Section II
"May their souls rest in peace. β
After passing through several corridors, the three of Hadawa saw a battlefield.
Slaughterhouse, to be exact.
Combining those stumps and severed arms on the ground, you can probably spell out a dozen imperial armies. The premise is that they can be distinguished from the shallow pool where blood and brain plasma are mixed.
"Two-handed axe, an old acquaintance. Hadava glanced slightly, then looked away, unable to look further.
"Storm Cloak's [Wild Hunt] Larov?" Roy walked to the corner of the hall. There, Helgen's Imperial Guard Captain Laran was sitting quietly on the ground. She was probably the only Imperial soldier whose corpse was still intact. But her fine steel Imperial armor didn't keep her alive - her head was split in half from the center along with her half-covered steel helmet.
"This must be the executioner's axe. It's ironic that the prisoner who should have died under this axe used it to kill almost everyone who had come to execute him. β
"We have to be careful. Larov might be nearby. It's even possible that Ufric is there. There's no way we're going to beat them. Hadava looked around warily. "We have to be careful. Again, he stressed.
"Upfric is said to have mastered the art of roaring, and his roar even destroyed the gates of the Blue Palace. Is this true? Roy asked nonchalantly, observing the direction of the blood on the ground.
"There are rumors like this......"
"Aha! I found it!" Roy pointed to a certain corridor on his right, "The blood here is a little abnormally distributed, but it is so obvious. I can also deceive you who are not very professional but have one or two brushes. They are clearly on this side. β
"Really?"
"I'm a high-level thief! You're questioning my abilities!"
"Yes, yes, a high-ranking thief who almost had his head cut off. β
"You!"
Just as the two were about to argue, Alice interrupted them.
"Shouldn't we go?"
"Ugh. Hadava turned his head, he had just almost forgotten about the girl.
"You stripped Captain Laran of his armor...... It's not an honorable thing. Hadava frowned, and Alice in front of her was wearing the steel Imperial Armor. The weapons in his hand were also replaced with long swords and round iron shields. He looked sideways and saw that Alice hadn't left even a fig leaf for the original owner of the armor. The naked brown twin peaks were covered in blood, and there was a strange beauty to itβhe couldn't help but turn his head away.
But Alice was clearly unaware, "She doesn't need it anyway, does she? The girl moved her shoulders, the heavy armor didn't stiffen her movements.
"I have to say that this is very much in line with the tradition of our thieves' guild, are you sure you are not a member of the Sirodil General Association?" Roy on the side noticed that the atmosphere was a little wrong, and hurriedly came over to play a round. "It's the kind of thing we like to do in the thieves' guild. β
Alice frowned, she seemed a little confused. "I don't remember, I just think...... I should do this......" she glanced at Hadawa, "I can give them back." β
"So be it. Hadava figured out what to do with a girl with missing memories, who had nothing but her name. What's more, if it weren't for Captain Laran's insistence on executing her. She was released long before the dragon struck. This can be regarded as a report and a report.
"So, let's go the other way. To be honest, I don't like going that way at all. Hadawa took a torch from the wall. "It's the torture room. β
"It's not a good place. Roy put the crossbow on the strings, "Maybe this will come in handy." β
Hadava did not object to him, and it was clear that he was not very reassured about the mental state of the torturers.
The corridor leading to the torture chamber was long and silent, and the dragon hovering above Helgen seemed to have left. At least they didn't feel anything big.
Occasionally, the torch in the corridor will make some crackling sounds, which is the table of insufficient burning. But this sound, which didn't even alarm ants, made the three of them nervous every time. Roy almost shook his hand and shot a crossbow arrow into the wall.
A breeze suddenly rose in the dreary tunnel, and just around the corner from the torture room, a thick smell of blood rushed towards him.
"Isn't it very stable, let's go!" Hadava looked at the two behind him, raised his shield and threw down his torch and rushed forward. It was as if he had seen another slaughterhouse, and even though he didn't trust the torturers very much, an inexplicable anger ignited his brain.
Those are all Imperial brothers who fought alongside him!
"Damn storm bastards! I'm going to kill them all...... Huh?"
In the spacious torture room, the torturers covered in black cloaks happened to be looking at him for a long time. There were more than a dozen corpses of Storm Cloaks lying on the ground.
"These people seemed to be a little unhappy with us, so they had to give them a ride. The torturer's voice was sweet. But the first thing people who hear is definitely a chill down their spine.
Before Hadava could say something, a body suddenly hit him in the back. This made him stumble.
Immediately after that, there is Alice, who is heavily armored all over.
Hadawa finally fell into the mud.
"It seems that your companion is not very cautious? The torturer walked over and lifted Hadava from the ground, the cold touch making Hadava feel like he was dealing with a dead body.
He hurriedly struggled to get up.
"What's going on up there? It's noisy, it's noisy, it's so hard to work. The torturer pointed to a corpse on the wall, with only bones left on the left side of its body, and a person on the right side who looked like it had just died...... Fresh. "I thought he would survive until tonight, but I had to end his life early. It's a shame. β
It made Hadava almost vomit.
"It seems a little cold here. Alice interjected suddenly, and she hugged her shoulders and rubbed them gently.
"That's because you're wearing steel armor. Roy gave her a kick, but her toes ached from the steel shins.
But Alice didn't seem to feel the atmosphere here at all, and said to herself: "It's not that cold, it's another kind of ......."
She wanted to continue, but Hadava interrupted her first.
"It's a dragon! A dragon has attacked Helgen! The townspeople are almost dead. A few of us escaped, intending to escape from the cave at the bottom of the fortress. β
"A dragon ......" the torturer couldn't help but fall into deep thought.
Roy noticed that there was only one torturer speaking from the beginning. The rest of the people were all there like wooden clubs. There were only two spectacles of light under the pitch-black cloak. That feels...... Very uncomfortable. But Hadawa seems to have been completely unaware of this. Or rather, turn a blind eye.
So he also kept silent sensibly, and was optimistic about Alice by the way. This little girl is not a worry-free thing......
Hey, Alice people!
Roy almost jumped in fright, Alice, she actually ran to the inside of the torture room, and was about to open some cage. The gods were above, and he didn't want to face that kind of ...... in this near-crippled state Stuff.
"That cage was broken a few years ago, and the corpse was already decomposing. The torturer looked at her, took out a string of lock picks from the drawer and threw it to Alice. "That enchanted robe is of good quality, you can take it out, if you can. β
Before he could finish speaking, Roy had already rushed forward with an arrow step, and in a few clicks he had broken the almost rusty lock.
"Aha~ an enchanted robe, a spell book, and a few bottles of potions...... Damn, the potion is dry!, but it should still be worth a few bucks, then it should sell for a thousand ......" He was stunned for a moment, then smiled wryly. He took the robe and hid in the corner.
"You newcomers are really versatile. The torturer seemed to be nonchalant, and he bit the word "new" very hard.
Alice picked up the spell book and looked at it, it was supposed to be a fire-based spell book, recording several low-level magic.
"It's an arcane text for mages, and it would take even a month for even the elite from Winterhold Academy to read it completely. The torturer whispered, "But if you want to stay, I can teach you." After all, I don't want to go so fast......"
"I'm sorry! I don't think we're going to be able to stay any longer. Hadava said with some haste: "There are at least thirty [fresh] dead bodies in the place where we came. I don't want to be around them!"
"Is that so?" the torturer's tone became a little brisk, "then, I won't keep you." He waved his hand, and the two strong torturers who had blocked the iron door of the exit moved out of the way in unison, as if they were one person.
Hadava breathed a sigh of relief, picked up Alice and walked towards the iron gate. I don't know when Roy, who changed into a magic robe, also ran out of the corner with a well-wound crossbow.
"Wait a minute. Just as they were about to walk out the door, the torturer stopped them.
The atmosphere froze.
Roy raised his crossbow slightly, and Hadava clenched his sword.
Only Alice didn't seem to care at all.
"Take this. β
The torturer tossed Alice a dark potion bottle. "It's an antidote, I think you'd better take it with you. β
He turned around and walked in the direction where Alice and the others had come.
β¦β¦β¦β¦
Until the three of them reached the bottom of the fortress, at least ten rooms away from the torture room. Hadawa let out a deep breath of turbidity.
"Necromancer, or vampire?" Roy swayed his aching shoulders and wound the crossbow.
"He's a necromancer, not many people know. I'm just qualified. Hadawa's voice was a little muffled. "There are so many brothers' bodies on it......"
For the next period of time, no one spoke.
