Chapter Forty-Nine: Run
"At most, I'll take you to the door of that madman's cell. "Even the deaf goblin can't stand the madman's chatter." ”
"That's enough. Silver said. "You just have to get us there. ”
They hurried towards one of the doors in the hall. Walked through the door into the rough stone corridor, lit by flaming torches, and when the door behind them slammed shut, Silver felt Hermione breathe a sigh of relief. Silver thought about it, but still didn't tell her that "the challenge has just begun."
The goblin whistled, and a small cart rolled along the tracks from the darkness. They climbed into the cart.
The cart started suddenly, getting faster and faster, and the cart began to turn around along the labyrinth of corridors, rushing downward, and the sound of the clatter made them unable to hear anything. They made sharp turns from stalactite to stalactite, speeding deep into the earth.
They descended to a depth they had never reached before, and made a sharp turn, only to see a waterfall crashing down the tracks in front of them.
Silver reacted quite quickly, pointed his wand at the cart, whispered a spell, and saw the speeding cart slowly stop.
The old goblin looked at Silver suspiciously, "What are you doing, are you going to get off here? ”
Silver pointed to the waterfall, "We have a lot of valuable magical items on us, and we have been washed away by the thief waterfall that can wash away all the magic spells, is this loss paid by Gringotts?"
The old goblin sneered, "Naturally, this is not a loss." ”
"So we have to stop. Silver said, "Can you turn this thing off?"
"This is the latest resolution at the goblin meeting, and the Thief Falls has to be open 24 hours a day. The old elf looked cautiously at Silver.
"Hmph, don't think I don't know who you're guarding against. Silver said displeased, "Forget it, I don't have time to worry about you now." ”
The old elf bowed his head and rubbed his hands. Seems a little embarrassed.
So he didn't see Silver's wand pointing at him - it was a tragedy to be short.
"Out of body!"
The voice echoed through the stone corridor, and the old elf raised his head, his expression changing to a polite indifference.
"Oh, I don't know your name yet. Silver said.
"My name is Bogorod. The old elf said in an emotionless tone.
"So, Bogrod, I need you to wait here for us to come out, and please cut off the alarm from the Burglar Falls and tell the other elves that we're going very well here, understand?" Silver emphasized.
"Understood. Bogrode replied in the same tone.
"Give me the key. ”
Stunned, Bogorode took out a small leather bag. Handed over to Silver,
"Jack, are you sure that's okay?" Hermione climbed out of the cart with Silver's help.
"No problem, just an old and frail ordinary goblin, and my Imperius Curse can control him for a long time. Silver said.
"That's not what I meant, Jack. Hermione said, by this time she had been pulled by Sylphor and ran towards the waterfall. "Can we really convince that mad goblin Spencer?"
"Of course, Hermione, the relationship between elves and wizards has never been friendly. If the power of the wizarding world is integrated, the first unlucky one will be the goblins. Silver said.
They rushed across the waterfall, water filling their eyes and mouths for a moment. They can't open their eyes and they can't breathe. Then they rushed over.
"Ahem, ahem. Hermione choked on the water, Silver patted her on the back, and now she wasn't Bellatrix anymore. It was Hermione standing there on her own, soaking wet in her oversized robes. Silver himself has become what he was. Because Hermione was touching his cheek.
"You're so much more pleasing to the eye than you were just now. Hermione said.
Silver couldn't help but roll his eyes, "You too, Hermione." ”
"Where do we go next?" asked Hermione, "the madman Spencer should be locked up in the deepest part of Gringotts." ”
"Yes, in the deepest depths of Gringotts, where even the Dark Lord can't reach, only goblins can guide others there. "Follow me, Gringotts is also full of danger.
They turned a corner and spotted the danger that Silver had mentioned.
A huge fiery dragon was tethered to the ground in front of it, preventing people from approaching the four or five deepest vaults there. Confined to the ground for too long, the dragon's scales had become pale and loose, its eyes were cloudy pink, and its hind legs were heavily shackled, with thick chains attached to massive stakes driven deep into the stone ground. Its large, spiky wings tucked into its sides, filling the entire basement if unfolded. The dragon turned its ugly head at them, let out a loud roar that made the stones tremble, and opened its jaws to spew a stream of fire, forcing them to run back down the aisle.
"Damn, it's a fiery dragon. Silver touched his somewhat burned hair, with some shame.
"You're alright, Jack. Hermione pulled some bottles and cans out of her bag, "I've got burn medicine here." ”
"Thank you, Hermione, but I'm fine, just some hair burned. Silver pinched the small bag that Bogorod had handed him.
"I wonder if I should just kill this damn dragon. ”
"Jack, it's innocent. ”
"He almost killed you and me. ”
"But it's bound here by goblins, you see, it's blind. ”
"Okay. Silver gave up the idea of killing the dragon - in such a small space, it would be very risky to kill a dangerous old dragon.
"The goblins have a way to control it. Silver took some small metal utensils from his pouch and shook them with a loud and crisp clanging sound, like a small hammer smashing on an anvil.
"The fire dragon has formed a conditioned reflex to this sound, and will avoid it as soon as it hears it. Silver said to Hermione.
"How do you know that?"
"Because the Silver family used to hold a stake in Gringotts~"
They turned the corner again as they shook the ding-dang piece, and the noise echoed between the stone walls, magnified many times over, so loud that their brains seemed to vibrate. The dragon let out a hoarse roar and stepped back. They could see it trembling, and as they got closer, they saw the terrible scars on its face, which were obviously the work of the elves.
"Follow me, Hermione. Silver strides quickly, "That place isn't far from here!" (to be continued......)
