Chapter 1369: The Brewing of the Living Hell Potion

What the hell was the previous owner of this book up to?

Harry looked down to make out the ingredients of the potion, which had been crossed out and made it difficult to identify.

It took him a long time to read it, causing him to be much slower than the others.

When he returned to his cauldron with what he needed from the storage cupboard, most of the students began to work on the second or third material. Hermione, who was so fast, had already begun to put the processed materials into the crucible, and the crucible in front of her was already filled with pale blue steam.

Next to Hermione, Evan was unhurried with the materials, and Harry noticed that he was still looking up at himself from time to time.

Eyes met, and Evan smiled at him.

Harry thought to himself that the way he was in a hurry and at a loss must have looked funny. But Evan too, there was still time to look around at what the others were doing, and the eyes of the others were eager to leave their potions, and everyone was very focused, all wanting to get Slughorn's reward.

Harry wasn't as laid-back as Aven, and he began to chop valerian roots as fast as he could.

This process lasts about three minutes, followed by the sleepy beans, which are to be sliced.

This is a difficult herb to handle, with a smooth surface, hard texture, and small size that make them hard to work with.

In Harry's opinion, it would take five minutes to slice them all into thin slices at the earliest.

He admired Hermione because it didn't take her five minutes to process the valerian root and the sleepy beans.

At this point, Slughorn began to step down from the podium and walk among the students, walking past the Slytherin table.

"Sir, I think you must know my grandfather, Abraxas Malfoy?" asked Malfoy immediately.

His voice was not low enough for most of the classroom to hear what he was saying.

"Yes!" Slughorn said, without looking at Malfoy, "I'm sad to hear that he's dead, but that's to be expected, and he's suffering from dragon plague syphilis at that age......"

Dragon plague syphilis, what disease is this?!

The vast majority of people, including Evan, have a question mark on their faces.

But it was clear that Malfoy wanted to curry favor with Slughorn.

He probably hoped that Slughorn would look the other way for him, or treat him with the same special treatment as Snape did.

But Slughorn didn't want to have anything to do with Malfoy at all, and he was probably going to be disappointed!

If he wanted to win that potion of blessings, he could only rely on his own ingenuity.

Evan withdrew his gaze and placed the cut herbs in the cauldron, turning his head to continue observing Harry.

Harry also turned his attention away from Malfoy back to the sleepy beans in front of him, he tried to cut them, it was harder than he expected, he was slow and uneven, after cutting a bean, he looked down at the textbook to see if he had slice both the sleepy beans.

The mess on the top of the book was so infuriating that he had to struggle to make out the instructions from the scribbled words of the original owner of the textbook. What's even more annoying is that this guy doesn't know what to think, and he doesn't agree with what the book says about cutting the sleepy beans into slices.

The guy crossed out the row and wrote another note on the side: squeezing with the side of a silver knife makes it easier to juice than slicing.

It took Harry a great deal of effort to read the words, and by this time Hermione was already gently stirring the liquid inside the crucible with her wand, and her potion was already very close to the "well-blended, tan liquid".

The book says that this is the ideal state when the potion is halfway through.

Harry was hesitant to spend a lot of time slicing the sleepy beans according to the normal method, or to follow the method modified by the original owner of the textbook and use a silver knife to accumulate the sleepy beans.

No matter how you look at it, the latter is much simpler.

"Hermione, can I borrow your silver knife for it?"

Hermione nodded impatiently, her eyes not taking off her potion for a moment.

She was a little irritable, the book said that the potion should have turned a pale snow blue by now, but her pot was still dark purple.

"What's wrong?" asked Aven, leaning over to Harry's side.

It looks like Snape made changes to how he handled Sleepy Beans, and whether those changes actually worked can be verified now.

He didn't care at all about his potions, and he didn't seem in a hurry.

Because, according to the normal process, it takes at least fifteen to thirty minutes to boil the medicine to allow the sleepy beans inside to play left and right, and continue to the next step, the length of time depends on the thickness of the sleepy bean slices.

Just because Hermione is fast now doesn't mean she'll finish it sooner than others.

There will be a relatively long waiting period for this, unless Snape does invent a new way to deal with Sleepy Beans.

"The previous owner of the book said that squeezing from the side of the sleepy bean with a silver knife would make it easier to juice than slicing. Harry said, his finger sliding over the small line in the margins of the textbook, "I'm not sure ......"

He used a silver knife to squeeze the sleepy beans, but unexpectedly, the beans immediately oozed a large amount of juice.

If you hadn't seen it with your own eyes, you wouldn't have believed that there was so much water in the shriveled beans.

Sure enough, the revisions in the textbook were useful, and this textbook was left behind by Snape.

Harry put the drowsy bean juice into his cauldron, and the potion immediately turned the pale snow blue of the book.

To be honest, he was amazed.

You know, at this time, the liquid in Hermione's crucible is still that dark purple.

Harry, who had been the slowest progresser, became the fastest because of this change.

"Oh my God, this ......" Harry's eyes widened, and his anger at the previous master vanished.

The sudden change made him a little excited, as if he had suddenly won the jackpot.

"Be quiet, you don't want the whole class to know about it, if you have anything to say after class, now, do what the original owner of this book said. Evan said, motioning for Harry to be quiet, and now that he had verified the authenticity of the textbook, he decided to do the same.

Although he had already put the cut Sleepy Beans into the crucible, and the potion inside had begun to turn that dark purple, it was impossible to start over, but it was still possible to save it with a little addition of the Sleepy Bean's juice.

Evan squeezed a sleepy bean and carefully added the juice to it. He slowed down, keeping an eye out for the potion's changes, and when the potion was about to begin to change color, he paused and waited for the original slice of the sleepy beans inside the crucible to take effect.

Harry had already begun to squint and read the next note, which said he had to stir counterclockwise until the potion was as clear as water.

According to the notes added by the previous master, he should stir it counterclockwise seven times and then then clockwise...... 21010
