"Hermione, when are you going to give up this s.p.e.w. thing?" asked Harry.
"Wait until the day when the house-elves get a decent wage and a decent working environment!" she said earnestly, shaking the roster in her hand in front of Harry, "I have a lot of supporters now, and they all think I'm on the right track. ā
Harry saw that at the top of the list were the names of himself, Hermione, Aven, and Ron.
Evan is the president, Hermione is the vice president, Harry is the secretary, and Ron is the treasurer.
This was Hermione's initial organizational structure, and there were quite a few Gryffindor students below.
Even Gabrielle's name is written on it, the first foreign member of Hermione's development.
But Harry was surprised to find that there were more names he didn't recognize, densely packed with several pages.
These are all wizards who spontaneously wrote to Hermione asking to join S.P.E.W. after seeing the newspaper reports.
The Hogwarts Wizardry and Wizardry newspaper has a special issue dedicated to the rights and interests of house-elves, which Hermione is responsible for.
The effect of the special edition gradually appeared, and at first, everyone thought that Hermione was crazy and actually had to ask for wages and holidays for the house-elves.
But as Hermione persevered in her position, more and more people began to identify with her.
In all fairness, everyone thinks that there is some truth to what Hermione said.
And very courageous to dare to say such a thing, against the ancient traditions that have been passed down for centuries in the wizarding world.
Now that the times have changed for a long time, whether it is the Ministry of Magic or the mainstream of the wizarding world, there are more and more Muggle apprentice-born wizards.
Gone are the dark days when pure-blood wizards held power and discourse.
As the biggest bad habit left over from the old system, the status of house-elves really needs to be improved.
With Hermione's efforts, this was the result so far, though there were more wizards who opposed her.
Almost every week, she receives dozens of emails with insulting words written in them.
"We now have 300 members, which is a remarkable achievement. Hermione said excitedly, writing back to her supporters, "I think it's time to take some more direct action, I don't know how to get into the school kitchen." ā
"I don't know, just ask Frey and George. Harry said, "Evan should know too." ā
Hermione was lost in thought again, and Harry sipped his butterbeer as he looked at the people in the tavern.
They all seemed light-hearted and elated, as Ernie McMillan and Hannah Abbott were exchanging cards from the Chocolate Frog with someone at the next table, both wearing badges in support of Cedric Diggory on their robes.
Just by the door, he saw Cho Chang and a large group of her Ravenclaw friends.
Harry couldn't help but wonder if he became a warrior himself, maybe Cho Chang would cheer him on......
Ron lay there, not trying to communicate with anyone else, and didn't want to talk to Harry or Hermione.
He was very bored now, in a terrible mood, and had an inexplicable sense of anxiety and fear.
Whenever the people outside saw him, they would attack him with badges or words from the newspapers.
He's had enough of that, especially as he is about to face the dragon, and Ron realizes for the first time that being a warrior isn't that good.
He didn't want to go up and be embarrassed, and he didn't have a chance unless Aven could lend him the Philosopher's Stone.
"Philosopher's Stone!" Ron murmured.
He couldn't help but think that after he obtained the Philosopher's Stone, he could also get the honors that Evan was doing now.
Honestly, it's heartwarming.
As Evan said before, each of the four founders of Hogwarts left behind a secret treasure key, the Philosopher's Stone.
Ron felt that he could get a piece of it, as well as the more heart-warming secret treasure, which might be his only chance to become a powerful wizard.
He had dreamed more than once that he had obtained those treasures by himself......
Evan and Gabrielle squeezed to the edge of the bar, and the beautiful proprietor, Mrs. Rosmerta, greeted them both warmly.
Gabrielle was choosing a drink, and Evan saw Hagrid and Kareis, posing as Professor Moody, sitting on the edge of the bar.
Hagrid had his usual glass of beer in front of him, and Keresis drank the Polyjuice Potion from Moody's curved bottle he carried.
Mrs. Rosmerta seemed displeased with this, and she kept squinting at Keresis.
Judging by her expression, she probably thought that Moody was insulting her by drinking other drinks in her tavern.
"We were just going to find you, Aven!" Hagrid said to Aven, and with a twinkle in his eyes, he leaned over and whispered mysteriously, "Tell Ron to come to my cabin at twelve o'clock in the middle of the night to find me, and remember to bring Harry's invisibility cloak, I have something to show him." ā
After Hagrid finished speaking, he straightened up and said loudly, "Nice to meet you, Aven, see you next week!"
"Good luck!" said Keresis softly, leaving with Hagrid.
Evan and Gabrielle took their butterbeer and returned to the small table in the corner to tell Harry, Ron, and Hermione about it.
"Hagrid told me to go to his cabin at twelve o'clock in the middle of the night?" Ron said in surprise, "Why?!"
"Probably because of the fire dragon. Evan replied.
Apparently, under the persuasion of Keresis, Hagrid finally made up his mind to tell Ron about it secretly.
But it's also quite possible that he was going to do it.
"I'm not going to ......," Ron said stubbornly, "there's no dragon at all. ā
"It's not a bad thing to take a look, Ron, we're all with you!" Hermione said, "Hagrid definitely wants to tell us something important about the event, even if it's not a dragon, it could be some other monster, and we need to be prepared in advance." ā
Harry agreed, and Ron muttered and fell back on.
If anything, he still has a glimmer of hope.
When everyone met Sirius, that glimmer of hope was gone.
By three o'clock in the afternoon, the five of them had left the Three Broomsticks Tavern to meet Sirius at the Screaming Shack.
At Sirius's suggestion, they met in secret.
By the time they had climbed the long slope to the tattered screaming shack, Sirius was already waiting for them, just as they had been hiding in the haunted house for a long time when they had first met last year.
Gabrielle was thrilled to see Sirius, she had read a lot about Sirius in the newspapers before.
Even more excited than Gabrielle was Harry, who hurried over and asked, "Sirius, how have you been?"
"Not bad, leave me alone!" Sirius said solemnly, "How are you guys doing?" )
