Postscript: This is not a tragedy
Postscript: This is not a tragedy
This postscript should have been written yesterday, but I really can't write it, so I put it on today.
The delay also happened to let me see everyone's reaction to the ending.
The intention of writing this ending is not to abuse readers, so I think it is necessary to interpret it so that you can understand the intention. Even if not everyone can accept it, at least let everyone see where there is hope.
This book is a catastrophe in my writing career, and there are many, many times that I think I can't get through it.
Its birth itself is congenitally insufficient.
I don't know how many readers have read my previous book "Atlas of Immortals", this one, it can be said that I have the ultimate fantasy of the theme of Xiuzhen, so after I finished writing, I considered not writing Xiuzhen again in the short term.
First, a lot of my imagination of this subject has already been shown in that book, and in the absence of new brains, I will only repeat myself if I write again. The second is to clearly realize that I know too little on the road of online writing. It can even be said that I still didn't know how to write online essays at that time.
I am a very lucky person, when I first wrote the first work "A Fairy is Hard to Find" on the girls' network, I didn't think about how to write a "red book", just because when I read "The Legend of Mortal Immortals", I had a great interest in the world shown by the author's pen, and indulged my imagination, so I had such an idea.
So I started writing this work with great interest.
Because I didn't think about whether it would be "popular", the psychological acceptance ability at that time was very high, and I was so happy that there were readers who shared joys and sorrows with me. The results that have been achieved later have been much more than imagined.
It is precisely because of the results that I have exceeded my imagination that I have not experienced the cold reception that a new author should have, and still retain my innocence and self.
In the end, this book cannot have a good ending because of the shackles of reality.
Many of its ideas, in my opinion, were very flawed, and this flaw was also a major reason for the ending.
It opened up a new world for me and became my black history.
I feel deeply sorry for it.
In this case, I am going to write "Atlas of Faeries" to correct the mistakes made in the previous work.
I want to tell myself that I can write better.
Immediately after that, I endured all the trials that my debut novel had omitted.
The cold reception that "Faerie" received was something I didn't expect. The initial boredom rejected most of the readers.
But as mentioned earlier, I was still naïve at the time, and after combing through the whole story, I thought it was a good story, and there was no reason why others should not appreciate it.
So, I buried myself in writing this story, and I wanted to write it out and show it to everyone.
Later, I did. Although the subscription results of this book are not as good as the previous work, but it has brought me you who will never give up.
To this day, I still think it's my most sincere work, even though not as many people have taken it.
This work, 3.77 million words, was written for nearly three years.
In the process, I finally realized that writing online articles is not so simple.
And I'm no longer a newcomer writing for the sake of interest, and now I need to support my family from it.
I began to consciously study other people's works, understand the preferences of readers, analyze my own shortcomings, and look for ways to break through.
In the process, I wrote a lot of works, some of which were destroyed, some of which were left on hard drives, and some of which I experimented with.
Calm down and analyze, the cold reception of "Fairy" is not innocent, it has committed many taboos that should not be committed in online articles. A heroine with a vague gender consciousness and is not easy to substitute, a beginning that has no cool points and is flat and straightforward, and a story that is too long and not explosive enough.
That's basically half the battle.
However, no matter how lacking the story is, it can still be well written.
It didn't get enough grades, it could only be that it wasn't good enough, and I couldn't write it well.
After the end of "Faerie", I didn't open a new one for half a year.
In the past six months, I have reflected on many issues and written many short and medium-length stories.
After the New Year, the editor came to urge me to open a pit.
It's been too long, and it's time to start a new journey.
At that time, I was preparing the story "Chengluan". Therefore, the characters of Lu Mingshu and Xie Xingshen originally belonged to this story.
But at that time, it wasn't perfect enough, and I didn't have a good entry point, and I had a problem at the beginning.
I couldn't write a satisfactory beginning, so I took the editor's advice and decided to write a transition.
picked and picked in his own old and new pits, and finally chose the framework of "Destiny for the Phoenix".
Since the characters have been almost done, I also fell in love with these two characters, so I put them in this story and adjusted them accordingly.
Since it is a transition, it is necessary to make changes in this place.
The direction I chose at that time was to move closer to the popular taste, so this book had a very bloody beginning.
Looking back now, a transitional work was doomed to its congenital deficiencies from the beginning.
To tell you the truth, the structure of this book at the beginning is a shuttle from another world. As I said before, it was originally inspired by Martial Arts World Adventure. Now looking at the setting at the beginning, you can also see the traces, I mixed all kinds of worlds, it should be a series of alternate worlds, there are magical worlds, there are interstellar worlds, and even modern worlds.
But after opening the book, I found that it didn't work.
If you write fantasy, then your overall worldview should be fantasy. With the addition of magic, it will give people a nondescript feeling.
There are already examples of this, and I saw another book that was written in the same way, and the author told me that the reader abandonment rate was very high, and the subscription plummeted. Later, she broke off the update, and she has not finished writing it until now.
So I began to adjust the structure, reducing the content of the shuttle to the other world, and even reduced it to only a few embellishments, focusing on this world.
In this way, it does make the reader more coherent, but it is out of my original expectations.
Since then, I have lost control of it.
The further back I write, the stronger this sense of loss of control becomes.
I didn't need the plot points I prepared at all, so I could only adjust them as I wrote.
And that's not the biggest problem, the worst thing is that my personal emotions exploded.
As mentioned earlier, after writing "Immortals", I decided not to write Xiuzhen again in the short term. So, "Destiny" itself is a compromise.
I fell into a depressed mood, and the further I wrote, the more self-loathing I became. Ask yourself over and over again, since you don't want to write, why do you force it. Since you started writing, why can't you stick to it. Is it worth the characters in the pen to reduce the story to such a thing?
Then I went back and looked at the work and found that the existing version had too many shortcomings, and it didn't write the feeling I wanted at all. It wasn't supposed to look like this, and if I had to rate it, it wouldn't even be a failing grade.
The most bitter thing about code words is that there is no better hand than the eye. The ideal is too high, the level is too low, thinking too much, writing too little.
Anyway, since I've already started writing, I have to give it an ending.
So I re-architected it again.
This ending was already set at the end of July.
In fact, I think it's the best ending I can give them.
Lu Mingshu has experienced a lot of injustices in his life. The death of her grandfather and mother sent her into the world of Wu Xiu. Even if she shines with her own efforts, others still think that she is too upright and it is difficult to have good results.
There is a fire in her heart, and once it erupts, it will be the consequence of the prairie fire.
But she also met good people.
The master, whose meridians are completely destroyed, reinvigorate her. Gao Xiang, a childhood sweetheart, was upset for her. There are also Uncle Zhuo, who helped her as much as they could.
For the sake of these good people, she has been trying to control the fire in her heart.
The higher her strength, the more no one can control her, the more she has to control herself.
She doesn't want to dominate others with the same strength because she has been treated unfairly.
Therefore, she would rather let herself become a good person and leave room for others everywhere, rather than be arrogant to the end and kill coldly.
This is her self-cultivation.
Therefore, at the last moment, when faced with that choice, she decided to become Jianmu and give those good people a better world.
She hopes that even if she has been coldly treated, she can still look at the world with kindness.
In the end, she did.
Seek kindness and get kindness.
And Xie Xingshen, his personality is more complex, but what he wants is very pure.
The experience of the first half of his life, when he fused into a new Xie Xingshen, became a simple self.
He wants to be with the person he loves, make her happy, and let her get what she wants.
Therefore, when Lu Mingshu was faced with that choice, his attitude was, you go after what you want, and I will always follow you.
Where you are, is where my heart is.
I once said to myself that I wouldn't write BE, and this is really not BE.
Are they ignorant?
Of course not.
I have already written in the article that Xiao Sang has a body, she can transform into a form, and of course Mingshu can.
Think about Fang Xinyan in "Fairy", her body is a grass!
As for mending the heavens and petrifying spirits, do you need me to tell you about a certain book called "The Story of Stones"?
So, I really didn't expect that people would think it was a tragedy.
In my imagination, thousands of years later, the new building wood finally took shape and turned into the woman who looked like ice and snow.
And the first time she looks after she transforms, she will see the merry boy sitting on the mending stone.
They have endless years, and of course they will be together forever.
A happy ending.
Perhaps, many years from now, Jianmu will become the marriage tree of that world, and it will be covered with prayer cards.
And the mending stone...... I'm sorry, but you're probably going to have a person's name all over your body with something like "I love you forever."
I'm going to be moved to cry by myself, but you say it's a tragedy??
As an author who is not understood, I'm going to make a fuss, okay?!
The ending is explained here, and at the end there is deep self-reflection.
For me, writing is about providing for my family, but it's definitely more than just providing for my family.
It is my spiritual world, my purpose in life.
Over the years, I have been spurring myself to write better stories.
Thank you, who have subscribed, for allowing me to pursue this as a profession.
Although it can't make me rich, I'm really lucky to be able to make a career out of what I love.
Maybe we won't go to the end together, but I hope that this part of the journey can bring you spiritual enjoyment.
Treasure.
Hope to see you next book.
In the ending chapter, a very important point is missed. After Ming Shu is transformed into a building tree, those dead owners of the Celestial Wheel will be resurrected. At that time, I wrote it in too much urgency, so I omitted it, and now it has been completed.
