This is the end of the book for the time being, but the story of "Game Pioneer" can only be regarded as just beginning (there are still volumes 5 and 6 after the original plan), and there are still too many things that will happen gradually from 2001, "911", "SARS", "Great Freeze", "Great Earthquake", "Olympic Games", as well as games in development such as "The World", the development of the China Independent Game Festival, the future of the game expo, where will the WCG belonging to China go, the Oriental Industrial Group controlled by Zhang Lexing, How will Universal Entertainment Group and VisualSystem Group develop in the future, whether Sega and Nintendo can be completely annexed, how long will Sony Computer Entertainment hold out, and whether there will be other competitors in the future.

All of this should have been included in the novel "Game Trailblazer", but maybe my writing ability is limited, and because of the change in work since April, there is not enough time to write, resulting in "Game Trailblazer" finally had to be hastily ended, and the many clues left behind can only be left for the future when the time is rich and slowly improved, maybe if you have time next year, you can consider writing a sequel to make up for the unfinished content of "Game Trailblazer", or maybe "Game Blazer" Tearing down and rewriting may be able to modify the content of the story more smoothly and refreshingly.

The biggest motivation for writing the book "Game Pioneer" is because I haven't seen a good novel about the development of domestic games. I've read a lot of online game novels, which don't involve much game development, among which "Rebirth: The Peak of Technology" is very unreal, but the future games described in it are really fascinating, and other novels about game development are too unreal.

For example, in one novel, the protagonist developed a game called "Monopoly" in 1995, and it can actually achieve 40,000 people online. In 1995, at that time, the country was basically still an Internet desert, 14.4Kbps kittens are still the best high-end equipment, and even the BBS that is directly dialed by the telephone line is still very rare, in this environment to engage in 40,000 online online games, I am afraid that even China Telecom (at that time it was called the Post and Telecommunications Bureau) itself can not be handled.

What's even more exaggerated is that in another novel, also in 1995, the protagonist is looking for second-hand computers to engage in Internet cafes, and 1500 "superb" second-hand computers actually want to run "Resident Evil" on it, if Kutaragi Ken knows, he will definitely throw the PS into the garbage heap, and instead use the so-called "superb" second-hand computers that the protagonist has found.

When I first started writing, the book was going to use the name "Game World", but unfortunately someone had already used it at the starting point, so it was replaced by "Game World", and unfortunately the name was illegal, so the book "Game Pioneer" was finally born.

When I first conceived it, it was just like writing a book describing the game development industry, and I also collected a lot of relevant information, such as the basics of game development, how to build a game development team, the main process of game development, etc., and even included some mood articles written by game developers, just read Guo Da's "Rebirth 1994: Football Storm" during that time So the starting year of the protagonist is set in 1990 (that is, the period described in the last chapters of the first volume of this book), and the identity is a lucky person who has been reborn in the 80s, who has used the advantages of the prophet to accumulate a lot of capital, and has the idea of returning to China to start the game industry, and then transferred part of the company's shares at hand, retained other shares with more appreciation value, and returned to China with the cash in exchange, ready to be a pioneer in the domestic game industry.

During this period, I collected a lot of historical materials about games, and then I found that the original domestic game industry did not start in the nineties of the last century (the nineties started with PC games), in fact, there were already game development companies as early as the eighties, or game workshops existed, such as the famous "Smoky Mountain Tank" and N-in-1 Yellow Card and the like were the products of that time, but unfortunately although the start was not too late, but no company could do it for a long time, let alone develop the legendary "domestic game console" artifact" (short-lived A'Can doesn't count). So in addition to the emotion, the protagonist's mission has another task of game console development.

After carefully analyzing the road of game console development, I found that the road is very bumpy, and there are several large companies that cannot get around, Nintendo, Sony Computer Entertainment, and ...... Microsoft. Nintendo was the hegemon of the 80s and the first half of the 90s, Sony Computer Entertainment rose to prominence in the mid-90s, and Microsoft's strongest place was its deep technical reserves and the other was not bad for money.

The protagonist wants to develop his own game console, Nintendo, Sony Computer Entertainment, and Microsoft are the three mountains that are bound to step over, and to be honest, none of these three opponents are fuel-efficient lamps, especially Microsoft is even more difficult to deal with. So the starting time of the protagonist has been advanced again, directly from 1980, and there is the existence of the first volume of this book. As a mainlander living in the early eighties, and a person living in a mainland city, wanting to defeat Microsoft in a short period of time is no different from daydreaming, because it was very difficult to go abroad in that era, even if the protagonist was capable and developed epoch-making software, in that era and environment that did not attach importance to intellectual property rights, it was completely impossible to export software, basically only in the domestic fight, and if it was not good, there was a chance to squat in. So the first super goldfinger was born, the protagonist happened to meet Yu Youcheng, and successfully fooled the other party to help sell the software he "developed", and then took the opportunity to go abroad, came to the United States via Hong Kong, and picked up a super CEO Yang Xinxin by the way.

In fact, the current starting point of the "Game Trailblazer" basically belongs to the fourth modified version, compared with the original version of the addition of a lot of content, such as the movie circle, the lawsuit of Dungeons and Dragons, the bait plan against Sony Computer Entertainment, etc., although the content is a lot richer, but unfortunately my writing is limited, and I can't control so many clues, so that the direction of the plot is not ups and downs enough, and there is a lack of enough attractive descriptions, but fortunately, the entire outline is basically continued.

When I started writing "Game Pioneer" in 2009, I didn't expect to write it for so long, the initial plan time was about 1 and a half years, and it was almost 1.2 million words to write, but it was written and changed, and it was overturned several times, and it was unconsciously delayed to 2011, almost 2 and a half years. At the beginning, I did a few changes a day, and I broke for a period of time to revise them, and then basically maintained a daily update for a long time, and occasionally added one or two changes, only to find out later that the development of the whole book was a little too fast due to the long time span.

From 1980 to 2001, which I have written so far, there have been 21 years, and according to the writing method of many online novels, it can be tens of millions of words. For example, the first volume, in fact, is not very closely related to "Game Trailblazer", and can exist as a "prequel", and maybe more interesting content can be added, because the entire eighties is a turbulent period in the game industry, with the collapse of the industry brought about by the Atari shock, and the re-emergence of red and white machines, as well as the start of PC games, and Sega's magical repeated defeats, rather than the current first volume, which only took thirty-seven chapters to bring it over, and the plot advanced too fast.

Other volumes also have similar problems, many interesting content or abandoned or abbreviated, and even some of the foreshadowing completely abandoned in the later stage, if you can save a little more manuscript in advance, the ability to control the writing is a little stronger, maybe it can bring a completely different "Game Pioneer", maybe it can have a chance to get more readers' recognition.

Zhang Lexing, as the protagonist, was not intended to be an omniscient God from the beginning, just an ordinary guy who knew a little clue about future development and had strong middle-aged computer development capabilities (these are described in the prologue), so in addition to the early days, "Game Pioneer" There is no Zhang Lexing who relies on the memory in his head to develop the plot of various games and software, that is, he can come up with a lot of game ideas, and even only the initial idea of the game is left in the later stage, after all, it is impossible for ordinary people to play all the games, and it is impossible to remember the settings of all games, and the game setting is not something that can be easily discovered just by playing games. This setting may not be YY, but I think it may be more realistic, and it can also show that game development is an activity that requires collective strength.

Throughout "Game Pioneer", Zhang Lexing's ideas have been changing, at the beginning he thought that the revitalization of the game industry only required enough technical talents, so there was an early Tianzhiyuan and the organization of employees to go abroad for training, and there was also a game academy and help for many domestic game companies. Later, Zhang Lexing found that in the domestic environment, the revitalization of the game industry is not just a technical issue, the public opinion environment, government tendencies, industry self-discipline, etc. are all indispensable, so there are plans such as the China Game Industry Association, game grading standards, game expos, independent game festivals, etc., in contrast, the development plan of game consoles is not so important.

After the temporary end of Game Pathfinder, I will not completely give up writing, and will use my spare time to continue, but I have not fully figured out what to write next, it may be Game Pathfinder II, or it may be a brand new book. However, it will take some time to prepare, I still have an important exam next year, and I still have daily work, so I don't have a lot of time to write, and considering the lack of writing, I still need to practice and accumulate for a while before I can start writing again, and before that, I may only be able to save up some novel ideas.
