CHAPTER XVIII
Sulfona now knew that something was going on behind her back, and she resisted the curiosity in her heart and walked quickly to Tifa's side. Pen ~ fun ~ Pavilion www.biquge.info Tifa pulled her and walked a few more steps, and the two of them got into the vicinity of the bushes. This is where the two of them hid in the morning and watched Gregory. But now that Gregory is dead, Sulfona's parents are nowhere to be found. Sulfona didn't feel like she was out of the world.
"Yes...... Demons?" asked Sulfona.
Tifa pursed her lips and nodded.
She ...... It...... We haven't been spotted yet, and we're still too late to go. β
"Is it in my house?" asked Sulfur, confused, "I remember searching around the house and there was nothing in it. β
"It should be near the back wall. Tifa said, "It's some distance from where you were." β
"Because it's dark, it can't see me?"
"I don't think so. Tifa shook his head, "The demon's eyesight should be good, anyway, I don't know." We should get out of here now, and go far. β
"And where do you go?"
"Where are you going? who knows, where no one is going?" Tilfa sighed, "When I came just now, I took a look at all the intersections out of the village. Hardly anyone escaped, but I saw the ruts of the doctor's carriage, and the wheels of his carriage were peculiar, so I recognized them at a glance. He is going north, and we should be going north. There is a holy city there, and it is said that there are no demons in the holy city. β
"How can they guarantee it?" asked Sulfona.
"I don't know ......"
"Can the two of us walk to the Holy City?"
"I don't know ......"
"Are we not coming back?"
"There's no one here, what's the use of us coming back?"
Sulfona understood what Tifa meant. Even if this place were to be recreated, everyone who knew it would be dead, and it would no longer be the home of Sulfona and Tifa. Sulfona thought of this and let out a long breath.
"Let's hurry up, at least there's some hope. β
Tifa tugged on Sulfona's arm, but didn't move.
"I'd like to take something with me. β
"What?"
"......Over there," Sulfur pointed to the fence gate, "that straw hat on it, I want to take it." β
"Are you crazy? I just thought you had a little bit of a clue, why did you start doing stupid things again?"
ββ¦β¦β
Sulfona didn't answer, just shook her head silently. Tifa sighed helplessly when he saw this.
"Well, it has to be fast!"
Sulfona bent over and rejoined her yard. All she could see was the vague outline of the courtyard, and Tifa stood in the distance, looking out for Sulfona. Sulfona felt like she was walking into the mouth of a silent beast, crawling forward in the abyss. When she touched the cold courtyard door, she realized that she had only walked about ten paces away. The distance of ten steps is like a year's journey. Sulfona stood up and hooked her fingers at the straw hat on the fence. The straw hat fluttered slightly in the breeze, like a wounded rabbit. Sulfona felt a little rough touch and breathed a sigh of relief.
Now it's okay if you don't come back.
Sulfona thought so, and put her straw hat on her head. The moment the Straw Hat left the fence, Sulfona suddenly felt as if something had hit her heart hard. In front of her, the whole house seemed to come to life, grinding its teeth against Sulfona. Sulfona looked back and saw Tifa gesturing frantically at her. Instinctively, Sulfura rolled on the ground in a "walking on the road and falling" position. She turned her head again, and there was a miserable white spike stuck in the same place where she had stood. The spiked head was buried in the ground, still trembling slightly, and it looked unusually tough. If Sulfona had stayed where she was, she would have been seriously injured by now.
"Is this a demon?"
Sulfona ran away, she ran to Tifa's side, grabbed Tifa and left. The roads in the mountains are uneven, and the paths in the woods are even more branchy, so Sona picks up the smallest and narrowest paths. She could hear the faint roar behind her, and the loud sound of the demon breaking the tree. Sulfona felt her heart pound and her legs began to tremble. She hurriedly put the charm of "sitting cross-legged" on the running posture, and the tension in her heart gradually dissolved. Although her body was still a little stiff, she was just thinking about how to run to avoid the demons and how to walk to escape.
Sulfona ran through, but Tifa, who was following her, couldn't keep up. Originally, her speed was far inferior to that of Sulfur, and she had been chasing Sulfur for a long time just now, and she had no physical strength. Tifa felt as if the branches and bushes around her were spinning around her, her feet as if they were stepping on cotton, and Sulfona tugging at her wrists like iron pincers. Sulfona slowed down, but the demon's voice got closer, and Tifa's physical strength became worse and worse. What's even worse is that now that the sun has completely set, Sulfur can barely see what is in front of her because she has practiced the swordsmanship taught by Simona, but Tifa can barely see anything.
"Sulfona...... Are we going to die here?" Tifa asked in a weak voice.
"No...... No, it won't. β
Sulfona spoke comforting words, and then kept looking for a chance to escape. She suddenly felt something familiar about it. Sulfona dragged Tifa for a few steps, skirting the bushes and coming to a clearing. This was the clearing where Sulfona and Simona had been. The house that Sulfona had built for Simona was standing alone in the middle of the clearing. Sulfona hurriedly put Tifa in the house. By this time, Tifa was already sweating profusely and was gasping for breath. It is a symptom of excessive breathing caused by mental stress and the body not adapting to high-intensity exercise. There was nothing that could be done about it, but luckily there was still some water for Simona in the house. Sulfona carefully fed the water, but Tifa drank and vomited. Sulfona had no choice but to lay her flat on the ground. This is, the roar of the demon is already very close.
Sulfona tightened her belt and walked out of the hut. She picked up a twig from the ground, the one she had cut down when she was working on the house, and Sulfona was going to use it as a weapon. She squatted on the ground like a big sword, maintaining a posture of "sitting cross-legged", and her heart gradually calmed down. I don't know why, after making this pose, Sulfona can not only recover her strength, treat quickly, and even calm her inner fear. Now she also finds that her eyesight at night is gradually improving. In the dim light, Sulfona saw a dark shadow emerge from among the trees.
It was a human-like monster, but she was noticeably taller than a human. The demon was hunched, but still twice as tall as Sulfona. Its head was bare, and its mouth was full of sharp teeth. Hands and feet are also armed with claws. A pair of golden pupils widened like brass bells, and Sulfona felt that the hairs on her body were upside down. The demon walked to the clearing, and then stared at Sulfona with wide eyes. Instinctively, she waved the branch in her hand and stood in front of her. This time it just blocked the demon's claw. Sulfona couldn't even see when the demon started attacking her, and she felt a strong force hit her hand. The branch in Sulfona's hand broke into ash as if it were papier-mΓ’chΓ©, and the demon's claws finally stopped.
Sulfona sat on the ground, looking at the demon in horror. The demon opened its mouth at her, and Sulfona could clearly see the number of sharp teeth in the demon's mouth, as well as the smell that came to her face. The demon pressed his bare head against Sulfona, shaking it up and down. Sulfona tried to step back, but her body remained motionless as if it had been filled with lead. She felt as if an invisible shackle had been placed on her body in the air. This situation also appeared once when Simona forced Sulfura to learn swordsmanship. In fact, Sulfona was shocked by the demonic aura and lost the ability to act.
The demon sniffed Sulfona, shook his head, and stood up in a dull manner, as if he had lost interest in Sulfona. Sulfona felt as if her stiff body was thawing and gradually returning to her control. Just as Sulfur was about to take a long breath of relief, she suddenly noticed that the demon was shaking its huge body and walking towards the cabin she had built, and seemed to be very interested in the cabin. Sulfona was shocked when she saw it, because Tifa was now lying unconscious in the cabin. Sulfona knew that the two of them didn't have to meet this demon in the first place. I had to take the straw hat my father gave me, which led to such a disaster. Originally, it was not impossible for Tifa to run away alone, but she chose to be with Sulfona. Sulfona felt ashamed of Tifa, she always died herself, and she couldn't let the demon hurt Tifa in the slightest.
Sulfona is now defenseless, unable to stop the demons at all. I don't know where the strength came from, and Sulfur picked up a log from the ground. The log was several people tall enough for Sulfur to pick it up with both hands. This was originally used to make a house beam, but then it was felt that it was not straight enough, so it was not used. Sulfona held the log, feeling as if she was going to be crushed to the ground. She didn't care so much, and the back of the demon's head was rounded with a stick.
