Chapter 529: Gringotts
After dinner on the last day of February, Ryan and Hermione had just entered the library to prepare for their homework in the library. Suddenly, a flash of fire flashed on the table in front of them, and a tightly rolled parchment suddenly appeared on the table.
"Is Headmaster Dumbledore looking for you?" Hermione asked, turning her head, because the flash of fire just now was so obvious that she could tell at a glance that it was a phoenix delivering something, and the only phoenix in the entire castle was Dumbledore's Fawkes.
"It should be. Ryan lowered his head and opened the parchment rolled up in a ball, and found a few lines written on it in a long, thin, looped font: Please bring what you have prepared to the headmaster's office immediately, we should go, the password is gold coins and chocolates.
Apparently Dumbledore thought that now was the best time to enter Gringotts, so Ryan said goodbye to Hermione and asked her to bring her textbooks back to the common room, before quickly running upstairs to where the Headmaster's office was. When he opened the door and walked up the spiral staircase, the oak door opened, and Ryan noticed that in addition to Dumbledore, wearing a purple robe, sitting on the same chair he used to sit, Sirius was also sitting in a rather formal robe, looking a little reserved.
"Good evening, Headmaster Dumbledore. Good evening, Sirius. Ryan greeted the two in the office first. "We're nowβ"
"Let's go to Gringotts Bella's vault now to get Voldemort's Horcruxes. Professor Dumbledore nodded. "Because I have conclusive evidence today that Voldemort has gone to Greece with Bella and two other Death Eaters. They've left the UK now, and I can guarantee that we won't run into them when we're looking for something. β
"But how are we going to get in in a moment? assault or infiltration?" Ryan asked.
"Neither. Dumbledore shook his head slightly. "You don't have to speak for a moment, I have a really good way to break through most of the guards in front, and of course it will require Sirius's help, which is why I called him here today. β
"It's a pleasure to help you in such an important matter, Professor Dumbledore. Xiao Tian nodded slightly.
After making sure everyone was ready, Professor Dumbledore stood up behind the table, and then asked Sirius to take his hand and Ryan to take Sirius's hand. "We're using Fox to go to Diagon Alley now, so you two get it right. β
Ryan and Sirius nodded, and Phoenix Fawkes flew from the shelf to Dumbledore's empty hand. A flash of fire flashed, and the three disappeared from the headmaster's room.
When the fire cleared, Ryan found that they had appeared in an inconspicuous little corner of Diagon Alley. After tidying up their clothes, they began to walk in the direction of Gringotts.
The façade of Gringotts, unlike all the shops on this street, is made of snow-white marble. If it weren't for the twisted look, the building could even be called magnificent. Of course, even if the whole building is crooked. Gringotts still stands tall above the surrounding shops and stands out from the crowd on this street.
Even though it was night, the bronze doors of Gringotts were still shining with polishes. A very short elf, dressed as neatly as it had been during the day, as if it had just been ironed scarlet uniform, stood there, bowed politely when he saw Ryan and the others approach, and then opened the door.
Ryan used to come to Gringotts only once a year on average, and he remembered that every time he came to Gringotts, he always had to walk through that short hallway, spend ten minutes with a group of people queuing together, and then pass several tests before he could walk to the counter to handle the business he needed. If it were to be put outside, this kind of service attitude bank would have collapsed a long time ago, and the reason why Gringotts is so prosperous is thanks to the fact that there is only such a bank in the wizarding world.
Thankfully, today they were using Sirius as an excuse to run errands, so they could avoid the queues and other problems faced by a whole bunch of ordinary wizards. Sirius, now as the patriarch of the Black family, is naturally able to enjoy Gringotts' special VIP service for pure-blood families. As soon as the three of them stepped into the hall, an old leprechaun wearing a monocle and a tuxedo greeted them.
"Ah, Dear Headmaster Dumbledore, Mr. Black, and this young gentleman. Is there anything I can do to help you?" the elf walked up to her and bowed deeply, even hitting the floor with its big nose.
"That's right. Sirius stepped forward. "I have some items from my family's treasury that need to be traded to my young partner, and given that what I am going to give him is very precious and this young man is still in school, his headmaster, Mr. Dumbledore, will be witnessing our dealing, so we want to enter my vault now. β
"Absolutely. The old goblin nodded. "Then please show your proof. β
Sirius pulled out a golden key encrusted with emerald gemstones from his bosom, and the old elf examined it and nodded slightly, then bowed again. "The keys were ok and we were ready to go. β
After saying that, he clapped his hands slightly, and a slightly younger goblin walked over.
"I'm going to use Ding Dang Tablets. The older goblin said to him, and the young goblin departed quickly, and in a few moments he brought a small leather bag and handed it to the older elf, which seemed to be filled with tinkling metal. "Yes, yes, please come with me, three distinguished gentlemen. The older goblin said, turning around and leading the way, "I'll take you to the Black family's vault. β
Soon he led Ryan and the three of them through the hall with a large number of counters, and Ryan noticed that unlike what he had seen during the day, there were only fairies sitting behind the counters, weighing precious metals or yawning, far less than the staff during the day.
Soon they passed through the door at the back of the hall and came to a rough stone gallery lit by burning torches. However, Ryan discovers that these torches are not the usual torches at all, and each of them is a magic item.
"Have you noticed a problem with the torches? Sirius said as he watched Ryan stare at the torches, "I wondered why there were such rudimentary torches in a place like Gringotts when I first came here, but at that time my cousin Andomeda, Tonks's mother, told me that these torches were precious magic items that would last for a whole year if they were injected with magic once. β
"It'sβ" Ryan didn't know what to say at this time, even if it was far from the Gubrai Immortal Fire, but as long as it was related to magic items, it wouldn't be cheap. Ryan didn't expect this group of goblins to be so rich.
The elf who had received Ryan stood at the entrance to the hole in front of him and whistled, and a small cart rolled along the track from the darkness. The four people with the goblins were just enough to fill the car.
"Our underground vaults at Gringotts are the safest place to hide their treasures, and you can choose us to keep your wealth for you in the future. As soon as the car started, the goblin sitting in front of him began to chatter. He was mainly targeting Ryan, as there were not many students who could be a partner in a pure-blood family and have Dumbledore accompany him, and he had the impression that Ryan did not handle any financial business at Gringotts.
So the goblin took advantage of the opportunity to try to get business for Gringotts. As for the fact that Ryan is not a pure-blood wizard, the elves don't value it, after all, for them, no matter what the blood of those humans is, the gold is the same. If it weren't for the international secrecy laws, they would even be willing to do business with Muggles.
