CHAPTER IX

On the west side of the hill the light of the twin sacred trees shines on it, making the shadow on the east side of the hill longer, and on the east side of the hill looks out over the bay of Eldamar and the island of solitude, and the gloomy ocean. The island also produced the first beautiful flowers east of the Amen Mountains.

At the top of Mount Tuna, the elves built a terraced city with white walls: the Tyrion. The tallest tower in the city is Ingwe's tower: Minden Eldariva, whose silver light shines into the misty sea. Few mortal ships have ever seen its slender flash. In the city of Tirian on the Mount of Kinna, Vanya and the Noldor elves lived in peace for a long time, and their friendship was very strong. As they loved the white tree most of all the things of Valinor, Javanna made them a smaller, white tree that did not shine in itself, but still bloomed, in the image of Telparian, and the Sinda called it Galacilian. The tree was planted in the square under the Minden Tower, and grew so luxuriantly that its descendants can be seen everywhere in Eldarma, and later one was transplanted to the island of Iresia and flourished, and was named Kelleborn.

Manway and Valda are the fair-skinned Vanya elves, while the Noldor are Ori's favorite, and he and his men often walk among them. The knowledge and skills of the Noldor grew stronger and stronger, and they soon surpassed their teachers. Their language is constantly changing, and they love words, always searching for better names for everything they know and imagine. Eventually, the Fenway family's bricklayers discovered gems for the first time when they were mining stones in quarries (because they loved building towers), and they brought back countless gems of all kinds, and they invented tools to cut and polish them, carving them into many different shapes. They did not store these gems, but gave them away to others, and the whole of Valinnor was added to the beauty of their busyness.

The Noldor later returned to Middle-earth, and the story is primarily about their deeds, so the following is an account of their royal kinship, whose names are to be passed down from generation to generation in the mouth of the Bellan elves.

Fenway is the king of the Noldor. Fenway's sons were Fenord, Finner, and Fenalfin, but Fenor's mother was Mirel Hillendi, and Finner's mother was Indis of the Banish tribe.

Fino was superior in skill and eloquence, possessed more knowledge than his two brothers, and his spirit was like a burning flame. Fen was the strongest, most loyal and courageous of them all. Fernafinn was the most handsome of the men and had the wisest mind, and he became friends with the sons of the Tibre king Euwe, and married Euween's daughter, the swan princess Irwen of Okolondi.

Fenor's seven sons were the tall Methros, the great singer Meglor, who sang far inland and to the sea, the fair-skinned Kaibogon@, the swarthy Caranhill, the skilful Kulufin, who inherited the most of his father's skillful hands, and the twin brothers, Anrod and Anris@, who were very similar in appearance and temperament. They became great hunters in the forests of Middle-earth, and the other great hunter was Caybon, who was a friend of Euromi's in Valinor, and often hunted at the horn of Oromi.

Fingon's sons were Fengong and Tegang, who later became the king of the Noldor elves in northern Middle-earth, Tegang was the king of Gongxianglin, and their sister was the white princess Yarehir. She was much younger than her brothers, but when she was fully grown, she was not only beautiful, but also very tall and strong, and loved to hunt in the forest. As a result, she often played with Fineau's sons, her cousins, but her love did not give them any of them. She was also known as Afanelle, the "White Princess of the Noldor", because of her extremely fair complexion and dark hair, and she never dressed up, only silver and white.

Fernalfin's sons were Finrod the Faithful (later renamed Feragon, "Lord of the Cave"), Olosus, Angrod, and Agnor, and the four of them were closest to Finn's sons, as if they were brothers. They also had a younger sister, Galadriel, who was more beautiful than any other woman in the Fenway family, and her hair shimmered with gold, as if the web of the glory of the Sacred Tree of Rorelyn had been left in her hair.

It must be said here how the Telleris eventually came to the land of Amen. They lived on the island of Iresian for a long time, and gradually their minds changed, and they were attracted by the light that had been cast out to sea to shine on the island of solitude. Their hearts struggled with a love for the music of the waves, and a desire to see their relatives and Valinor again, and in the end, the desire for light trumped all else. Osimu then obeyed the will of the other Veras and sent his friends Oshi, who had taught them the art of shipbuilding, and when the elves had built their ships and prepared them to set sail, Ohi gave them many swans with strong wings as a farewell gift. The swans sailed the white fleet of the Telleri across the windless sea, and at last they came to the island of Amen, landing on the shores of Eldarma.

They live by the sea, and they can always go to see the glory of the Twin Sacred Trees, walk the golden streets of Vommar, climb the crystal stairs of Tirian, and climb to the top of the green hill Tuna. Most of the time, however, they sail in brisk white boats in the Gulf of Eldarma, or play on the shore, and their glow can be seen even on the green hills. The Noldor gave them many precious stones, opals, diamonds, and white crystals, which they scattered on the shores or in the ponds, and in those years, the shores of Elandi were incrediblely beautiful. They also salvaged many pearls from the sea for themselves and decorated their temples with pearls, and Owe's home in Koulondi (Swan Harbor) was full of pearls, and the city where they lived was full of lights and a port of call for their ships. Their ship was made in the shape of a swan, with a beak of gold, and eyes set with gold and black jade. The entrance to Swan Harbour is a natural stone arch carved out of the sea, just across the border of Eldarma, north of Kalikja, where the light of the stars is clear and bright.
