Existence:
The second period is 3431~3441
Initiators:
Ilendir, leader of the "Loyalists" of the Númenorian exiles and king of Arnoor in the Northern Kingdom, and Gilgarad, lord of Linton, high king of the Noldor elves.
Purpose: To overthrow the Dark Lord Sauron's rule over Middle-earth.
Process:
In 3431, Elendil and Gilgalad formed an alliance with Amunsur and resolved to wage a final battle against the Black Chief, the "final alliance" between the elves and the humans. In Rivendell, Elrond joins the Alliance, where they spend three years forging swords, armor, spears, and shields.
In 3434, the Confederates crossed the Misty Mountains, marched south, crossed the Anduin River, and the elves of the Green Forest and Lorraine joined the Alliance, and finally the army of Noumenor, led by Anarion. The Battle of the Dagorlad Plains broke out. The Confederates besiege Ballard.
In 3440, Anarion died.
In 3441, Gilgalad and Elendir were killed. Sauron was cut off by Essidor with the Ring's finger, and vanished instantly.
The "Last Alliance" campaign can be seen at the beginning of the first part of the Lord of the Rings.
Detailed explanation (copy Du Niang's information)
It took two years for the two kings to gather strength. Elendil and Isidor greet Gilgalad at the Amunsur watchtower in Withertop. They came to Rivendell together. In Rivendell, Elrond joins the Alliance, where they spend three years forging swords, armor, spears, and shields. Heavily armed, they crossed the Misty Mountains and swung south, crossing the Andain River, joining the alliance with the elves of Greenwood (i.e., the Woodland Kingdom) and Lorrain, and finally the army of Noumenor, led by Anarion. It is said that since the great battle between First Givenanra and Morgoth, no team has been more powerful than this army of the last alliance between elves and humans: about 100,000 men.
Eventually, the Coalition crossed the rocky plains of Dagorlad, hoping to reach Ballard. But countless orcs (about 500,000 in some cases) poured out of the Black City Gate to "greet" them. After weeks of marching, the Confederate warriors were ready to face their old enemy—the last battle, and no one would be captured. Both sides understand this and fight to the death.
