Chapter 6 The journey that began at the platform of nine and three-quarters
The next morning, Ryan's family got up early to clean up. After breakfast, both Lambert and Sally put on their coats for going out.
After loading their luggage, the three of them got into the car together. Ryan looked at Sally in the passenger seat and asked in surprise, "Mom, aren't you going to work today?"
"It's the first time in your life that you've left home to go to school, so I'm taking time off to see you off today. Lady Sally smiled.
Because it was a bit of a traffic jam on a Sunday, it was already around 10:15 when I arrived at King's Cross Station.
According to Mr. Arthur's previous reminder, they came to the middle of platforms 9 and 10.
When they arrived, Ryan realized that there were more than a dozen pillars here, and they didn't know which pillar Nine and Three-Quarters Station was in.
You can't just bump into them one by one, it would be stupid.
Fortunately, there is still more than half an hour before the departure, and they still have enough time to find the platform.
After five minutes, when everyone was starting to get a little anxious, a timid-sounding voice came from the side.
"I will remember to write a letter a week for the owl to bring to you. ”
"I hope you don't forget, Neville. An old woman sighed.
Listening to this conversation, Ryan's eyes lit up and he followed the voice. I saw a serious old lady and a round-faced boy, dressed in black robes that were out of place with their surroundings, pushing a luggage cart over.
Ryan tugged at the corner of Mr. Lalambert's coat, then pushed the cart and followed.
"Hello Madam, I'm a Hogwarts freshman. Now I want to go to the nine and three-quarters platform. But I don't know where that platform is?"
"Muggle-born freshmen?" the old lady smiled and gestured to the boy beside her. "My grandson, Neville, is also a first-year student this year, so you should all be here for the first time. Then the old lady said to the two children: "Just go straight to the ticket gate between platforms 9 and 10." Don't stop, don't be afraid, just rush in. If you're nervous, you can run. ”
The old lady then turned to the Lanes: "Muggles can't get in that platform, so you're going to have to say goodbye outside." But don't worry, I'll go in with both kids. ”
After hugging his parents and comforting his mother, whose eyes were starting to turn red, Ryan pushed the cart and rushed to the pillar where the platform was. As he approached the wall, Ryan nervously closed his eyes.
But the expected collision didn't happen, and he continued to push the cart forward. Opening his eyes, a crimson steam locomotive was parked next to the platform packed with passengers. The sign on the train reads: Hogwarts Express, eleven o'clock.
Water vapor filled the platform, and the white mist was heard with the cries of owls and the voices of people, and all kinds of cats burrowed under people's feet.
Soon, Neville and Grandma came in from outside, and the first few carriages were already full. The old lady and her two children found an empty compartment at the back of the middle of the train.
After Ryan and Neville got into the car, Mrs. Longbottom used the Levitation Charm to help them put their luggage away. After admonishing Neville, he slowly walked into the white mist and disappeared.
"Your grandma is a bit harsh, but he loves you a lot. Ryan said to Neville.
"Probably, but I'm still scared of my grandmother. ”
After a whistle, the train started. Ryan watched the trees and houses flash past the car window, and a sense of excitement welled up in his heart, knowing that this time he was no longer just a spectator of the saga, but a participant in the story.
Because Neville is a bit shy, the two get a little cold after introducing each other. Just when he was embarrassed, Ryan suddenly found that a huge toad the size of an adult's palm was struggling to squeeze out of the crack in the door.
Ryan immediately pounced on the toad and caught it, and Neville was surprised when he saw it, "I put Rifle in my bag, why did I run out again?"
Using this toad as an introduction, the two began to talk slowly. Chatting and chatting, the two found that they actually had a lot in common. For example, they are all the only children in the family, and they are not raised by their biological parents. But the people who raised them loved them.
We were chatting enthusiastically, when suddenly the door to the cubicle opened. A little brown-haired girl probed and asked, "Free here...... Ryan, you're here. ”
It turned out to be Hermione Granger, who got on the train a little late, so she couldn't find a seat in the front compartment.
After the three of them introduced each other, Hermione asked Neville curiously, "You were born into a magical family, so you must have a lot of magic, unlike us, you can only rely on this time before school starts to learn a little magic on your own." ”
"No, it's not. Neville replied, "My grandmother didn't let me touch my wand until I was 11 years old. They always thought that bad things would happen to children if they used their wands too early, and I couldn't even cast a magic spell now, and I still felt too stupid. ”
"No, it's not. Hermione and Ryan said in unison. Then Hermione made a gesture of please. Ryan cleared his throat and said, "It's not right for you to self-identify like this, I think your inferiority complex and the pressure from the outside world have affected your studies. As long as you can make a reasonable plan and stick to it, practice it repeatedly. Even if it's magic learning, it should be rewarding. ”
Ryan gestured to Hermione, "I went to the same school as her, and she was actually much better at learning than I was. But with a good study plan and repeated practice, I got better grades than her in every final exam. So keep working hard and you'll be fine. When we got to school, I thought we could help each other and get our studies up together. ”
After pouring Neville with a lot of chicken broth, Neville looked a little better than he had just been. The three of them began to exchange some of what they had seen and heard.
Ryan looked at Hermione and saw that she didn't seem to be as proud as she was on the train in the original book. Ryan thinks this may be because in the original story, Hermione came to the wizarding world alone. For an 11-year-old girl, leaving a familiar environment and a familiar person to a completely unfamiliar place will definitely feel lonely and scared. Then it is inevitable to use arrogance to add a layer of camouflage to yourself.
At noon, the three of them bought a little food from the witch who sold snacks in the car. After filling his stomach, perhaps because he got up too early in the morning and was too excited afterwards, Ryan fell asleep leaning back on his chair with a wave of sleepiness.
How long did it take for Ryan to wake up and find that the sun was about to set outside, and he should be going to school right away. Ryan saw that Hermione and Neville were asleep against their seats, and stepped forward to shake them awake.
After that, the three of them took turns changing their clothes in the cubicle, and the speed of the train slowed down, and it seemed that it was indeed coming.
"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes, please leave your luggage on the train and we will take you to the school. The voice echoed through the train.
It looks like you don't have to pull that dead suitcase yourself, which is really good news.
Is this the wizarding world? Ryan felt that although he was a human being, he was still very nervous. It felt as if the whole stomach was turned upside down.
He turned his head to see Hermione scratching her hair a little nervously, and Neville's face was starting to turn white.
The train slowly stopped, the door opened, and the three of them jumped out of the train together. I found myself on a small platform, and the students crowded into the entire platform.
Suddenly, there was a dinging in my head
- Under the influence of you, the shopkeeper, the Savior Trio team failed to meet on the train and gained 1 offset.
What? It seems that his Hogwarts life is not so peaceful.
