Chapter 385: On the Road (Asking for Subscriptions, Asking for Collections, Asking for Tickets)
When Ryan got up the next morning to pack up and go out, he found the whole house in chaos. Mrs. Weasley is throwing a tantrum, fearing that everyone may not be able to catch the train if they are slow.
"The main problem is Moody's. Hermione said, "The Mad-Eye is complaining that we can't leave without Stoicle Podmoor, or the guard will be one less." β
"Guards, for whom?" Ryan felt a little dizzy.
"For me, though I don't want it. Harry's tone of frustration came from behind. "I think Voldemort is lurking right now, but the Mad-Eye seems to think he's going to jump out from behind a dumpster and poison me. β
In the end, everything was finally sorted out, and the guards who should have arrived were also gathered. Everyone walked outside in the faint September sun and the weather was very nice today. It can be said that autumn is high and cool. Due to the fact that their relationship with the Ministry of Magic was completely messed up, they couldn't borrow a car, so now they had to walk to King's Cross Station.
Luckily, it's not a long journey. After a twenty-minute walk, they arrived at King's Cross Station, where everything was normal, nothing major happened, and certainly no surprise attack as Moody's had expected.
Moody had already arrived at the station at this time and helped everyone with their luggage. He wore a porter's hat that was low on his two asymmetrical eyes, and all his luggage was stacked on the trolley he was pushing. Moody whispered to everyone as he approached them that everything was fine, and then limped through the arch with the trolley.
Ryan and the others followed to the nine-and-three-quarters platform, where they removed the boxes from Moody's luggage cart one by one, and when they were about to finish moving, Fred, George, and Ginny arrived with Lupin, but fortunately everything was going well with them.
After getting on the train and saying hello to Harry, Ryan took his luggage and walked with Hermione to the front of the train. Unlike the box where they used to sit in the back, this time they had to go to the prefect's car at the front of the train to receive instructions from the president of the boys' and girls' councils, and then make their rounds of the corridor from time to time.
Coming to the prefect's carriage at the front, where the two student council presidents were already there, Ryan found that it was their acquaintance Cedric who was the president of the male student council this year, and naturally, this change was gratifying.
When the train started, the prefects arrived one after another. Among the new prefects this year, Ravenclaw is Anthony Goldstein and Padma Pettier, and Slytherin is Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson. Hufflepuff is Ernie McMillan and Hannah Abbott. After seeing Ryan and Hermione, Hannah walked over to say hello to them, and said that she hoped that the content of this year's book club would be close to the district .ls exam.
"This year's focus is definitely on that. Hermione whispered reassurance. "I spent half the summer sorting out the information about the .ls exam, and I plan to share it in the book club when school starts. β
After a few minutes of chatting, everyone arrived. The two student council presidents gave the newly elected prefects this year some information about the Hogwarts Student Council and began to arrange the work, and Ryan and Hermione were assigned to the second half of the carriages to patrol the work.
"I've heard that Slytherin and Ravenclaw prefects have always inspected the first half of the train, while Gryffindor and Hufflepuff prefects have inspected the second half of the train. Is this true?" Ryan asks Cedric about a little gossip he heard from Percy as he leaves the house.
"It's true, because the school board's box is at the front of the train, and most of the users are Slytherin students. In this case, since half a century ago, we have tried to separate people in order to avoid conflict. Cedric shrugged and said, "Of course, I think it's an outright lie that some pure-blood wizards claim that their bloodlines make them superior. I really don't understand why they would conflict with others over such lies. β
After saying goodbye to Cedric, Ryan and the others began their rounds. Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, Hermione leaned in to Ryan and complained, "As much as I hate Malfoy, at least Malfoy is good enough to be the prefect of Slytherin." But why is Pansy Parkinson, that full cow, a prefect? she's dumber than a concussed mountain monster. β
"Maybe Slytherin thinks Pansy is more representative of the girls in their house. Ryan soothed Hermione, who looked a little fried, with a joke. He could understand why Hermione was angry, both were fifth-year female prefects, and no one wanted everyone to compare themselves to some rice bucket when they thought about it.
After dealing with a few students playing frisbee with teeth in the hallway, Ryan and the others made their way to the box where Harry and Ron were. After entering the box, he saw that the people in the box looked a little angry.
"What's going on?" Ryan asked, pulling out the sandwich Mrs. Weasley had stuffed them with the morning, taking a bite.
"Don't mention it, Malfoy came to provoke him just now, and then showed off that he was now a prefect. Ginny replied angrily.
"The other Slytherin prefect is Pansy, and they'll be able to pick this kind of thing. Hermione sat down as well, taking out a crucible cake from the snack pile in her seat and eating it. "It's strange that the Malfoys aren't at the heart of the Death Eaters, why is he so active at this time, and still has the heart to provoke Harry. "Because there are only five of them in the box, everyone can say something more confidential.
"Maybe his father is now allowed to kiss the robe of the mysterious man, and he may feel that his good days are coming. Of course, it is also possible that his family and the Ministry of Magic have reached some ulterior deeds, didn't Harry say that he saw Lucius Malfoy and Fudge avoid private conversations together?"
After that, several people began to discuss the recent confrontation between Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic, and everyone was a little worried that the selection of the Defence Against the Dark Arts class professor this year would be too heavily interfered with by the Ministry of Magic. As they talked, the train continued north, and the weather was still uncertain. The raindrops pounded on the windows of the car one by one, and then the sun slouched out of its face, and soon the clouds drifted by, covering it again. Night fell, and the lights in the carriage came on.
After a holiday away from school, everyone wants to see Hogwarts Castle sooner. But it was a moonless night, and the rain-soaked windows were dirty, and all they could see was darkness outside.
"We have to change our clothes. Hermione finally said, and everyone scrambled to open the box and put on their school robes. Ryan and she carefully put the prefect badge on their chests, then looked at each other and nodded in satisfaction.
Eventually, the train slowed down, and they heard a commotion all around again, as everyone was busy putting their luggage and pets together and getting ready to get off the train. Ryan and Hermione and Harry took their leave, and hurried to the exit of the carriage to keep order. When they got into the carriage, they found that most of the students had already left the platform.
As everyone hurried to get into the carriage on a rainy day, Ryan and his friends saw Malfoy and his group of buddies, including Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy Parkinson, pushing a few timid-looking sophomores aside so they could have a carriage to themselves.
"Water and moisture resistant. Ryan told Hermione to find the car first, and he wanted to go over and say a few words alone. But by the time he squeezed through the crowd, the carriage had already left. Ryan could only cast a rain spell on the few drenched Hufflepuffs.
"This qualityβ" Hermione had found an empty carriage, and after Ryan got into the car, Hermione was a little unhappy with Malfoy's behavior. "I must find a chance to sue him, he has been wearing the badge for less than three minutes, and he is using it to bully people even more?"
"I support you on this point, and you can't let people think that Hogwarts prefects are like this. Ryan chimed in.
Because the two of them are lagging behind, there are not many people left. After waiting for a few minutes for no one to get on the bus, the carriage began to move towards Hogwarts.
