

But I put the letter at the end and said, hehe, the letter I am talking about today is not the credit, credibility, and honesty that I used to talk about, and its essence and connotation, these things are often only on the lips.

It's just, fair, and equal. However, most of today's letters are constrained by national law and have to be honest and trustworthy.

Faith is virtue, the most fundamental virtue in morality, if you don't keep your word, you will definitely shake the law (that is, the Tao).

A university professor in China once said: "Relying on the legal system to run a country proves that the people of that country are not qualified." "But I really can't figure out that many of the words of this professor are really incomprehensible to people who is a professor and scholar of a famous university.

Today, when we talk about virtue, we have some idealistic mentality. Because in today's society with declining morality, there are many people who know and practice the way, and there are many people who speak reason, and there are few people who understand reason.

After all, commenting on history is still commenting on history, and the history of the past is said today. Tao and Virtue are just talking to you today, and I have the opportunity to exchange ideas with you more.
