Chapter 9: The Gryffindor Lounge

Led by Prefect Percy, the freshmen made their way through the noisy crowd and out of the dining room and up the marble staircase. The portrait of the man in the roadside corridor whispered and pointed as they passed, and twice on the way Percy led them through the door hidden behind the sliding baffles and hanging drapery.

Ryan felt that it should be true that the Hogwarts school history said that the castle was a refuge in the Dark Ages, and that only when the castle was built as a military fortification would there be so many inconvenient barriers and hidden passages that were previously used to block the invaders.

Everyone yawned, even Ryan, who still hadn't fully developed his 11-year-old body. Otherwise, Ryan, who was good at cultivating immortals in his previous life, would not have been trapped like this at just over nine o'clock.

After dragging his heavy footsteps and climbing many more stairs, it seemed as if the staircase had been enchanted and might not be able to climb it all the time, when the person in front of him suddenly stopped.

It turns out that Peeves is making trouble in mid-air. Luckily, Percy chased him away. They continued on, and when they reached the end of the hallway, Percy told everyone that they were there.

At the end of the hallway hangs a portrait of a very wealthy woman dressed in pink.

"Password?" She said.

"Dragon scum. Percy said. I saw the painting staggering forward, revealing a circular hole in the wall. They all crawled through the holes in the wall,β€”β€” Ryan pulled Neville insideβ€”and then they found themselves in the Gryffindor common room. It is a cosy circular room, decorated in gold and red tones throughout, filled with soft armchairs. Against the wall, there is a roaring fireplace, which makes the gloomy feeling of the old castle melt away a lot.

Obviously, the freshmen were sleepy. The seniors knew this, and they didn't say much, and Percy directed the girls through one door, to their dorm, and then to the other. At the top of a spiral staircase, Ryan finds his bedroom.

Fortunately, he was not in the same dormitory as Harry, otherwise in the third grade, there was a 1/5 probability of winning the lottery at two o'clock in the morning, and the terrible single elderly man stared at the gift bag with a knife at the bedside.

In the bedroom, there are five beds with four pillars and draped with crimson flannel curtains. The luggage had already been delivered. Exhausted after a long day of train travel and dinner, everyone didn't want to talk any more and fell asleep in bed.

Because of the habit he had developed before, the next morning, Ryan woke up from his dream and found that it seemed to be a little early, and the sun had just risen. He was the first to wake up, and his roommates were still sleeping.

A first-grade timetable was placed at the head of the bed, and Ryan was a little surprised because he had never slept lightly and would wake up when someone was around. This timetable can appear at the bedside without him reacting, and it can only be said that the house-elves are indeed powerful.

Looking at the class schedule, there are a total of eight classes to be taken in the first grade. Basically, classes are held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with only astronomy classes taking place between eight and nine p.m. Seriously, this one is much shorter than the study time of a Chinese junior high school.

After washing up, thinking that there was no class in the morning, he gave up his intention of waking up his roommates and walked down the stairs to the common room.

Hermione was already sitting on a couch with a book in her hand.

"Good morning, Hermione. Ryan waved his hand. Then he sat down on a couch next to Hermione and asked, "I don't have a class this morning, but I still have to have breakfast, and it's not a good idea to skip breakfast." ”

Hermione flipped to a page of the book in her hand and pointed to its contents, "I learned from the book A History of Hogwarts. There are a total of one hundred and forty-two staircases in the castle. Some of them are wide and large, some are narrow and small, and they are wobbly, some go to different places every Friday, and some go up halfway up and a staircase suddenly disappears. ”

"To make matters worse, there are many doors that won't open for you if you don't politely ask them to open them, or poke them in the right place, and some of them aren't real doors at all, just solid walls that appear to be doors. It's hard to remember what's in what place, because everything seems to be constantly moving. The people in the portrait also visit each other constantly, and it is certain that even the armor can walk. ”

Hermione closed the book and spread out her hand: "So I can only wait here for a while now to see if any seniors can drop me by the way...... Now it's time for us to take it to the restaurant. ”

Fortunately, it didn't take long for footsteps to come from the stairs, and a girl with black hair and a twisted ponytail walked down the stairs.

Ryan immediately stepped forward to ask for help, and the senior sister, who called herself Angelina Johnson, enthusiastically reached out and asked Ryan and Hermione to follow her to the Great Hall, explaining to Ryan and them how to pass the special staircase and secret door along the way.

Finally arriving at the auditorium, she told Ryan that these things change regularly, and that if you pay attention, you can quickly remember the characteristics of these stairs.

During the meal, Ryan couldn't help but envy the Hufflepuff, as their dorm room was closest to the dining room and next door to the kitchen.

After dinner, Ryan had planned to take advantage of the lack of classes in the morning and take a walk around the castle. After all, in my previous life, as a fan of Harry Potter books, I went to Hogwarts. How can you not go to the familiar places described in the book to see them?

Unfortunately, this plan was disrupted by Hermione. She thinks that self-study before class is very important, so she decides to go to the library and sends out an invitation to Ryan.

Thinking that if he didn't go to the library, he would probably be despised by Hermione with the eyes of a scumbag, and he couldn't hold his face. In addition, the library is also an important location in the original novel. Ryan abandoned his original plan to wander around the castle and went to the library with Hermione.

The library is located on the second floor of Hogwarts Castle and has a high dome. There are thousands of bookshelves with thousands of books.

Probably because it was morning, Ryan and the others found that there were not many students in the library. Hermione sat down at an empty table, flipped through her textbook, and occasionally jotted down something in the notebook next to her.

Ryan picked up a few books that introduced the current state of the wizarding world. After all, the information I got before was not comprehensive, and the novels I saw in my previous life could only bring some first-hand work, but these comprehensive introductions to the magical world are the cornerstone of survival in this wonderful world.

A little over an hour later, it was time for Hogwarts to end its morning class. The library was filled with a large crowd of students who were busy looking up materials and writing their homework.

It was obvious that Ryan was a little irritated by the bustling environment, and he didn't bother Hermione when he saw that she was immersed in her studies. After checking out a few books from Mrs. Pince, Ryan left the library with the books in his pocket.

Ryan still didn't remember the route upstairs, but luckily, he met Nick on the way, which allowed him to make it back to Gryffindor Tower.
