Chapter 19 Counting the Harvest
After returning to the Wanjie Grocery Store, the voice of the system appeared in his head.
- Introduce other world technologies to bring unpredictable evolutionary directions to the development of Plants vs. Zombies. Gain 3 offset points.
Why is it so little?Ryan frowned, this technical exchange is likely to change the direction of the development of a fifth-level world, and only 3 offset points are given, which is a little too little.
Fortunately, as Ryan's strength increased, the system gave more information on the bulletin board than before.
After reading it, Ryan realized that the reward given now was only a phase, and it was just a world shift generated by Dave, the son of luck in that world, who had just gotten the information. The next time you go to that world, you'll calculate the offset point for the changes that happened in that world.
It's a long-term task, but it's also a good idea. Now that Ryan has 25 offset points, he can find a world with a bigger harvest next time to adventure.
In addition to the most important offset, a greenhouse farm was harvested, which allowed Ryan to upgrade the planting base to a small planting base (farm) + micro base (yard). It's just enough to plant this new plant without having to eradicate the original plant to make room for the new one.
The two rows of plants on the shelves behind the counter are a good indication of the harvest.
The rows below are full, except for the original Sunshine Sunflowers, Pea Shooters, and Sunshine Mushrooms. Seven common plants from this harvest are also on display. They are:
Nutty Wall, Repeating Pea Shooter, Cherry Bomb, Tombstone Moss, Lanterngrass, Man-Eating Flowers, Water Lilies
Although they are the most basic plant species, they at least give Ryan a plant legion that can handle most of the environment.
In addition to these common varieties, three pots of advanced plants are placed on the upper shelf, including dragon grass, twin sunflowers, and machine gun peas.
Among these plants, ordinary plants still produce ten plants per week, while advanced varieties can only produce two plants a week.
On the cabinet on the side of the counter, in addition to the original golden book, the "Winter House Industrial Handbook". Now there's another black book, Crazy Dave's Guide to Growing Plants for Beginners.
Looking at these two books, Ryan decided to study them, and when he focused his mind on the two books, he found that the two books required different costs to learn quickly.
The "Winter House Industrial Handbook" requires 1 offset point to be thoroughly learned, because it is just an ordinary mechanical book with only a little bit of science fiction and a small price to learn. The "Crazy Dave's Beginner's Guide to Plant Cultivation" is a special cultivation guide for extraordinary plants, and in order to learn, there must be 5 offset points
Ryan thought about it for a while, and finally decided to study the two books together. After all, mechanical knowledge is very useful in many scenarios, and the extraordinary plant cultivation method, if you think about the herb class in Hogwarts, you know that this is a knowledge that is directly linked to power.
And the accumulated offset points are not all used to improve their own strength, otherwise they hold the offset points in their hands, but they will lead to some tragic consequences due to insufficient strength, and it will not be too late to regret it when the time comes. Therefore, it is the stupidest idea to only save the offset point and not spend it.
Ryan sat down on the only chair in the store and chose Indoctrination, which turned the offset to 19.
At this point, a light appeared on each of the two books, and then connected to Ryan's head. Ryan heard a lullaby begin to echo in his head, and in the lullaby, he slowly fell asleep.
Ryan, who was asleep, seemed to have a dream in which he dreamed that he was next to a lake. And from the colorful clouds in the sky, two streams of water flow into the lake, making a pleasant tinkling sound.
Ryan felt like he was half-lying on the soft grass by the lake and looking up at the sky, his spirit was extremely relaxed.
One of the two currents ended quickly, but the other took a long time to finish completely.
Just as he regained his composure later, Ryan felt a suction force appear above his head, and then his eyes went dark, and he woke up to find himself still sitting in his chair.
"Why doesn't it have the pinprick pain in the novel? Hasn't the transmission started yet?" he was a little puzzled, but as soon as he thought about it, he quickly realized that he had memorized the knowledge in those two books, and he only needed to practice it to fully grasp it.
"Yes, no one has ever said that the transmission of knowledge can only be obtained after the brain has been tortured. It seems that I was too worried before. But that's fine, otherwise it's not a good thing to roll on the ground every time you transmit knowledge as painfully as killing a pig. After thinking about these things, Ryan began to carefully count the knowledge in his head.
The Winter's House Industrial Handbook gave Ryan a wealth of mechanical knowledge, but he had at most repaired his bicycle before, so he couldn't see any progress in his mechanical mastery.
But "Crazy Dave's Beginner's Guide to Plant Cultivation" is different, in addition to understanding how to determine what kind of condition those plants brought out of Plants vs. Zombies should be used to determine what their condition is and how to cultivate them, it is also combined with the knowledge of herbology classes that he studied at Hogwarts before.
Ryan was surprised to find that he had integrated the knowledge of the herbal medicine class he had learned before, and it seemed that this book had helped him more than he imagined.
After roughly sorting out the information transmitted into his brain, he recalled the nervousness when the zombies swarmed, and thought in his mind: Sure enough, the effort is proportional to the gain, this time I went to the world of plants vs. zombies, although I took some risks, but the harvest was far more than the previous adventures in other worlds, not to mention the last harvest of these things, just the experience gained by using magic actual combat can be said to be very precious.
However, the crises encountered this time were all predicted in advance, so the whole adventure process was also thrilling and dangerous. But after repelling the zombie attack, the experience of being almost ambushed by the zombie in the soil counter-kills. It also made Ryan know a key point of adventure: when doing any action in the future, you must grasp the balance between safety and expected harvest, and don't pursue extreme harvest.
Finally, the equivalent of 1,000 Galleons of gold was harvested, although not very much. But considering that Harry Potter risked 1/4 of the death rate in the Triwizard Tournament and was busy for a whole semester to earn this amount, this can be considered a good gain.
After summing up the takeaways from this adventure in your heart, think that there is nothing left to deal with. Ryan stood up and looked around the shop with satisfaction, lingering on the first plant-filled shelf for a few seconds before choosing to return.
Lying back in bed, Ryan found that the time was still only an hour, which made him feel inexplicably out of time. After all, in the world of Plants vs. Zombies, he fought for a whole day, and the first battle kept him in a state of high spirits.
It also made Ryan a little insomnia, but he forced himself to close his eyes at the thought of having to go to class as usual tomorrow.
After tossing and turning in bed for an unknown amount of time, Ryan finally fell asleep in a daze.
