Third, H (Hardare) hardware design:

The main design circuits and antennas are used to meet the configuration requirements of mobile phones.

The circuit part first makes an enlarged version of the PCB motherboard according to the configuration parameters, carries out various debugging, and then condenses it into a mobile phone motherboard after the scheme is feasible.

Hardware design (H) Another important part is antenna design, the mobile phone supports more and more frequency bands, the more the antenna design tests the wisdom and experience of hardware design (H) engineers, the antenna must be far away from the battery, and there can be no metal devices nearby.

It can be said that in order to take into account the antenna design, both the ID design and the MD design have to make way for the antenna design of the hardware design (H), the obvious example is the much-complained antenna on the iPhone 6/Plus, which is a compromise made in order to take into account the signal problem.

Fourth, S (Softare) software design:

It's a system that runs on a mobile phone. Like Apple's IOS system, and the popular Andriod system.

In addition, between the motherboard hardware and the operating system, there is something called BSP (Board Support Package), which is a board-level support package, which can also be said to be a part of the operating system, the main purpose is to support the operating system and make it better run on the hardware motherboard.

Software design (S) is a bottomless project, and the hardware part may complete the mission at one time it is finalized, but software development must be constantly iteratively updated, developing new features, fixing bugs, improving stability, and developing new features...... Such an infinitely circular process.

The position of the software part in the smartphone is extremely important, intelligence is not only reflected in the hardware configuration, but also the realization of more functions also requires creativity at the software level, and the mission of software design is to maximize the potential of the existing hardware.

The above four aspects are basically the R&D and design links of a smart phone, and through the four links of ID, MD, H, and S, a smart phone has completed the R&D and design stage.

The design of the mobile phone is only the first step, and the most important thing is to make the mobile phone.

So, the next two aspects are also very critical.

Fifth, PM (Project Management) project management:

PM is divided into technical and non-technical types, and the division of labor is also more detailed, formulating project planning and schedule, the boss of R&D, and the person in charge of the project is also the big PM, and the PM of each department needs to regularly report the results and progress to the big PM, as well as the problems encountered in the development process. It can be said that PM runs through the entire R&D and manufacturing process of mobile phones.

At present, take the popular mobile phone project as an example: the total PM of the project is Wang Hao, the R&D PM is Andy, and the hardware manufacturing PM has not yet been ......

Sixth, the last link, QA (Quality Assurance) quality supervision:

QA plays a role in the quality control of mobile phone production, whether the project is feasible, how about the quality and reliability, every innovation needs to be tested and reviewed by QA, if it is found that the production is too difficult, the yield rate is low, or the test link cannot be passed, then the plan will be rejected.

After all, the production of a mobile phone is not as simple as doing experiments in the laboratory, once the production is tens of thousands, to ensure the quality of each product is not a simple and easy task, the production of a mobile phone sample and the production of 100,000 mobile phones are completely two yards......

Hardware manufacturing for smartphones is a very complex and highly specialized field.

This person must not only be proficient in the research and development of the core hardware part of the previous mobile phone design process, such as various RF electronic circuits, antennas, etc.

It is also necessary to understand the test, so that the mobile phone can pass the FTA, CTA and the test indicators of the operator, and build the test bench and various data test laboratories.

In addition, it is necessary to understand quality control, and be responsible for technical support and product quality assurance supervision of OEM factories.

The most important thing is that this person must also be a master of supply chain management, you know, there may be hundreds of parts that need to be purchased in a smart phone, it is impossible to produce them yourself, and global procurement is required, and the requirements for supply chain management are very high...... It is a very test of the management level of the person in charge!

In 2016, Apple had 766 suppliers in the world, including 346 suppliers in Chinese mainland, ranking first in the world, Japan and the United States with 126 and 69 respectively, ranking second and third, and Taiwan with 41, ranking fourth.

Apple also has 18 assembly factories around the world: 16 of which are Taiwanese-funded factories, including 7 Foxconn, 3 Quanta, and 2 Pegatron. Of all the factories, 14 are located in China, 2 in the United States, 1 in Europe, and 1 in South America.

All this, without a strong supply chain management, is not possible to achieve the global iPhone hot sales situation.
