Chapter 864 Construction of Pastures and Pastures

In the previous life, there was a song that the Grandmaster liked very much, and the name of that song was "It's Not That Simple".

Although this song is about love, the title of this song really applies to many aspects.

For example, the Grandmaster and his brothers are doing this right now - to really build up the harvest farms and pastures.

A few years ago, Mr. Zhong and the four of them signed a contract with President Armando of Mozambique to establish a harvest farm in Mozambique's Gaza province, and since then the scale of this super farm with an area of up to 1.21 million hectares has been determined.

Although the contract has been signed, it is really necessary to turn things on paper into a real productive farm and pasture, and there are still a lot of things that need to be done by the five grandmasters and their brothers, and things are really not that simple.

The first thing that needs to be done is to enclose this large area of land.

Yes, this 110-kilometre-long super-farm must be fenced off, otherwise the wildebeest and the local wildlife that migrate from here every year will leave the farm with nothing. Moreover, the reason why the harvest farm is called a farm and pasture is that it is obvious that the grandmaster does not just want to engage in a farm to grow food, they also want to raise some livestock here.

Although Dahua has strict import restrictions on food crops, there are no restrictions on the import of livestock, after all, there are pastures for livestock in the north and west of Dahua, and it is no exaggeration to say that Dahua has the largest number of pastures in the world.

Livestock is still very marketable in Dahua, so it is not surprising that harvest farms and ranches need to raise livestock while growing grain.

However, once you have livestock, you have to separate the breeding area from the outside world, otherwise there is a great possibility that these livestock will be harmed by the lions and hyenas on the grassland......

Although it is not a small task to enclose the whole farm, it is undoubtedly much easier than turning over such a large area of farm.

Even if one-third of the area of the harvest pasture is used to raise livestock, the remaining cultivated land area is as high as 800,000 hectares, which is a full 12 million acres of arable land.

The large rotary tiller with a 120-horsepower locomotive produced by the Real Madrid Group can plough 140 acres of land in eight hours a day in a large plot, and even if it is a continuous rotation, it is a maximum of more than 400 acres of land a day.

Although this land is very fertile, it is a wasteland after all, and the weeds here have grown for hundreds of thousands of years, and if you want to grow food here, this cultivated land must be ploughed at least twice.

And if you want to plough all the 12 million acres of land twice in a week, even if you take a non-stop way to rotate the shaft, it will take at least 8,570 large rotary tillers to complete these tasks.

Obviously, it is impossible for the Grandmaster to buy more than 8,000 rotary cultivators at once for the sake of cultivating land, and no matter how rich they are, it is not such a way to play.

However, 500 large rotary tillers are indispensable, even if the method of zonal planting is adopted, the cultivated land can be carried out in a section, and 500 large rotary tillers is the minimum requirement.

In addition to rotary cultivators, large combine harvesters, large seeders and a series of agricultural machinery, each of which has to come at least 800 units, if you wait until all the farms are planted with grain, once the grain enters the harvest period, 800 large combine harvesters are not enough, and then you will either buy new ones or transfer them from the country, then it depends on the situation.

In addition, the farm also needs to complete the relevant water engineering before ploughing.

Although the harvest farm is sandwiched between two large rivers without worrying about the water source, the distance between the two large rivers is more than 110 kilometers, so it is necessary to manually dig irrigation canals and build a water conservancy network covering the entire farm and pasture within the pasture.

This project is not a small project, although the terrain of this farm and pasture is flat and the land is very soft, but the construction of this water conservancy network can not be completed in a year or two, this is a relatively long project.

In addition to ploughing the land, purchasing agricultural machinery, and building water conservancy networks, harvest farms and ranches also face a great problem, that is, transportation problems.

After all, this is a wilderness, not to mention roads, not even dirt roads. Once the farms and pastures are built and the grain harvest is bumper, how to transport tens of millions of tons of grain a year is a huge problem.

Transport by road? Obviously not quite suitable. Therefore, after discussion, the Grandmaster and his brothers decided to use short-distance (15 km) transportation by car, and medium-long distance transportation by rail and boat.

Although the Mozambicans have built two roads in the area of the harvest pastures, the quality of those roads is not even comparable to the county-level roads in the country.

Therefore, the two highway grandmasters did not plan to use them, and could only use them in emergency situations, and they were usually transported by rail and ship.

To do this, the Grandmasters needed to build two north-south railway lines running 50 kilometers apart from each other on the farm, stretching from the northern end of the farm to the port of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.

These two railway lines are a total of 660 kilometers long, both are single-track railways, because the labor here is relatively cheap, and most of them are in the plain area, the amount of earthwork of the roadbed is not large, and there are not a few bridges, so after the investigation of Dahua domestic railway experts, the cost of each kilometer is only 900,000 Chinese yuan when the 43 tracks (carrying capacity of 43 kg/m) used by the special line railway are used. The cost of building these two special railways is about 600 million Chinese dollars.

In this way, it takes about 300 million yuan to purchase agricultural machinery and equipment, about 500 million yuan to build a water conservancy network for farms and ranches, about 600 million yuan to build two special railway lines, and about 50 million yuan to build a barbed wire fence around farms and pastures.

This money is nothing compared to the Grandmaster and his brothers who have a lot of money in their hands. 1.8 billion Chinese dollars, divided among six people, and the investment of one person is only 300 million Chinese yuan, which is much lower than the expectations of the brothers.

However, again, this money is only an upfront investment, and a lot of money is also needed for a series of work such as the purchase of seeds, the purchase of small livestock, wages during breeding and planting, fuel consumption, electricity bills, and so on. In addition, the throughput capacity of the port of Maputo is not enough, so it is necessary to build a modern terminal in the port of Maputo with an annual throughput capacity of 5 million tons, which is another investment of nearly 200 million Chinese dollars!

Therefore, after discussion, each of the brothers took out one billion Chinese dollars, and put six billion Chinese dollars in the account of the harvest farm.

There can only be more money, and it must not be enough!

Anyway, the brothers are really not bad for money now, especially the grandmaster, this billion Chinese yuan is not even a fraction of the cash he got from selling Huanong Hi-Tech shares!

PS: It should be over tomorrow, very reluctant......
