Chapter 574: Teaching the Dharma at the Temple of Sorrow

The Haizhou earthquake is only a year and a half away, and some things are beginning to fade into oblivion, such as pain. Pen, fun, pavilion www. biquge。 info

But there are also many things that are remembered in the hearts of all people, such as those who helped them.

Suwen is one of them, and it's a very special one.

After the Haizhou earthquake, many survivors were grateful to Su Wen for what he did at that time, but it was difficult for them to leave their homes that were being rebuilt and run to Lu Province, and they needed a spiritual sustenance.

Therefore, many people will go to the Temple of Sorrow, which is not far from Haizhou.

In addition, there are also rumors in the Sangha of the Sorrowful Temple that Su Wen was in Haizhou at that time, so the monks of the Sorrowful Temple can be said to be thunderous about Su Wen's name.

Although the people of the Temple of Sorrow are ascetic, although there are few monks who come here, they are not ignorant of the outside world.

There are also two computers in the temple that allow people to access some information from the outside.

Su Wen is so young, the Dharma is profound, and he is the abbot of a temple, even if he is already very famous in Buddhism, they naturally know a lot.

When I suddenly saw it today, I was naturally surprised.

Su Wen walked up to the lecture hall and looked down at all the unfamiliar faces, except for the small face in the corner.

"Amitabha, the poor monk Pure Heart Temple asked, I have seen all the initiates. Su Wen first smiled and saluted, and everyone returned the salute below.

"It's a very unexpected thing to be here today. I didn't expect to be here yesterday, but I came because of something. I didn't think about what I would talk about here just now, but now that I am standing here, I can only say that this is my fate with all the initiates here.

Fate is a thing that everyone knows and is not easy to come by. Sometimes you want to get in touch with someone, and you can't do anything to get married. So for the sake of fate, if there is anything wrong with what I said for a while, don't hide it in your heart, and then say in your heart: This Pure Heart Temple is nothing more than that...... Speak up and tell me, and I'll get it too.

As everyone knows, I am the abbot of a monastery, and I also teach the Dharma in the monastery on weekdays, and they listen to whatever I say, and they don't talk to me when they have a lot of things to say, and they don't talk to me when they have ideas. They don't say, "Am I right with what I have to prove my idea?"

So I hope that if there are any different opinions, I will just say them directly, and everyone will refer to them together. ”

As soon as Su Wen's voice fell, a rather warm applause broke out below. This opening remark made everyone in the audience know Su Wen and have a better impression of Su Wen.

The main meaning of this passage is Suwen: it is to hope that everyone will have ideas and say it directly, so that Suwen can explain. Otherwise, after Su Wen finished speaking, the other party would be in the way of face, and if he had an idea in his heart but didn't say it, Su Wen would have no chance to explain.

If they misunderstand the meaning of Su Wen, then the effect of Su Wen's lecture will be greatly reduced.

After all, the two sides have learned differently, and Su Wen is still a little cautious in this lecture.

After saying a few words, Su Wen continued: "Let me tell you a story. But before I speak, I'm going to sit down and talk, and I'm going to be comfortable. ”

Su Wenqiu sat on the podium, feeling that this posture was quite comfortable, and then continued to speak:

"I have a great monk in Zen Buddhism named Huineng, once I went to the Dharma Temple, I saw two monks arguing with a banner with red ears and red ears, Huineng Dade stepped forward to hear it, and only then did he know that they were arguing about the reason why the flag would flutter.

One said, 'If there is no wind, how can the banner move?' The other said, 'How can you know that the wind is moving if there is no banner moving?' The two of them insisted on their own words, and they did not give in to each other.

When Master Huineng heard this, he said to them, 'Please don't quarrel, you two, I am willing to be a fair judge for you, but in fact, it is not the wind that moves, nor the banner that moves, but the heart of the benevolent!'"

Su Wen finished telling the story and kept silent, while the monks of the Temple of Sorrow below fell into deep thought.

After a long time, a monk said: "The phenomenon is the wind flag, and there is no wind flag in its essence, so it is said that the wind flag does not move." If you think that the wind banner is real, it is the heart, and everything is the heart. ”

This statement was nodded in approval by many monks, and Su Wen also bowed slightly.

The monk nodded when he saw Su Wen, and there was a slight hint of joy in his eyes.

Another monk said, "The sails are indeed moving, and if our minds are not affected by the sails, they will move as if they were not moving." ”

This monk's statement is different from the previous one's starting point. The previous monk understood through the description of the truth in the sutras, and this monk understood by keeping the original mind.

Although it seems that the first monk is more in a higher realm, the monks of the Sorrowful Temple agree more with the second statement.

Su Wen nodded in the same way.

When everyone saw the two statements, he nodded, and they couldn't figure out what he was thinking.

"I think what the two senior brothers said is right, one is in essence, and the other is in terms of mindfulness. "The third monk is humane, but he is somewhat cunning and has no opinions of his own.

Su Wen also nodded.

Seeing that he nodded to the three of them, everyone in the audience couldn't help but ask, "Master Suwen, what do you think?"

Su Wen saw that no one below spoke anymore, so he smiled and said, "Actually, what the three of them said is good. There are 84,000 Dharma methods, and these 84,000 Dharma doors all lead to the Great Road, and there is no distinction between high and low, so it is good to suit yourself. ”

Listening to Su Wen say this, the people below were a little disappointed, I wanted to hear Su Wen's thoughts, but I didn't expect him to really tell a story.

Seeing the expressions of the people below, Su Wen smiled and continued: "Actually, I also have some opinions on this story, so it's better to tell it and let's refer to it together." ”

Hearing Su Wen say, everyone showed a look of surprise on their faces, waiting intently to hear what Su Wen could say.

"It's not that it moves because of the heartbeat, and it's not that it's the heart and not the wind.

Wind streak movement, it does happen, it is a phenomenon, but this phenomenon does not have the concept of "moving", only when the definition and concept of moving is in mind, people call it moving, and then you will say, "Oh, it's moving".

There is no difference between movement and stillness, "movement and stillness" is only the definition and distinction of people, it is the text phase, the heart dwells in the phase, and the heart has the difference between "movement and static", so that the wind and the wind move.

This is the same as the Buddha's saying that Prajna, that is, it is not Prajna, but the name Prajna. ”

After Su Wen finished talking this time, everyone below first pondered, the scene was silent for a while, and then began to sound scattered applause.

Su Wen looked in the direction of the applause and saw that Yuan Ji was smiling at him.

Then many monks in the Temple of Sorrow also woke up from their thoughts, and the applause in the audience became more and more enthusiastic, and everyone looked at Su Wen with respect.

If the first monk said the path of the outside and the inside, and the second monk said the path of cultivation, what Su Wen said was the fundamental path.

People are able to comprehend more things from Su Wen's words, including self-appearance and separation, which will be of great benefit to their future practice.

That's why everyone burst into such warm applause, and only after such a lecture will they have respect for Su Wen.

Although it was just a story and a few words, what they gained could save them years and decades of hard work.

Su Wen looked at their appearance, and his heart was also relieved. In this lecture, he did not use his special ability to convey his understanding to the hearts of others.

After all, these people have practiced to a considerable extent, and none of them have been exposed to Zen teachings. If they do that, they may fall into confusion and regress in their cultivation.

So he taught them this lesson through this story that was a household name in his past life and his own understanding.
