Chapter 361: Locket Box
After Ryan and the three of them cleaned up in the living room for a while, Lupin also went upstairs to join them. With the help of the former Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, the cleanup was sped up considerably.
In the process, Ryan also managed to get a few goodies, such as a silver tool that resembled multi-legged tweezers that could crawl like a spider. Because Ryan felt he could convert this thing into something useful, he used a rune to quiet it down and asked Sirius to take this thing away. (Sirius: I told you which one you like to take directly.) οΌ
"What's in there?" Lupin took out a souvenir box and broke it hard, "Why can't you open this thing?"
Sirius took the box and tried it, and then said curiously, "Why don't I remember this thing in the cupboard?
"Do you remember where everything in the cabinet came from? How did you do that? I can't remember where some of the things in my decorative cabinet came from. Hermione said in surprise at what Sirius had to say.
"I hate these. Sirius smiled wryly. "But since I was five years old, my parents have often brought me here to tell me stories behind things, and sometimes even made me eat rusks and drink water for a meal because I didn't tell me about the glory behind something. In this case, I still remember everything even after I left here for many years. β
"Can you show me?" Ryan said after Sirius had finished speaking, and Ryan suddenly came to his senses with a snort when they said they couldn't open it. Because he thought of something important.
Taking the souvenir box, Ryan found the so-called souvenir box, an egg-sized locket made of octagonal gold. The lid has an ornate letter S on it, which is set with emeralds. What's more, when Ryan perceives the box through magic, he finds that the magic runes on the box are far more complex than anything else.
"Blake. Ryan turned and looked at Sirius gravely. "If I'm not mistaken, this thing should be a relic belonging to Slytherin, one of the Big Four of Hogwarts. It is very precious, and it can even be said that the things in your glass cabinet are not as expensive as the locket. As is customary at home, you can't just cram here without any records. β
"It could only be that I was kicked out of my house and put here. Sirius's face turned serious when he heard this, "In that case, I think only Kreacher knows where this thing came from." β
With that, he shouted into the air, "Kreacher." With a snap, the house-elf appeared in the living room.
"Oh, that nasty young master is pointing fingers at poor old Kreacher again. As if everything here really belonged to him. After saying that, he looked up at the decorative cabinet and said, "Even he took out the things that carried the honor of the family, like a robber who broke into this houseβ"
"Shut up!" Sirius interrupted Kreacher's rambling before pulling out the locket. "Tell me where this thing came from, and I ask you to answer truthfully. There shall be no concealment or lies. β
Kreacher had only looked at his feet, but he had only been forced to look up at Sirius's hand. At the first glance, Kreacher's expression froze. Then he gasped for air, his shriveled chest heaved sharply, and then he opened his eyes and let out a blood-clotting scream.
"βAnd the locket, Master Regulus's locket, Kreacher made a mistake, Kreacher failed to carry out the young master's orders!" said it, picking up a heavy silver box and smashing it on the head. Ryan and Hermione grabbed him left and right, and then shouted to Sirius, "Quick, let him stop." β
"I order you to stop. Sirius, who was slightly stunned by what the house-elf said, quickly came to his senses at Ryan's shouting, and then ordered Kreacher.
As soon as the order was given, Kreacher stiffened there. Ryan had let go of his hand before Kreacher lay upright on the cold stone floor, tears pouring out of his sunken eyes. At this time, even the most obtuse person can see that this locket box should involve something very important.
"You said the locket belonged to 'Master Regulus,'" Sirius said, "and why did my brother have such a thing? What orders did he give you that you didn't finish?Kreacher, sit there and tell me everything you know about the locket and my brother's relationship with it!"
Kreacher sat up, curled up in a ball, tucked his soothing face between his knees, and began to shake back and forth. When he spoke, his voice was low and muffled, but it was very clear in the empty and quiet living room.
"Master Sirius has fled, and it's good to be gone, for he is a bad boy, and his unruly behavior has broken my mistress's heart. But Master Regulus had self-esteem, and he knew what the surname Black and his pure bloodline meant. At the age of sixteen, he joined the Dark Lord's organization, and he was so proud, so proud, so happy, to be able to serve ......"
"Well, my brother is too weak and unassertive. Instigated by my parents, I ran after the Dark Lord. But the Death Eater job really wasn't for him. Hearing this, Sirius said in a very low tone. "If he had left the house like me, maybe he would have been a Tornado chaser right now. I always heard him talk about this before I left the house. β
Listening to Sirius's recollections, Kreacher's tears flowed even harder, tears flowed down his long nose into his grinning mouth, and a mouthful of gray teeth could be seen, "A year later, one day, Master Regulus came to visit Kreacher in the kitchen. Young Master Regulus has always liked Kreacher. Young Master Regulus said...... He said......"
The old elf sobbed hard, and his body shook faster.
β...... He said the Dark Lord wanted an elf. Young Master Regulus contributed Kreacher. It was an honor, said by Master Regulus, for himself and for Kreacher. Kreacher had to do everything the Dark Lord wanted him to do...... And then go back - go home. β
At this point, Kreacher's answer began to be choppy at the painful memory, but the four wizards sitting here still listened attentively.
So Kreacher went to the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord didn't tell Kreacher what to do, but took Kreacher to a cave by the sea. It was a big cave with a big black lake in it...... There is a boat by the lake...... The boat took me to the island in the lake, with a stone-stone basin on it, full of potions. Black - The Dark Lord makes Kreacher drink ......"
Kreacher drank, and when he did, he saw many horrible sights...... Kreacher's internal organs were on fire...... Kreacher shouted to Master Regulus to save him, to call for the mistress, but the Dark Lord only laughed...... He forced Kreacher to drink all the potion...... He threw a locket into the empty basin...... And he filled the basin with potions. β
Then the Dark Lord got on board and left, leaving Kreacher on the island...... Kreacher needed water, and he crawled to the edge of the island to drink from the Black Lake...... Many hands, dead men's hands, stretched out of the water and dragged Kreacher down......"
The hoarse voice made everyone feel a chill rising from behind, and Hermione subconsciously grabbed Ryan's hand when she heard this, and Ryan gently patted the back of her hand with her other hand to soothe him.
"And then, what happened?" Sirius asked.
"Master Regulus has said that he wants Kreacher to come home. Kreacher smiled wryly. "The supreme law of house-elves is the master's command, and the master tells Kreacher to go home, and Kreacher goes home......"
