Chapter 391: Technique is King's Way
I believe that many enthusiasts will feel that the props are very stupid after playing the magic for a certain period of time. Technique is king. Of course, I've already argued against this in one article. After watching the coin magic of many enthusiasts, I have summed up a little something, and I hope it will be of some use to everyone.
Coin magic is often more like magic than skill, and when viewers watch card magic, it usually comes down to the magician's skill, that is, card skills. But in Coin Magic, they only occasionally say that it is hidden in the other hand, but a better performance will make the audience feel like an incredible dream. Of course, I'm not denying the magic of solitaire here, and the effects of cards are greater than coins in many places, but coins also have some things that solitaire can't do.
Practice, which is undoubtedly the path of all magic. However, the practice of coin magic is far more difficult than that of cards, and it is not enough to know one or two tricks to be able to play coin magic. It usually takes half a year to get your hands on the coin, but I mean you can palm the coin and it is quite natural, and you don't need to think about which technique to use next, how to palm, how to handle it, and so on. When practicing coins, the chance of breaking my hand is much higher than playing cards, and my hand has broken the skin and cocoon again countless times when practicing coins! However, it also pays off, as you can convert your coins from any position in your hand to CLASSICPALM at almost any time.
The hardest part of the coin magic trick is his performance. It's not like solitaire, the change can be very large, and a change of an ace into a king is quite a big change, and people will feel quite surprised, but a coin thrown into the other hand becomes two, and the effect is much lower than the change effect of the card.
This is where the performing arts become particularly important, for example: CYRIL believes that no one will be unfamiliar with it. The magic he plays is not necessarily very difficult to guess, but the feeling of magic is really hard to find. A coin was held in his hand, gently rubbed, blown, kneaded and slowly opened, and the shock shocked almost everyone present. The same coin, the same technique, the same effect, in the hands of other magic lovers, can not achieve such a shock, the reason is simple - that feeling!
In fact, the coin magic trick is not difficult, and of course the basic techniques need to be practiced repeatedly, but the superb performance is more important. I'VE SEEN ENTHUSIASTS PERFORM A VERY POWERFUL THREEFLY. But the audience just said, presumably a coin. Hehe~ A bit of a failed performance. The magic of the coin, in my mind, the basic technique is the basis for completing your magic, and your acting skills are the tools to make magic!
I still remember the last time I performed a 4A magic trick in front of a few friends, and the performance was probably like this: take out the playing cards, open the fan, and check that each card is different. Okay, and then use a bunch of fancy tricks to quickly cut out the 4 aces from the inside, well, after the performance, the audience applauded happily, praised: the fingers are so flexible, the technique is so fast, good cow! And today, in the same way, in front of those few people, perform 4A magic, and today's performance is like this, first the fire paper conjures the first A, then, the doublelift conjures the second A, secondly, the cut card cuts out the third A, and finally there is a doublelift, hey, wrong. After putting in o and conjuring up the fourth ace, they said to me excitedly: "What a cow!" It's amazing! How did you change??
Comprehensively observing the above two performances, the first performance, the audience's reaction is: the fingers are so flexible, and the technique is so fast. Obviously, in their hearts, they know that they have found it by hand. The audience for the second performance was: What a cow! It's amazing! It can be seen that the second performance is a real magic show for the audience, because from the audience's point of view, they think that the effect is "transformed", rather than feeling that you have made it with a technique.
Magic is not acrobatics, the technique is collected inward, and the effect is "transformed", so that there is enough surprise. Therefore, we should think more from the perspective of the audience, instead of blindly pursuing how complex and dazzling the technique is, you must know that the audience looks at the magic to see the effect, not how dazzling your technique is. We try to be as "clean" as possible, rather than using a whole bunch of complicated and dazzling tricks to make magic effects.
The truth of the change is concealed with extremely agile and imperceptible techniques and special devices, which make the audience feel fantastical. A magician is an actor, and he plays a character with magic. Just like we look at it, does the "miracle" inside seem to feel like something manual? The answer is: no, that's a miracle!
A truly powerful magic show is to make the audience not notice that you are playing tricks, but feel that incredible things have happened without you even touching your hands and feet, which is the real miracle! This kind of performance can impress the audience and entertain the audience! If you make them feel that your magic effect is done by manipulation, can it be called a miracle in their minds? At most, they think that you are just a good man, and just like the first time I used dazzling flower cut to perform 4A magic tricks to my friends, at most I praised you for your awesome skills, rather than praising how amazing your magic tricks are, so this kind of performance can't make up an incredible effect in the minds of some of their audiences, if you want to be strict, since it can't make up an "incredible effect", it's not called magic!
