Chapter 17 Donglin Party (Ask for Recommendation Votes and Collections)
"Damn, damn it! I will one day make them pay!" Zhu Youzhen said angrily when he returned to the dormitory.
Wang Chengen came in to take a look, only to see a mess on the ground, broken bottles and broken bowls everywhere, needless to say, they were naturally smashed by Zhu Youzhen.
Wang Chengen knew that it was the Donglin Party that persecuted too much in the court and asked him to kill Wei Zhongxian.
Of course Wei Zhongxian can't be killed, who will kill me to make a knife-backed black cauldron? Wang Chengen can't do it, he is too honest and too kind.
Therefore, Wei Zhongxian had to be protected, and Zhu Youzhen was unwilling to back down, so the more noisy it became, and some people openly scolded Zhu Youzhen for being a faint king.
Wang Chengen now remembers the original words of the official: "Your Majesty, I am in the Ming Dynasty, why is the emperor in the company of traitorous ministers, the history books are like knives, I hope that the emperor will be clear, and think twice." ”
Even Wei Zhongxian's face changed greatly, this sentence pointed at Zhu Youzhen's nose and scolded him for being a faint king!
In the end, it was naturally unhappy, and there was this scene in front of us.
After a long time, Zhu Youzhen's voice came: "Big companion come in." ”
Wang Chengen hurriedly went in and asked softly, "What does Your Majesty command?"
Zhu Youzhen ordered: "Daban go and find all the information about the Donglin Party!"
Wang Chengen took the order and left.
......
Wang Chengen's efficiency was still very high, and in only three quarters of an hour, he walked over with a large number of eunuchs holding stacks of books. Wang Chengen stepped forward and said: "Emperor Qiqi, all the information of the Donglin Party is here, even the dead Donglin Party is here." ”
Zhu Youzhen looked at the two piles of human-tall books, his face twitched, and he looked at Wang Chengen with an indescribable emotion. It's not a good thing to be too real sometimes!
However, Zhu Youzhen didn't say anything, and directly looked at the information of the Donglin Party, and it was a day. He also gradually gained some understanding of the Donglin Party.
After the middle of the Ming Dynasty, politics became increasingly corrupt, and feudal oppression led to the continuous revolt of the people. In the face of political and economic difficulties, in 1573 (the first year of Emperor Shenzong's Wanli), the first assistant Zhang Juzheng began to carry out reforms, and achieved certain results in clarifying the rule of officials, improving the tax system, increasing financial resources, building water conservancy, and rectifying the military.
Shousuke is a member of the Chief Cabinet and is equivalent to the prime minister of the past.
Mingshenzong ascended the throne at the age of 10 and was assisted by Zhang Juzheng; as he grew older, he felt unbearable that Zhang Juzheng arbitrarily ruled the government and restricted him from pursuing luxury and lust.
After Zhang Juzheng's death in 1582 (the tenth year of Wanli), Mingshenzong was in charge of the government, and many of Zhang Juzheng's new policies were quickly abolished.
During the reign of Emperor Shenzong, the feudal ruling class represented by emperors, eunuchs, princes, lords, and powerful ministers manipulated the government, and the political darkness, military decay, and financial constraints.
Due to the decline of the Ming Dynasty's national power, the Manchurians who rose outside the Guanguan gradually disobeyed the jurisdiction of the central government of the Ming Dynasty, and even became a threat to the Ming Dynasty.
In the face of this situation in which state affairs are becoming increasingly different, some intellectuals have raised a call for concern for state affairs and reform of maladministration, and these intellectuals include members of the Donglin Party.
When it comes to the Donglin Party, there will definitely be a person, Gu Xiancheng. You may not be familiar with the first year of junior high school, but you must have heard a sentence from him, that is: "The sound of the wind and rain, the sound of reading, the sound of the voice, the family and the country, the world, everything is concerned." ”
Whether it is from history or in the book, Mr. Gu's quality is noble, there is no doubt about this. Today, let's not talk about his old man's morality, let's understand Gu Xiancheng's life.
Gu Xiancheng was a native of Wuxi, and was known as Mr. Jingyang or Mr. Donglin at the time. In 1580 (the eighth year of Wanli), he became a jinshi and then served as a Beijing official.
At that time, the main official offices of the central court were the six ministries of officials, households, rites, soldiers, criminals, and workers, and the Metropolitan Procuratorate as a supervisory body.
The chief and deputy chiefs of the six departments are Shangshu and Shilang, and the subordinate departments are presided over by Langzhong, and the subordinate officials are foreign officials and directors. The chief and deputy governors of the Metropolitan Procuratorate are the Imperial History, the Deputy Imperial History, and the Imperial History.
In 1593 (the twenty-first year of Wanli), Gu Xiancheng was appointed as the secretary of the Ministry of Officials, and was in charge of the promotion and transfer of officials.
Gu Xiancheng was outspoken and daring, and he and some upright officials often criticized the wrong decisions of the imperial court. Gu Xiancheng caused the disgust of Shenzong because of the dispute for the crown prince.
In 1594 (the twenty-second year of Wanli), the imperial court recommended the election of cabinet scholars (known as cabinet ministers), and the people nominated by Gu Xiancheng were all disgusted by Shenzong, which angered Shenzong even more, and he was cut off from his official status and dismissed from his post and went home.
Gu Xiancheng returned to his hometown and decided to engage in lecturing activities while promoting his political views. It happened that there was a Donglin Academy in Wuxi where the Song Dynasty scholar Yang Shi had lectured, and he and his younger brother Gu Yuncheng proposed to repair it.
Gu Xiancheng had a high reputation among scholars, and received funding and support from many local people, as well as the prefect of Changzhou and Wuxi, and restored the academy in 1604 (the 32nd year of Wanli).
In October of the same year, Gu Xiancheng, together with Gu Yuncheng, Gao Panlong, An Xifan, Liu Yuanzhen, Qian Yiyi, Xue Fujiao, Ye Maocai (then known as the Eight Gentlemen of Donglin) and others, initiated the Donglin Conference and formulated the "Donglin Covenant".
It is stipulated that the General Assembly shall be held once or twice a year, and that it shall meet once a month. At that time, some of the deposed scholars, or those who could not be tolerated and retreated to the mountains, all responded to the news after learning the news.
They satirize current affairs and judge people. Officials in the DPRK also responded from afar. Donglin Academy gradually became a party of its own, and later became known as the Donglin Party, and Gu Xiancheng was also honored as "Mr. Donglin".
Gu Xiancheng once said: "The ambition is not in the gentleman's writing; the official feudal territory is not in the people's livelihood; living in the waterside and under the forest, the ambition is not in the world; and the gentleman has nothing to do." Therefore, even though he was lecturing at the academy, he often made sarcastic discussions about current affairs.
Subsequently, upright gentlemen such as Sun Piyang, Zou Yuanbiao, and Zhao (Nan) Xing were deposed by the imperial court and went to Donglin to give lectures one after another.
They were conceited and opposed to the imperial court, which was the beginning of the Donglin Party Conference.
The rise of the Donglin School, flaunting integrity and advocating practical learning, played a positive role in reversing morale.
In their lectures, they often touched on social realities and discussed how to change the situation of political corruption and people's misery.
Gao Panlong once pointed out: "At this time, the people are not happy, and chaos is coming. ”
Gu Xiancheng also felt that the crisis-ridden political situation was like "holding firewood on a blazing fire";
Therefore, he believes that it is not advisable for those who are officials in the imperial court to not consider the government affairs, those who are officials in the local areas do not pay attention to the people's livelihood, and those who retire to the countryside do not care about the world.
They closely linked reading and lecturing with their concern for state affairs.
Judging from these materials, the original intention of the establishment of the Donglin Party was good. Of course, it is also Confucianism that influences them with the following passage:
Those who want to be clear and virtuous in the world will rule the country first;
Those who want to rule their country must first gather their families;
Those who want to gather their families must first cultivate their bodies;
Those who want to cultivate their bodies must first correct their hearts;
Those who want to correct their hearts must first be sincere;
If you want to be sincere, you must first know it, and you will know it in Gewu.
The character is then known, and then the sincerity is known.
Sincerity and then the heart, the heart is right and then the body.
Self-cultivation followed by family unity, family unity followed by national governance.
The country is ruled and then the world is peaceful.
To put it bluntly, they are also for the benefit of the people, Zhongxing Daming!
