Compare the two

In the last chapter, I wrote about the Six Flowers Formation and the Mandarin Duck Formation, many book friends said that I exaggerated the power of the Mandarin Duck Formation, for these I said a few words, the Six Flowers Formation was created by Li Jing, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, he attaches great importance to the use of the formation, he is not only familiar with various ancient formations, but also according to the actual combat, the creation of the Six Flowers Formation, the retreat formation and other formations.

The six-flower formation is like the formation of "six flowers". Usually, the Chinese army is in the center, and the six armies of the front army of the right wing, the right army of the right wing, the right Yu Hou army, the left Yu Hou army, the left wing left army, and the left rear army are outside.

According to the records of "Li Weigong's Questions and Answers" and "Wu Bei Zhi", the Liuhua Formation has five formations: square formation, circular formation, curved formation, straight formation and sharp formation, and each of the five formations has five variations, with a total of 25 variations, and the commander arranges different formations according to different enemy situations and terrain attacks and defenses.

Taizong said: "I and Li Ji discussed the soldiers, and they said more with Qing, but the results are not investigated.

Jing said: "The minister's book Zhuge Liang has eight Chen Fa. Big Chen Bao Xiao Chen, big camp Bao Xiao Ying, corner hook connection, twists and turns. The ancient system is like this, and the minister is the reason for it. Therefore, the square of the outer painting and the circle of the inner ring are six flowers, which are commonly called. ”

Taizong said: "What does it mean to be round inside and outside?"

Jing said: "Fang is born in the positive, and the circle is born in the strange." The square is so momentary, and the circle is decorated with its rotation. It is set by the number of steps on the ground, and the line is decorated with the sky. If the steps are fixed, the changes will not be chaotic. Eight Chen is six, the old law of Wuhou. ”

Taizong said: "Draw a square to see the step, and point the circle to see the soldiers." Step teaching foot method, military teaching techniques, convenient hands and feet, thinking too much.

Song Shenkuo's "Mengxi Supplementary Writing Magazine": "After the wind is eight formations, the general holds Qi, and is in the Chinese army, and the Chinese army is also the ninth army. Tang Lijing was difficult to divide the Ninth Army with a small number of soldiers, and restructured the Liuhua Array, and merged the Chinese Army into the Seventh Army. According to the Ninth Army is the method, and the Seventh Army is the circle method. ”

"History of the Song Dynasty: Bingzhi IX" contains: The Yellow Emperor began to set up eight formations, and the defeat was especially Zhuolu. Zhuge Liang made eight arrays on the top of the Yufu flat sand, and the base stone was eight lines. Jin Huan Wen saw it and said: "Changshan snake potential. "This is the formation of the Ninth Army. To Sui Han captured the tiger well understood his law and gave his nephew Li Jing. Jing encountered a long period of turmoil, and there were many generals and ministers who knew it, so they built a six-flower array to change the law of the nine armies, so that the world could not know it.

That is to say, the Six Flowers Array evolved from Zhuge Liang's Eight Formations, and the basic formations are horizontal formations and vertical formations.

The horizontal formation is a combination of seven army soldiers, divided into two echelons, the front is the war team, the rear is the garrison, the crossbowman in each team is in the front archer, and then the order of the infantry is arranged in echelons, the horse army is in the back of the pair, the garrison is left and right, and the riders are dismounted and standing. Listening to the sound of drums, crossbowmen and archers fired arrows one after another, and the infantry and horse armies engaged in battle in turn.

The vertical formation is the column formation, and when it cannot be lined up into a horizontal formation, the vertical formation is used. The formation is as follows: crossbowmen, archers and strikers are mixed together, with each other leading forward, and the rear is jumping and odd soldiers, and the two garrisons are facing each other on both sides. When attacking, they will engage in battle in turn according to the method of horizontal formation. The commander arranges different formations according to different enemy conditions, terrain attack and defense, etc., that is to say, the Liuhua Array is still inseparable from Zhuge Liang's eight formations, and the marching array is relatively cumbersome, and it is not easy to master, although it is very powerful, but it is not unbreakable.

Li Jing explained the difference between his own six-flower array and Zhuge Liang's eight-array diagram, the principle remains the same, but the formation has changed, Li Jing will Zhuge Liang's nine arrays, simplified into seven arrays, six phalanxes on the periphery, and the center combines the original three arrays into a circular array, because Zhuge Liang's eight-array diagram is controlled by the central commander zhì's odd soldiers to support in different directions The path is different, which requires the commander to have a high degree of adaptability, can accurately estimate the different times used by the squads to support each side, and arrive at the main soldier phalanx in all directions, so as to accurately formulate the next command。

The odd soldiers controlled by the commander in the center of the Six Flowers Array are in a circle, and the time it takes to meet the main soldiers on the periphery from any point in the circle is the same, so the difficulty of controlling the troops is greatly reduced, and the commander does not need to calculate the time difference between them, because the time for them to arrive at the periphery is the same. This kind of formation enables some commanders who are not at a high level and are not quick to react to make the Six Flowers Array exert its due power, which greatly reduces the "minimum configuration" of Zhuge Liang's Eight Formations for the level of commanders.

In terms of difficulty, the six-flower array greatly reduces the control requirements of the arrayer, but in terms of power, it is slightly inferior to the eight-array diagram. In modern terms, the Six Flowers Formation only made some changes to Zhuge Liang's Eight Formation Diagram!

The relative mandarin duck formation is that after firearms are widely used on the battlefield, the lethality and destructive power of weapons have been significantly improved, and the large and dense battle formation is difficult to meet the needs of combat. Qi Jiguang, a military general of the Ming Dynasty, founded this formation according to the characteristics of many hills and ravines, rivers and canals, narrow roads, and overseas Chinese operations in the southeast coastal area. It is named after the shape of a mandarin duck.

Before Qi Jiguang, what was valued in the army was personal martial arts, and soldiers who could wield weapons like flying were heroes in the eyes of the public. Boxers, thugs, salt lords, and even monks and Miao people from all over the country were recruited into the army. It was only after they had been repeatedly defeated by organized pirates that the authorities realized that the success or failure of a battle was not entirely determined by individual martial arts. When Qi Jiguang was training this new army, in addition to requiring the soldiers to be skilled in technology, he also paid full attention to the coordination and cooperation of various weapons in the small unit, and each infantry squad was equipped with both long and short weapons. The spear, which is more than 12 feet long, is an effective weapon of attack when engaged, but its limitation is that it must be kept at a considerable distance from the enemy. If the enemy cannot be stabbed within range of the barrel of the gun, the weapon is immediately wasted. Therefore, Qi Jiguang made the following configuration for an infantry squad: 1 captain, 1 man, and 10 soldiers. Four of the ten warriors were armed with spears as the main force of the attack. In front of it are four more soldiers: the soldier on the right holds a large rectangular pentagonal rattan plaque, and the soldier on the left holds a small round rattan plaque, both made of rattan. Later, two soldiers held a "wolf bamboo", that is, a large bamboo with branches and leaves, about three feet long. After the pikemen, two soldiers carried "palladium". "Palladium" is a mountain-shaped, made of iron, seven or eight feet long, and a rocket is placed in the recess at the top, that is, an arrow tied to a blast, and it can be charged into battle after it is ignited.

This kind of weapon configuration, coupled with the small number of people, easy to move, both long and short, offensive and defensive, is really surprising in ancient times when unilaterally required formations to highlight various different uses. But it's very useful when defending against foreign enemies of unknown depth. Therefore, when dealing with the Japanese invaders, they have never been defeated.

The main achievements of the Qi family's army against the Japanese:

Battle of Huajie in Taizhou: 308 beheaded, 2 beheaded, the rest drowned and unbeheaded are unknown, more than 5,000 people were rescued, and Chen Wenqing and three others were sacrificed.

Baishuiyang Battle: Comparison of our enemies: 1,500 against more than 2,000, completely annihilated more than 2,000 Japanese soldiers [including hundreds of coercion], beheaded 344 people, captured 5 Japanese heads alive, rescued more than 1,000 ordinary people, and sacrificed Chen Si and three others.

Battle of Changsha: Eliminate 3,000 Japanese invaders, rescue more than 1,200 people, and behead not much, this battle is mainly to rescue the people.

In the battle of crossing the sea on Hengyu Island in Fujian, more than 1,000 Japanese were eliminated, 348 were beheaded, 29 were captured, more than 800 civilians were rescued, and 13 people including Chen Wenbiao were sacrificed.

In the battle of Niutian, thousands of Japanese robbers were defeated, 688 were beheaded, no one of them died, and 954 civilians were rescued.

In the battle of Lindun, about 3,000 Japanese were burned and drowned, 960 were beheaded, 26 people were captured, and 2,120 civilians were rescued.

In the battle of Getang in Fuqing, more than 300 Japanese were eliminated, more than 150 were beheaded, and 20 people were sacrificed themselves.

In the battle of Pinghaiwei, 2,622 were beheaded, more than 3,000 people were rescued, and 16 people including Jin Yu were sacrificed.

In the battle of Xianyou, more than 10,000 Japanese were defeated, more than 1,000 Japanese were killed, 498 were beheaded, one was captured, more than 3,000 people were rescued, and 24 people including Tong Ziming were sacrificed.

In the battle of Wangcangping, nearly 10,000 Japanese were defeated, 177 were beheaded, and 3,000 people were rescued, but none of them were killed.

In the battle of Cai Piling, he defeated more than 7,000 Japanese soldiers, killed more than 1,000 people, beheaded more than 160 people, and sacrificed 31 people himself.

The Qi family army was sure to win every battle, and the Qi family army killed about 130,000 Japanese invaders in total, while it lost less than 1,000 of its own. In fact, many of them were Chinese pirates. Although the Japanese are powerful, they can only be killed in front of Qi Jiguang's mandarin duck array.

After Qi Jiguang was transferred to Jimen, he created another tactic for the Mongol cavalry. Defeat the Doyan invasion and capture its leader alive. After that, he moved to Liaodong and inflicted heavy losses on the Tatar cavalry. It shows the power of this formation, I design the two formations to duel here, not to say that the mandarin duck formation must be much more powerful than the six-flower formation, but from the creation of the two formations, I personally prefer to be with Qi Jiguang's mandarin duck formation (book friends who like Li Jing, don't spray me!)

Of course, the purpose of doing this is nothing more than to let the protagonist win this competition, so as to pave the way for the later plot, and is about to say the advantages and disadvantages, Xiaojing asked himself if he is not an expert in formation research, so he will not comment!
