In the meditation hall, the so-called running incense is also called walking incense. Running incense is not about running, but actually walking.
Ordinary people talk about "Zen sitting", but in fact, "Zen" is not just sitting, but also "walking", and when it is done, it is called "running incense".
Why do you want to run incense? It's because after sitting for a long time, you have to come down and move your body. It's not okay to sit for a long time, it's not okay to run for a long time, sitting and walking must be just right, so that it is most beneficial to hard work.
Sitting incense is very important, running incense is also very important, sitting incense and running incense are all causes to help the Tao, all in order to regulate the body and use kung fu well. If you sit for too long and don't run incense or don't run incense enough, your body's qi and blood are not smooth, and you can easily get sick.
The posture of running incense is to swing left and right, that is, the left hand swings for three points, and the right hand throws seven points.
Why is the right hand thrown and the amplitude is larger than that of the left hand? Because the running incense is going around the right, the body naturally produces a force to throw out to the left and outward, and if the right hand is thrown forward to the right, it just counteracts the outward force of the body, so that the body maintains balance. Although the reason is very simple, some people say that they are left and right, and such people know at a glance that they have not participated in the study.
The most important thing to run incense is the size of the amount, not too small, not too large.
This quantity is made up of two aspects, one is time, and the other is speed.
Regarding the time of running incense, it is generally determined according to the time of sitting incense, sitting incense is long, sitting incense is short, sitting incense is short, about two to one. After eating, it takes a certain amount of time to digest food, so it is relatively long, generally more than three quarters of an hour, otherwise the stomach will be swollen when you sit there.
Regarding the speed, after the meal, the food is digested, and at this time the running fragrance should be the slowest, and gradually get faster in the back. In general, it should be neither fast nor slow.
As for the question of quantity, in fact, we must grasp it well, and we know our own situation best. If it's too slow, go to the fast circle, and if it's too fast, go to the slow circle, or go out and take a break. There are so many people in the meditation hall that it's impossible to take care of everyone just right.
There is also a big misunderstanding about running incense, that is, "running well and sitting well".
Originally, this sentence is good, running well is not only about sitting well, but also about working hard! But the so-called "running well" should mean running just right, that is, running a small amount is not too small, which just plays a role in regulating the body. However, some people misunderstand "running well" as running too much, thinking that the more you run, the faster you run, the better.
With this misunderstanding, some vinas shouted "run well, sit well", holding incense boards in their hands to urge people to run. There are even more people who don't need to be urged, and they take the initiative to run more and run for a long time.
Of course, it's okay to run hard, but you can only run two or three laps, and if you run too much, you will run too much. When you sit down, of course, you will feel very relaxed, as if you are in good spirits, but in fact, this is an illusion, just like when you are tired from work, you will feel relaxed when you sit down and rest. In fact, the body at this time has already consumed a lot.
It would be a mistake to assume that this is a good seat.
As a result of running like this, after a long time, the body will run weak, the running will be lost, and the spirit will be tired, and the work will of course be useless!
At this point, it's too late to regret it! Why? Because hard work is based on the body!
The process of hard work itself is a process of continuous adjustment of the body and mind, from weak to strong, from poor to good, from disease to health, only when the whole body and mind are transformed in a better and better direction can we talk about the progress of the work!
If the work is good, the body must be good, and there is absolutely no bad health and good work.
If you run well, you can sit well and work hard, and if you don't run well, you will lose money, and you can't talk about hard work at all. For those who can't run well, if they can recognize their mistakes, they can still be saved, if they can't recognize this mistake, the next sentence will be difficult to say.
It's such a simple running incense, but it can lead to different results. So those who run incense are not careful!
