Chapter 60: The Key to the Treasure
Evan struggled to his feet, pain all over his body.
He should now be inside the Slytherin statue, with a lot of space around it, with a narrow circular hole directly above it, where the basilisk glides in and out.
"It's strange, go back to Hogwarts a thousand years ago, are you dreaming?!" Evan shook his head and fumbled his hand for his wand on the ground around him.
At the same time as he touched his wand, he felt a bottle.
"Fluorescent flickering!" Evan whispered, and by the faint glow of his wand, he could see a small vial of dark gold potion in his hand.
"This can't be the magic potion that Slytherin gave me!"
Evan was stunned for a moment, he suddenly realized that what had just happened was not a dream, but something that had happened in the real sense, and he had indeed used the time turner to travel back to Hogwarts a thousand years ago and meet the legendary Big Four.
As Hufflepuff had originally told himself, Slytherin wasn't as inaccessible as he looked, and it was unbelievable that he actually gifted himself a precious potion at the last minute!
Evan had read in a magic book about potions, and that the potion was an extremely precious magic potion whose recipe and brewing method had been lost for a long time.
He carefully put the potion in his pocket, if he let the others know that he had a bottle of magic potion, it would definitely cause a huge sensation, and even the Ministry of Magic would come out and ask him for it, which was not what Evan wanted.
He was going to take the potion to increase his strength when no one was around, and then Evan remembered that when he was leaving, the four founders of the school had said that they would leave a mysterious treasure in the Chamber of Secrets to help the eligible heirs of Hogwarts fight against Voldemort.
If nothing else, the treasure spot should be inside the statue.
He hurriedly picked up his wand and searched everywhere.
As a basilisk's lair, the Slytherin statue is much larger than it looks from the outside, and it is full of bones of small animals, leaving traces left by gliding and rubbing against the basilisk.
After some searching, at the end of the space, Evan found an unlocked secret door.
He opened the secret door, sending a puff of dust.
When the dust cleared, Evan found himself standing in front of a circular room.
This room is exactly the same as the one he visited a thousand years ago, and the interior is very beautifully decorated, the most striking thing is that there are statues of the four founders of the school in all four corners of the room.
Unlike the old Slytherin statue outside, the four statues here are all of the Big Four when they were young: the sinister and cunning Salazar Slytherin, the benevolent and kind Helga Hufflepuff, the wise Roy Naravenclaw, and the rugged and handsome Godric Gryffindor.
Everyone is exactly the same as Evan has ever seen, vivid.
In front of the statue of the Four Bureaus, there are four stone altars, all with circular grooves.
This should be the real secret room that the Big Four said, that is, it is not what the secret treasure they left behind, but also the tests that must be passed.
Evan took a step forward and saw different words written on the four walls of the room.
The content is a bit like the song sung by the Sorting Hat, and Aven looks at them one by one, and on the Gryffindor wall, it is written in gold paint: Brave Gryffindor, from the barren swamp! He leaves the highest reward for the bravest! The key to unlocking the treasure is the courage buried in the heart, and you need to be recognized by his proud followers!
On the Hufflepuff wall, there is black paint: the benevolent Hufflepuff from the open valley! She treats everyone equally, and everyone has a chance to get her treasure! The key to unlocking the treasure is integrity and loyalty, all you need to do is trust your humble friend!
On the wall of Ravenclaw, there is blue paint: beautiful Ravenclaw, from the peaceful riverside! She believes that the brightest minds deserve a reward! The key to unlocking the treasure is a superior intellect that will be passed on forever to her equally brilliant allies!
Finally, on the Slytherin wall, it was written in silver paint: Shrewd Slytherin, from that quagmire! He believed only in wizards of the purest blood, and the Mudbloods could not get anything from him! The key to the treasure was immensely powerful, kept in the deepest depths of the earth by his sinister and cunning servants!
With the light of his wand, Evan read all the hints, and the more he looked, the more speechless he became, these four guys were really funny, since they left something behind, they took it out happily, and now the whole thing seems to be a riddle.
He couldn't understand any of these tips.
Evan had no idea where the Big Four kept the key to unlocking the secret treasure, and what did the followers, friends, allies, and servants mean by the aforementioned followers?
He had no choice but to record all these words and discuss them with everyone when he was ready to go out to see if he could find any clues.
By the time Evan had memorized all of his words, a terrible, long-lasting, eardrum-piercing scream suddenly rang from outside the statue!
He then remembered that there was still Tom Riddle and the basilisk outside, and hurried out of the room.
As soon as he reached the bottom of the cave, Evan heard Harry shouting his name from above, and he hurriedly responded, and Fawkes flew down with his wings and led him up.
In the time he was gone, Harry had settled everything well.
The scream I heard just now was Tom Riddle's last sound. In the middle of the chamber, the basilisk's massive corpse lay limpless, its palate pierced by the Gryffindor sword. Not far from it was Tom Riddle's journal, pierced by the basilisk's fangs, the venom burning a hole in the diary, still hissing with black smoke and dripping with ink.
"Aven, we won, I defeated Tom Riddle, I destroyed that journal according to what you said!" Seeing that Evan was brought out by Fawkes, Harry hurriedly greeted him and asked with a concerned face, "How are you, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, something happened, I'll tell you when I go back!"
Evan shook his head, saw Ron lying under the statue, and hurriedly said, "Let's go and see how Ron is doing." ”
By the time Evan and Harry hurried over, Ron had already sat up.
His blank gaze fell first on the massive corpse of the basilisk, then on Harry in his blood-stained robes, on Aven, whose robes were also in tattered, and finally on the journal at his feet.
He shuddered, gasped, and tears flowed uncontrollably.
"Aven, Harry, I hurt everyone, I shouldn't trust Tom Riddle, I wanted to tell everyone I did it, but I'm afraid, Riddle told me that if I did, you'd never consider me a friend!"
"Yes, you are indeed a bastard. If it weren't for the fact that I'm so tired and about to fall apart right now, I'd have wanted to go up and beat you up, Ron!" Evan said angrily, "You'd believe Voldemort's nonsense instead of your friends." ”
"It's all my fault, I deserve to be fired!" Ron said frustratedly, "I felt something unusual shortly after the first attack, and I naively thought I could get rid of that journal, but I got deeper and deeper. ”
"It's all over, Ron. Harry comforted him, "We all believe in you, you were just controlled by Riddle, and none of those things were done by you." ”
"But"
"For the sake of saving Ginny in the common room, I forgive you!" Evan followed and dragged Ron up, "But if there is something like this in the future, you must tell us as soon as possible, rather than trying to solve it yourself." ”
