Therefore, natural gas extraction generally adopts the self-injection method.

However, because the pressure of gas wells is generally high and natural gas is flammable and explosive, the pressure bearing capacity and sealing performance of the gas production wellhead device are much higher than those of the oil production wellhead device.

Natural gas extraction also has its own characteristics. First of all, natural gas, like crude oil, is often a storage system like bottom or edge water. As the natural gas is extracted, the elastic energy of the water body drives the water into the gas reservoir along the high permeability zone.

In this case, due to the hydrophilicity of the rock itself and the action of capillary pressure, the intrusion of water does not effectively displace the gas, but closes the undischarged gas in the cracks, holes or voids, forming a dead gas zone.

The amount of high-pressure gas trapped in the water intrusion zone can be as high as 30%~50% of the pore volume of the rock, which greatly reduces the final recovery rate of the gas reservoir.

Secondly, after the gas well produces water, the seepage resistance of gas into the bottom of the well will increase, and the total energy consumption of the gas-liquid two-phase pipeline flow along the oil well will increase significantly. With the increasing impact of water intrusion, the gas recovery rate of the gas reservoir decreases, the self-blowing capacity of the gas well is weakened, and the production of a single well decreases rapidly until the bottom of the well is seriously waterlogged and the production is stopped.

At present, the treatment of gas reservoir flooding mainly starts from two aspects, one is drainage, and the other is water blockage. Water shut-off is to use mechanical plugging, chemical plugging and other methods to separate the gas-producing layer from the aquifer or establish a water-blocking barrier in the reservoir. At present, there are many drainage methods, and the main principle is to eliminate the water accumulation in the wellbore, and the professional term is called drainage and gas recovery method.

It won't be so troublesome here, and if it weren't for the solid exploration data in front of them, the experts who were exploring here would not have believed that there was no water in the gas reservoirs here, no water at all, and only clean gas deep underground.
