Chapter Forty-Nine: The Beautiful Oroqen Girl Amba
The wind stopped, the snow stopped, because the temperature was so low that the Chang'an off-road car could not catch fire, so it had to still park on the side of the hidden road.
The snow had reached nearly half a meter deep, and Lin Lin jumped up excitedly when she saw Ashku's snow plow.
"I saw a real dog sled, wow, that's handsome!"
I wanted to approach the four fat and strong hounds to show friendship, but I didn't expect the hounds to buy it at all, and barked at her with their teeth, so frightened that she hid behind Mu Yu with a "mom" sound, but unexpectedly, her feet slipped and she sat on the snow.
She looked cute and cute in a new red outdoor sportswear, and Ashku, who had never walked through the mountains, was stunned and shocked.
Mu Yu pulled her up with pity, but unexpectedly stepped on the ice, Lin Lin fell heavily into Mu Yu's arms, she wanted to push Mu Yu away with a red face, because she was too close, Mu Yu opened her mouth, and the spit star sprayed her face.
"You!"
Han Fei smiled, how could he let go of this rare moment, for him, every shot in the field was extremely precious.
"Cat pee, dog pee will fall off as soon as you wipe it!" Lin Lin said indignantly.
Everyone laughed.
I took everything with me, sat on the snow plow, and galloped on the path that I had already stepped on, and after a while, I saw the Oroqen buildings of five or six "oblique pillars" at the foot of a leeward mountain, which were covered with thick snow, and a big black hound wagged its tail and pounced in front of Ashku from the inside, "Wangwang" and spreading joy.
Ashku took out a piece of the beast's liver from a bag, cut it with a knife, and threw it on the snow, and the hounds scrambled to eat it.
"Brother Ashku, come back!" With a crisp laugh like a silver bell, a young girl in a roe deer skin ran out with a quacked smile, still holding a needlework in her hand, as if she was embroidering something.
"Ashku, what about the beautiful hides you promised me?"
Ashku smiled: "Amba, what's the hurry, the guests are here, hurry up and welcome the guests into the house!"
An Ba swept towards everyone, and when he saw the tall and handsome Mu Yu, his dark eyes flashed, "Welcome! It's cold outside, everyone come into the house!"
"The Oroqen people, the Evenki people, and the Daur people are all three ethnic minorities closely related to the forest in Northeast China, and they are called the "three small ethnic minorities", and they have a lot in common in terms of language, production and lifestyle. And the Oroqen are the most forest-deep ethnic groups.
Oroqen girls generally learn needlework, sew animal skin clothing, collect wild vegetables and wild fruits from an early age, and the boys follow their father into the mountains to learn hunting from an early age, and Ashku at the age of 8 holds his father and sits on horseback together. And the beagle also followed the warlike beagle into the mountains, and under the demonstration of the beagle, the beagle also learned how to pounce on its prey. The hunting skills of the Oroqen people have been passed down from generation to generation, as have hunting dogs.
If the prey hunted by the hunter was to be dragged back to the tribe in the past, and then regardless of whether each family contributed or not, it should be shared equally, and the elderly should be treated with special favor. Most likely, the hunters themselves have the least. Ashku said that in the hunting era, it was common for five or six families to form a small tribe, and the men went into the mountains to hunt, and the prey they obtained was evenly distributed regardless of whether they were old, weak, sick or disabled. This form of society is known as "primitive communism".
In his memory, everything when he was a child is still like what was sung in "Oroqen Song": "High in the Xing'an Mountains, a big forest, the forest lives the brave Oroqen, a hunting horse, a gun, roe deer and wild deer all over the mountains and can't fight endlessly......"
But with the end of the hunting era, these are slowly becoming the memories of the Oroqen and other forest peoples.
In 1994, the Oroqen Banner government began to carry out the ideological mobilization work of "banning hunting". Its purpose is to "change the backward economic system of the nation, leave a good living environment for future generations, protect endangered wild animals, and maintain ecological balance".
The last hunting ban was issued in 1996 and hunting became illegal. No further hunting is allowed in the whole flag, and the hunting rifles held by the hunters have been recovered one after another. The Oroqen had to completely transform from a hunter-gatherer to an agrarian people, and some Oroqen people were recruited as hunters – the original hunters became hunters.
Later, with the reform of the forest tenure system, the state-owned forestry company owned the property rights to every tree in the forest on behalf of the state, and private individuals were no longer allowed to cut down any tree in the forest. At this point, the forest people were basically expelled from the forest.
When he was 15 years old, Ashku's mother made him a complete set of roe deer skin clothes, including a hat, a robe, and boots. Leather boots are called "Qihami" in the Oroqen language.
Later, Ashku often wore this robe and leather clothes into the mountains to hunt. Although he was relatively short, he claimed to be a good hunter. The forest provided food and clothing for the Oroqen people. As a result of leaving the forest, many of the artisanal skills that were originally rooted in hunting, such as the processing of hides, have also changed.
The popular production method in the forest is that when the men go out to hunt and the women stay behind, they are busy "cooking the skin", which is not only to process the animal skin, but also to buy bedding for winter, sew and mend roe deer skin clothes for the family, and make roe deer horn hats and roe deer leather boots.
The roe deer is one of the easiest animals to hunt in the forest. They are the more common animals in the forest and are curious by nature, often looking back after a gunshot, so they are more likely to be hit again.
It's hard to imagine what life would be like in the forest without roe deer. This animal has made a great contribution to the daily food, clothing and shelter of the Oroqen people. I ate roe deer meat in Tuohe Township, and although it was raised in captivity, it was still very delicious.
The tendons of the roe deer can be turned into strong threads after twisting. The skin of the robe is irreplaceable in terms of warmth. The traditional clothing of the Oroqen people is mostly made of leather. Winter robes, trousers, trousers, boots, hats, gloves, socks, etc., are made from roe deer, deerskin, sheepskin, etc. Roe deer is relatively easy to obtain, and it has become an important "clothing" for the Oroqen people.
In winter, when the sky is snowing, wearing roe deer fur clothes can keep you warm. And the hunter's robe and horned hat looks like a roe deer, which can confuse the animal.
The hair of the roe deer is shorter in the summer, about 3 cm long, and in the winter it will grow to seven or eight cm long in order to keep out the cold, and it is softer and denser. Depending on the need to wear to keep out the cold, women can choose roe deer skins in different seasons to obtain different warmth effects.
Amba was sewing a roe deer fur dress for himself, waiting to decorate the collar and cuffs with beautiful lynx fur, Mu Yu understood and hurriedly took out the lynx skin, "Is this okay?"
Amba stared at him with big watery eyes in surprise, leaned over and said in surprise: "Ah, it seems that you are more powerful than Ashku, it seems that you are also a brave hunter!"
Lin Lin on the side pursed his lips and said coldly, "What kind of hunter, he likes to eat pig hands!"
