Chapter 307: Running for Your Life

Where there's a will there's a way

"Where there's a will, there's a way." This sentence expounds the dialectical relationship between "ambition" and "achievement": "ambition" can "achieve something", and in order to "achieve something", we must "have ambition"; if there is no "ambition", "thing" will not be achieved.

This sentence is very reasonable, and it can quite say the true meaning of "it will be done". Look: During the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu Yue competed, Wu Sheng was defeated, and King Goujian of Yue became a prisoner. But he was unwilling to give in, determined to take revenge, and finally defeated the state of Wu, leaving behind the eternal beauty of "lying on the salary and tasting the guts"; the famous mathematician Hua Luogeng faced the reprimand of "no mathematical mind" when he was a child, and established his ambition, although he did not even have a junior high school diploma, but eventually became a giant in the field of mathematics...... Many politicians and scientists in ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, have proved the correctness of the saying "where there is a will, there is a way" with their own actions.

But can all "aspirants" "make it happen"? Not necessarily. Because there are certain conditions between "having aspirations" and "achieving things" that play an important role, without these conditions, even if "there is an ambition", it is difficult to achieve things. The key of these conditions are the following:

First, the "aspirations" of those who have aspirations should conform to objective reality. That is to say, the "aspirations" set by a person cannot be utopian dreams or fantasies that are divorced from objective reality; when the "aspirations" contradict or divorce from the objective scientific laws, the "things" will never be "accomplished." For example, there were people who aspired to develop a perpetual motion machine and spent a lifetime of time and energy on it, but they never developed it. The reason is very simple: His will does not conform to objective laws. The knowledge of physics tells us that when a machine is running, mechanical energy is converted into other forms of energy, and the loss of energy in this process is impossible to avoid. Therefore, the development of the "ambition" of perpetual motion machine will never become a reality. It can be seen that meeting the requirements of objective reality is a necessary prerequisite for the success of the cause of "aspirants".

Second, the "ambition" of those who have aspirations must be the "constant aspirations" that will never change, and they must be put into unremitting and diligent efforts. That is to say: If you cannot aspire to be a scientist today, a writer tomorrow, or a politician in a short time, you will be determined to do so often, and your "work" will certainly be difficult to accomplish; your ambition must always be directed at one goal, and no matter how the outside world changes, no matter what setbacks you encounter, you must "never change your mind." This is even more emphasizing: with the "constant will" that will never change, there must also be actions that will never change. In order to realize one's aspirations, one must not be afraid of difficulties, sarcasm, or setbacks or failures; we must continue to work hard, continue to explore, consistently open our diligent feet, and continue to trek the tortuous mountain road leading to success. Only in this way, and only in this way, can "where there is a will, there is a way". Shi Ma Qian, a great historian and great writer in ancient China, was determined to write a historiographical work that was different from others when he was young. To this end, he not only devoted his life to the vast historical books, sorted out the fragments and fragments, traveled with the people, and collected rich historical materials, even after being imprisoned and tortured by the palace, he did not go down, but became more determined in his ambitions, and became more and more frustrated, inspired by the lofty ideal of "writing history", he wrote diligently, and finally wrote a masterpiece of more than 3,000 years in China from Xuanyuan to the Han Dynasty in his later years - "Historical Records", which is the "swan song of the ages", which shows that there is "constant ambition" and unremitting hard work, which is " The most important condition is to make it happen.

In short, "where there is a will, there is a way", it does not mean that if there is a will, it will definitely be achieved, but only to explain the dialectical relationship between "ambition" and "achievement": those who have no ambition will definitely achieve nothing, those who have ambition and detachment from reality will not succeed, those who have the will that conform to reality but do not have "perseverance" will not succeed, and those who have "perseverance" that conform to reality without unremitting diligent efforts will not achieve anything. Only by organically integrating the above conditions can "things be done".

Young friends, the flowers of success are ready to be offered to everyone who has aspirations, but can you get it? It's up to you.
