(254) Revisit Foguang Temple
Thursday, June 6, 2013)
On the 18th day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar (May 26), I visited the Foguang Temple and watched the Eid al-Fitr ceremony, but there were some shortcomings.
Last visit, the internal building of Foguang Temple was not remembered, and the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas did not go, and this time I went to revisit Foguang Temple to make up for the shortcomings.
On April 28 (June 6) of the lunar calendar, the weather was clear, cloudless, warm and fresh.
Today, it is the last subsection of Foguang Temple.
At 8:46 a.m., my husband and I boarded the bus and headed for Foguang Temple.
My home, on the sugar mill site, is the western suburb of JMS City.
Foguang Temple is in the south of the city, the two are far apart, take the No. 1 bus to get off at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiada, and pour the No. 10 bus to get to Foguang Temple.
These two buses take an hour.
On the No. 10 bus, it was full of people, and more than half of the people went to Foguang Temple to participate in the temple fair, and most of them were old people.
The two of us got off the bus and walked at the 224 Hospital, which is two stops away from Foguang Temple, in order to see the market of Foguang Temple.
Today's Foguang Temple market is not as big as April 18, and it only runs outside the gate of Shuiyuanshan Park.
In the Shengli Road section where Foguang Temple is located, the road is unimpeded, and there are not many vehicles coming and going.
The market is still very lively, with a dazzling array of goods, everything, colorful, and strange.
Buying and selling are still lined up in two rows, with a meter-wide aisle in the middle.
We walked east from the west end of the market, carefully looking at the goods as we went, and choosing the items that we wanted to buy.
As a result, from the west end to the east end, we didn't have anything to look forward to, so we only bought three pancakes, an elastic band, and two spoonfuls of sorbet, which cost a total of nine yuan.
Then, we walked to the main gate of Foguang Temple, "Baolin Shengjing".
At the left end of the gate, someone gets a haircut.
My hair also grew long, so I went for a haircut.
When I got there, an old man said to me, "This haircut is free, you can go and get a haircut." ”
After the old man finished speaking, he led me into the pile of hairdressers.
There were seven or eight barbers, all of whom were young people, many men and few women, and there were only four or five barbers.
The barbers are all wearing white shirts, and the words "Beauty Salon Photography School" are printed on the backs of their clothes, and it turns out that they are all students in the school, and they came out to do good.
The man who gave me a haircut was a very tall and physically good male student, he was very serious, he was very careful, and he asked me from time to time for my requests, and he complied with all my requests.
After finishing the arrangement, I smiled and said, "Thank you, master, hard work, goodbye." ”
He also smiled and said, "You're welcome, goodbye." ”
My husband looked at my hair and said, "Well, it's a good cut." ”
When I got home, I looked myself in the mirror, and it was good, no worse than the barber near my house, and I didn't take a penny.
After the gate of Foguang Temple, there is a rectangular light yellow stone wall standing in front of you, with a little black stripes on it, and the back of the stone wall is engraved with the "Praparamita Heart Sutra", which is the stone wall touched by a circle of young people last time, and today, no one has touched it.
After crossing this stone wall, there is an arched white bridge in front of it, which is very steep and not long.
On the right side of the bridge is a pond with clear water and red carp soaring freely, and a small male Buddha statue in the pool, standing upright, looking ahead thoughtfully.
On the right side of the Buddha statue, there is a small water pump, spraying water in the south, east, west, and northwest directions, and the water is straight out.
The stone wall and the pool are located in the area, and on both sides are corridors, which are long corridors.
After the white arch bridge, in front is a very large long flat stone wall, the side of the stone wall towards the gate of Foguang Temple, there are two dragons carved on it, there are two dragons in a column, the dragon body is up and down, lifelike, vivid.
On the other side of the stone wall, there is also a picture of a column, and in each column, there are carved statues of Bodhisattvas, who are beautiful, pure, and gentle.
There were several young people, kneeling in front of the stone wall, closing their eyes and palms, and praying silently.
Go further, is the Foguang Temple, this is a house, the roof is yellow, the eaves are upturned, the upper end of the house, the ancient carved beams and painted columns.
All the halls and pavilions in the Foguang temple group are ancient house structures.
There are couplets on the pillars on both sides of the door of Foguang Temple:
The evening drum alarmed the outsiders of Lingshan three times, and the morning bell woke up the dreamer. ”
It probably means to celebrate the power of Buddhism.
On the left side of the couplet, there is a sign of "Jiamusi Buddhist Association".
This place, but it's a bit of a problem.
If Buddhism has so much power, who hasn't come to worship it? Who hasn't practiced it devoutly?
Walking through the Foguang Temple, there is an incense burning place in front, sparsely populated, no longer so messy and smelly.
In front of the incense burning place, after passing a white arch bridge, there is the Heavenly King Palace.
The Heavenly King's Hall stands tall, solemn and inviolable.
In front of the palace of the Heavenly King's Palace, there is a merit box, two meters high, black, tower-shaped, there are very few people who throw coins into it, and no one votes.
There are couplets on both sides of the gate of the Heavenly King's Palace:
"Okay, also cloth bags, sit and put down cloth bags, how comfortable, set with a smile, smile with a smile, smile and see each other, there is a fate"
"There is no phase, the past is intertwined, and the emptiness is visible, and the present life, the previous life, the future life, and the future life are not ambiguous, such as having a clear mind."
This is a Buddhist proverb, I don't understand, it seems to say let go of the burden of the earth, open your mind, and seek liberation and leisure.
There are statues of Bodhisattvas and gods in the Hall of Heavenly Kings.
The Bodhisattva statue is in the center of the hall, and its north face has the words "three continents induction".
On the right side of the Tenno's Hall, there is the Jizo Hall, and the door is locked so that you can't see it.
After the Tianwang Palace, it is the highest hall of Foguang Temple, that is, the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall that was not there last time.
There are three steps in front of the Ten Thousand Buddha Palace, you can climb these three steps to enter the Ten Thousand Buddha Palace, the steps are very high, it is conceivable that the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall is higher.
On the right side of the steps, there is a lawn on the ground, all rectangular.
In the lawn, there are small pine trees, and there is very low green grass underneath.
This kind of green grass is not an ordinary long strip, but a leaf like a flower, I have seen it before, I forget where I have seen it, and there is no place in general.
There were a few people pulling green grass with their hands in front of the lawn, as if looking for something.
This green grass, I don't know its name, is here, apparently artificially grown.
On both sides of the door of the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, there are three couplets:
"Is the color is empty, only the flowers are smiling, that is, the heart is the Buddha, and the Buddha is put down, and the ground is clearly established"
"There is no way to come and go when the emptiness is mellow, and there is no door to life and death for people to rest"
"It is color and emptiness, and enlightenment is like participating in the universe, that is, the heart is the Buddha, and opening his eyes to see the world."
This is also a witty mantra of Buddhism, as if to say, put aside the distractions of the world, and purify the mind to the Buddha, in order to see the world correctly.
Entering the door of the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, two meters away from the door, there are three Bodhisattvas sitting on the lotus, they are serene and quiet, beautiful and dignified, kind eyebrows and kind eyes.
The statue of the Bodhisattva is very tall, golden in one color.
Under the statue of the Bodhisattva, there are several good men and women kneeling and worshipping.
The roof in front of the Bodhisattva has a slender banner with words on it.
On both sides of the banner, there are couplets:
"The color is not color, the emptiness is not empty, and the Buddha country has a destiny to enter from here, and those who come and go go to the Zen door without prohibiting it and do not need to close"
This couplet probably means that Buddhism is open and accepts those who are destined.
That is to say, to recruit disciples and glorify the Buddhist family.
On the back of the three bodhisattvas, there is a big bodhisattva in the center, her top and bottom, left and right, there are statues of gods, different behaviors, different demeanors, old and young, male and female.
At the back door of the bodhisattvas in front and behind, there is a bodhisattva sitting on the left and right, and there is a monster in front of them, like a lion.
On the left and right walls of the Ten Thousand Buddha Palace, there are dense small Buddha statues, one color is golden, each has a small pavilion, there are two Buddha statues in each pavilion, they are all sitting upright, the demeanor is different, can not be described in words.
These small Buddha statues, each small pavilion is coherent up and down, and this small pavilion is coherent up and down to the roof, and between each small pavilion that is coherent up and down and the small pavilion next to it, it is separated by electric batons, which are lit up and light blue.
From a distance, the Buddha statues on the walls on both sides seem to be ten thousand, very neat and very clear.
This may be the basis of the name of the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
Perhaps, this Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas is the biggest highlight of the entire Foguang Temple!
After the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, it is a place to burn incense, the incense is scarce, and the kneeling person Liao Liao is a cold and desolate scene.
In front of the incense burning place, there is a big white Bodhisattva, as high as two meters, towering in front of him, beautiful as a flower, handsome and elegant, kind and gentle.
Behind the Great Bodhisattva, there is a merit box, exactly the same as the one seen before, standing tall and upright, only two young people throwing coins.
After the Great Bodhisattva, it is the Daxiong Treasure Palace, and the name of the hall is inscribed by Zhao Puchu.
On both sides of the door of the Daxiong Treasure Hall, there is also a couplet:
"Fuhui gold is all over the Dharma realm, and the solemn treasure hall shines brightly"
This couplet is the meaning of praising the Mahavira Temple.
Entering the temple gate, I saw a Bodhisattva sitting in the middle, his appearance and gender are difficult to distinguish, say it is a woman, he still has the edges and corners of a man, say it is a man, he still has the gentleness of a woman.
On either side of this bodhisattva, a male Buddha stands, hands clasped together, and his face is calm and pure.
On the pillars on either side of these three images, there is a couplet:
"The treasure hall is full of auspicious clouds, and the masses of people are on the other side, and the light of the Buddha is shining on Ciyin, and all things return to Pengbang"
This seems to mean that Buddhism universalizes all sentient beings and converts all sentient beings to Buddhism.
In the side rails of the walls on both sides of the main hall, seven male Buddhas sit on each side, their faces are very kind, and their demeanor is dignified.
In the front right corner of the main hall, there is a yellow bronze bell, which no one is allowed to approach.
On the wall behind the main hall, on both sides of the gate, there is a bodhisattva sitting upright, their clothes are colorful, not yellow, their posture is delicate, and their demeanor is dignified.
Behind the three holy statues in the center of the hall, in the middle is a tall Bodhisattva, beautiful and dignified, kind and gentle, and on her left, is a goddess, combing her oval hair in a bun, wearing a neon color dress. To her right is a male Buddha with a bare head and big eyes, looking straight ahead.
Behind the hall of the Mahavira Palace, there are two couplets:
"Pudu sentient beings ascend to the shore, and morality is spread all over the world"
"The sound of the law is far away to the joy of all beings, illuminating all kinds of people and the sky"
Aren't these two couplets also singing praises for Buddhism?
The walls of the east and west outside the Daxiong Hall are all paintings, all of which are Buddhist figures.
The beginning is the Buddha Shakyamuni, sitting on the lotus, with wide eyes, looking thousands of miles, with the demeanor of a leader.
The rest, which are the "Three Saints of the West" and so on, cannot be described in detail one by one.
In a word, the characters on the picture are all masterpieces of Danqing, fresh and realistic, showing the fairy wind and bones of Buddhism, reflecting the peace and tranquility of Buddhism.
There are three couplets on the pillar at the back of the hall:
"If you don't turn back, who will save you from suffering, if you can change your mind, why do you need me to be merciful"
"Prajna Wisdom Torch guides the masses to leave the sea of suffering, and Cihang suffers through hardship and saves the three ways to get rid of sinking"
"The Purple Zen Forest purifies the living mind and saves the liberation, and the bright Dharma realm ascends the Dao shore to prove Bodhi"
These three couplets are roughly as follows: one says that the sea of suffering is boundless and turns back to the shore, the second says that Buddhism saves sentient beings and is the savior, and the third says that Buddhism has boundless power and is the master of omnipotence.
All in all, all the couplets of Foguang Temple are nothing more than preaching the boundlessness of Buddhism, relieving suffering, extraditing sentient beings, and persuading people to take refuge.
Behind the Daxiong Treasure Hall, there is a slender flower bed, and there are pine trees less than one meter high in the altar, which are verdant and full of life.
Under the pine trees, there are pale yellow stinky chrysanthemum flowers in full bloom.
Walking through the Daxiong Treasure Hall, it is the third place to burn incense, and the people who burn incense and bow down are even more pitiful.
On both sides of this third incense burning place, there are two floors, the roof of which is ancient, and the body of the building is modern.
The second floor on the left is the hall and guest area.
There are couplets:
"Sansheng is fortunate to be here, and it is no longer a guest who has no fate, and he is a blessed person when he comes in."
Ho, Buddhism is recruiting, whoever enters the Buddha gate is a blessed person!
This is the same as the purpose of Christianity: blessed are those who believe!
After the hall room, from south to north, there are two couplets:
"Hearing the sutras and entering samadhi, the Dharma is superb and the six desires are heavenly"
"Don't cover your face when you go to eat porridge, and when the bell rings, you often worry about life and death"
These two couplets say that Buddhist scriptures can make people superhuman, and exhort people not to waste time and to care about life and death.
After the hall is the dining hall, where many men and women eat, and it is said that for three days of Eid al-Fitr, there is no charge, and there is almsgiving.
On the second floor on the right, from north to south, there are: the Buddhist scripture circulation office, the chanting Buddha hall, and the Guanyin hall, all of which are locked and cannot be viewed.
From beginning to end, watch the architecture and furnishings of Foguang Temple, giving people the feeling of antique, exquisite and chic, beautiful and dignified.
The landlord on the second floor on the left is the way out.
At the beginning of the road, white flower pots are placed with watery pink flowers.
At the eastern end of the road is a large wall, and under the wall is a long, narrow lawn.
In the lawn, except for the small pine trees, there was that strange green grass underneath.
There are still a few people looking for something in this strange grass.
Curiosity was strange, so I went to ask them, and they said that they were looking for green grass with four leaves, and whoever found it would be happy and auspicious for life.
I look at the dense and strange green grass, all of which have three leaves, where is there four leaves?
I don't think it's too much, and if it were, wouldn't it all be lifelong happiness and auspiciousness? Isn't this happiness and auspiciousness too easy?
Then, this kind of happiness and auspiciousness has no precious value at all!
I thought no one would find it!
However, my husband said, "I saw a woman who held the green grass in her hand, and held it high, not with four leaves, can she hold it high and smile all over her face?"
So, it seems that hard work pays off, as long as you are pious and persist!
The road out is paved with concrete, and the lower you go, the west side of the road is a long corridor, which is still an ancient building.
Foguang Temple, its entire temple complex and its festival scenery are all in my heart!
