Chapter 381: It's Peculiar Here!
A maple closed his eyes and began to recall, feel, and experience the surroundings by relying on his memory......
General Green Tree General Grant
The trail near the General Grant Tree, which President Calvin Coolidge has dubbed "America's Christmas Tree," has the most visitors. Since 1926, every year during the Christmas season, a celebration has been held under the General Green Tree. There's plenty of room under the tree for celebrations, as the giant tree is 107 feet/33 meters in circumference. If that's not the way it is, imagine this: if the General Green tree were transplanted into the middle of the highway, its trunk would occupy three lanes. A flat 0.3 mile/0.5 km trail loops around the General Green Tree, and along the trail you can also visit neighboring sequoias, including the Fallen Monarch, a hollow and collapsed sequoia.
The circumference of this giant sequoia is very long, so it was once used as a stable by the United States Cavalry.
Encounter a very interesting tree, this tree fell more than 100 years ago, but it still does not rot to this day, and the hole in the middle can be enough for at least 3 people to walk through at the same time! If you want to enclose it hand in hand, the thickest one needs at least 20 people to enclose it.
Finally, Zhang Feng came to the giant tree forest area and saw many American cedars, the largest creature in the world, far more than any other species of creature in terms of weight and size. The American cedar was found in many parts of the world before the Quaternary Ice Age. With the exception of a few square kilometres of trees in the Sierra Nevada that were too high to be affected, trees were destroyed everywhere the glacier went. It is the most well-preserved area and the most extensive area of pristine redwoods in the world today.
In addition to the General Sherman Tree, the ashington tree is also an eye-catcher, and it is consistently considered the second largest tree in the world. It used to be only 20 feet shorter than the General Sherman tree, but its canopy was burned down after a lightning fire in the 1990s.
Under the backdrop of the towering trees, Zhang Feng felt that he had become so small.
On the way, Zhang Feng also met someone who proposed, the heroine was crying and almost fainted, Zhang Feng and passers-by applauded and shouted loudly: Together! Together! (Yes,I do! )
When you arrive at Fir National Park, you have to climb Moluo Rock at least once, and it is not difficult to climb Moluo Rock. Moluo Rock is a bare granite dome at 6,725 feet/2,050 meters above sea level, and Zhang Feng starts from the forest at the bottom of the dome and walks along the walkway to the top of the stairs. The journey takes little time, with the dome only 300 feet/91 meters high, but with a total of 400 steps, even the strongest visitors will be out of breath, and once at the top, Zhang Feng enjoys a very beautiful view.
Along the way, I passed a tree that had fallen for 100 years, so a hole was dug for five or six people to pass through at the same time.
A 2,400-year-old redwood tree collapsed on the road in 1937, and workers dug through the thick trunk to make it easier for vehicles to clear the road. Today it is an attraction. Many cars lined up to take pictures with it and drove cars through the hollow tree hole tunnels, which shows how huge it is. And this number of tunnels is a scene in the park, many people in order to take a photo with this tunnel tree slowly drove in line, waited for about 15-20 minutes to arrive at us, panicked to climb to the top of the husband in the car and shouted to me to hurry up, see that many people are still queuing so they hurriedly clicked a few left.
In the evening, Zhang Feng opened his notebook at the place where he lived and began to write about things:
Yosemite National Park has four gates, which are:
South Entrance (Hwy 41 Los Angeles, Fresno direction)
Big Oak Flat Entrance (Route 120 San Francisco, Manteca)
West Gate Arch Rock Entrance (Merced direction)
East Gate Tioga Pass Entrance (Mono Lake, Death Valley direction) This gate is restricted by snow and ice, and it is closed in spring and winter, and the opening date and summer opening hours of the park are uniformly managed.
Not far from San Francisco and Los Angeles, Yosemite is one of the busiest national parks in the United States. Yosemite Valley has a limited number of campsites, and the demand for train tickets during the tourist season is no less than that of the Spring Festival train, and some people have even made a special Yosemite website to swipe empty rooms. Among them, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, because of its best location, usually takes half a year or even a year in advance. Some campsites in the valley can be booked online up to three months in advance and usually fill up quickly; Other camps are on a first-come, first-served basis, so try your luck if you really can't do it. In addition, there are often people who cancel their trips temporarily before the scheduled date, and it is likely that there will be a windfall if you browse the Internet a few days before the trip. Accommodation outside of the park is relatively easy to do, Fresno accommodation is cheap and easy to book, and the west gate of the park (Mariposa) is only an hour's drive from the Valley, so I personally recommend this area of the place.
If you plan to live in the park, there are several ways:
Camping yourself, this one is more cost-effective. However, some Camping Grounds require reservations, while others are on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's best to check before you go. These places generally have supporting facilities such as water and electricity, and there is also a way to Camping is to settle down anywhere without the Camping ground provided by the park. For example, you can hiking to the top of a mountain or to a flat mountain, such as near Inspiration Point (Tunnel Vie Annex) and Sentinel Dome (Glacier Point). However, this kind of camping usually requires a permit first, and you must park your car in the parking lot of Vernight Parking.
Half Dome Village is a simple tent house that provides beds, heating, chairs, safes, and doors, but you have to go to the large common area for washing and bathing. It's still very cold at night in April, not recommended if you don't bring your own warm gear, it's really cold.
Yosemite Fall Lodge is the better one, just below Yosemite Falls, and it's the start of peak season and rooms are booked early.
There is an upscale hotel in the Yosemite Valley Hotel, called the Ahahnee Hotel, which costs about $400 a night and the rooms are extremely tight. This hotel is very beautiful and was built in 1927. The inside of the hotel is very beautiful, and if you don't stay, you can use it as an attraction.
I'm coming from the direction of Los Angeles so the first night stayed in Fresno, Days inn 79/1 night, breakfast included Address: It takes about an hour and 20 minutes from Fresno to the south gate of the park, and about 1 hour after entering the south gate and then to the main attraction Valley, so it adds up to about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
I stayed near the West Gate on the night I left the park, I recommend this gate because it is the most convenient to get in and out of the park, only an hour's drive away, and of course the price is not cheap Comfort Inn Yosemite Valley Gateay
