It was a dark, overcast night, and by the time Harry and Ron arrived at Hagrid's cabin, it was already a little late, as Peeves was playing tennis against the wall in the foyer, and they had to wait until he left. Harry and Ron had to do something tonight, and that was to send the dragon Noble to the highest tower of the castle, where someone would pick them up.
Hagrid opened the window and spoke to them. "I can't let you in," he gasped, "and Noble is hard to deal with right now—I can't do anything about it. His eyes were filled with tears, but it could also be because Noble had just bitten his leg. "Oh, it doesn't matter, it only bit my boot -- it's playing -- after all, it's a little furry baby. Little Mau Vanob banged his tail against the wall, and the window clicked.
"Hagrid, we're running out of time, we must get on our feet, it's almost midnight. Ron urged anxiously.
"Well, you wait, I'll get some more brandy for Noble. Hagrid snorted.
After a while, Hagrid finally packed Noble into a large crate and was ready to go.
"I had a lot of rats for him, and some brandy, enough for him to eat all the way. "I also put his teddy bear in there, lest it feel lonely." There was a tearing sound coming from the crate, and Harry felt as if the teddy bear's head had been ripped off.
"Goodbye, Noble!" Hagrid twitched and said, "Mommy won't forget you!" Harry and Ron covered the crate with the cloak, and then got under the robes themselves, thankfully the cloaks were large enough to cover.
How to move the crates to the tower, they don't know the bottom of their hearts. As midnight approached, they carried Noble up the marble steps of the foyer and down the dark hallway. One floor up, one floor after another—even though Harry took a shortcut, he didn't feel at all uncomfortable.
"It's almost there!" They reached the hallway one floor below the tallest tower, Harry gasped.
There was a sudden movement in front of them, and they were so frightened that they almost threw away the box in their hands. Forgetting that they were invisible, they quickly retreated into the shadows, and watched as two black figures wrestling with each other a dozen paces away from them. A light is shining.
It was Professor McGonagall, dressed in a plaid dressing gown with a net, and tugging at Malfoy's ear. "Confinement!" She shouted, "Slytherin deducts twenty points!" and wandered around in the middle of the night, how dare you-" "You don't understand, Professor, Harry Potter is coming--he's got a dragon!" Utter nonsense! How dare you make up such a lie!Go—I'd like to see what Professor Snape does with you, Malfoy!"
Once you're out of Malfoy, the steep spiral staircase leading to the tower seems like the easiest stretch in the world. They didn't come to the cold night sky until they took off their cloaks. It's nice to finally be able to breathe freely again. Ron looked excited-
"Malfoy was going to be locked up, and I wanted to sing to express my joy. ”
"Don't sing, I think it's weird, how could Malfoy come to sue us, didn't Malfoy agree not to sue after Silver intervened last time?"
"Harry, you have a terrible memory, Malfoy never said he wouldn't sue us, and the last time Silver intervened, he didn't force Snob directly to us, and Malfoy won't let go of this opportunity to hit us. Ron looked unimpressed, "It's not surprising to me that the Malfoys are all like this. ”
"But even if that's the case, Malfoy shouldn't have known that we're going to send the dragon away today, right? ”
"Well, I can't figure this out, it stands to reason that Malfoy really shouldn't know that we sent Noble away today, but we don't need to pursue this anymore, anyway, now that Malfoy has been caught, what awaits him will be confinement, haha. Ron didn't seem to have recovered from his gloating.
So they giggled and laughed at Malfoy as they waited, and Noble moved violently in the box. About ten minutes later, four broomsticks suddenly landed out of the darkness.
Charlie's friends are all cheerful people. They showed Harry and Ron the ropes they had improvised so they could hang Noble between them. They strapped Noble to the rope safely, and then Harry and Ron shook hands and said many words of thanks.
Finally, Noble was gone.
They crept down the spiral staircase, finally freed from the heavy burden of Nobel, their hearts as light as their hands. The dragon is gone—Malfoy will be imprisoned—and what can spoil their joy? As soon as they stepped into the hallway, Filch's face suddenly emerged from the darkness. "Oops, noos, noos," Harry whispered, "we're in trouble. "They forgot about the cloaks of invisibility on the top of the tower.
It couldn't have been worse.
Filch led them to Professor McGonagall's study on the second floor, where they sat without saying a word. Harry's mind was racing with many excuses and justifications to defend himself, and some lies to try to fool around, but now they were more and more untenable. He didn't know what they could do to get out of it this time. They are cornered. Whatever reason they may have, Professor McGonagall will not forgive them for not sleeping in the middle of the night, wandering around the school, and climbing to the highest astronomical tower, where they are not allowed to go up except in normal classes. Add to that Noble and the Cloak of Invisibility, and they're long overdue for packing up and heading home.
Did Harry think it couldn't have been worse? When Professor McGonagall returned, she was followed by Neville.
"Harry!" As soon as Neville saw the two of them, he blurted out, "I've been looking for you to give you a heads up, and I heard Malfoy say he was coming to get you, and he said you had a dragon—"
Harry waved his hand desperately to keep Neville from saying more, but Professor McGonagall saw it. She stood tall in front of the three of them, seemingly more likely to breathe fire than Noble.
"I can't believe it's just a few of you. Filch said you went to the Astronomy Tower. Don't forget it's one o'clock in the morning. Explain it yourself. ”
Ron stared down at his slippers, motionless like a statue.
"I think I understand exactly what this is all about," Professor McGonagall said, "and it doesn't take a lot of brains to figure it out. You've come up with a lie to tell Sù Draco Malfoy that there's a dragon or something, and you're trying to trick him out of bed and get him out of bed. I've got him. I didn't expect Longbottom to hear this lie and believe it, I guess you think it's funny, right?"
Harry caught Neville's gaze and tried to tell him in silence that this was not the case, as Neville looked surprised and aggrieved. Poor, reckless Neville - Harry knew how courageous it would take for Neville to run out in the dark to find them and give them a wake-up.
I was indignant," said Professor McGonagall, "that there were four students who didn't sleep in one night! I had never heard of anything like that before! all three of you were to be locked up in confinement - yes, and you, Mr. Longbottom, no matter what was going on, you had no right to wander around the school in the middle of the night, it was very dangerous—and Gryffindor would be deducted fifty points. ”
"Fifty?" Harry felt breathless - they couldn't hold on to their lead, a place he had won with great difficulty in the last Quidditch match.
"Fifty points per person. Professor McGonagall said, her long, pointed nose snorting harshly.
"Professor-please-" "You can't-" "You don't need to tell me what I can and can't do, Potter. Alright, you all go to bed. I've never blushed so much for Gryffindor students as I do now. ”
Throw away one hundred and fifty points at once. In this way, Gryffindor fell to last place. In just one night, they destroyed all of Gryffindor's hopes of winning the House Cup. Harry felt his heart feel empty. Is there any way they could make up for such a loss? Harry couldn't sleep all night. He could hear Neville crying on his pillow for a long time. Harry didn't know what to say to comfort him. He knew Neville, like himself, was afraid of the dawn. What happens when the rest of the Gryffindor students find out what they've done? The next day, the Gryffindor students thought something was wrong when they passed the huge hourglass that recorded the House Cup score. How could they suddenly be one hundred and fifty points less than they were yesterday? And then the news slowly spread: Harry Potter, the famous Harry Potter, the hero of two Quidditch matches, had caused them to lose so many points, and he, along with two other stupid first graders.
At this time, in the Ravenclaw common room-
"It seems that the plan is working, and it was the right thing to do to tell Malfoy the news. Silver tapped his head with a quill and continued his unfinished treatise on the history of magic, "On the Importance of the Three Representations in the Eighteenth-Century Goblin Rebellion"
