Chapter 19: Strange Potion
This night, Link slept very soundly.
He even had a dream.
In the dream, he became a powerful wizard very smoothly, and married a beautiful wife, and the two were happily married, with a pair of lovely dragon and phoenix fetuses.
Because he inherited the family business, Link didn't have to worry about money at all.
But in order to kill time, he still started his old profession and set up a detective agency, specializing in selecting some interesting events to investigate.
It's simply Link's ideal life, without much turbulence, but it's also not as calm as a pool of stagnant water.
Because the dream was so real, Link was even in a dazed state when he woke up.
But the bitter taste in his mouth that had not yet dissipated quickly reminded Link of what had happened before.
Slammed his mouth, and Link's originally hazy eyes instantly became sharp.
He rolled over and bounced off the couch, his right hand instinctively touching the place where the wand had been inserted in his waist, but it was empty.
"Are you looking for this?"
Snape's deep voice sounded slowly, and Link heard the sound only to see that Snape was boiling another pot of potions next to the large workbench, and Link's wand was now unharmed in his hand.
"What did you give me a drink!?"
Link questioned loudly, his hands still groping back and forth on his body as he spoke, fearing that the unknown potion would have some terrible consequences.
Thankfully, there wasn't anything more out of him.
"Against the professor, Hufflepuff deducted 5 points. Snape said indifferently, "As for what I'll give you to drink." Rest assured, it's just a special tranquilizer. ”
"Tranquilizer?"
Link's brow furrowed.
Since he had read the first and second grade potions textbooks as a whole, he knew what a tranquilizer was.
Unlike the Muggle world, the tranquilizer here is made entirely from various herbs refined through Potions.
But the effect of both is actually similar, both have the effect of calming the excitatory nerves.
'Judging by the reaction after drinking the potion, Snape's statement is indeed credible, but is it really necessary for him to drink such a thing? besides, what Snape just said is a special tranquilizer, right?'
With this in mind, Link continued to ask:
"What's so special about it?"
"It's special in that it can make your head made entirely of swill look more like a normal person, and it also has the ability to recover fatigue and improve your physical fitness!"
"If that's good, why do you want to make it for me?"
"You think it's what I want to do, and if it weren't for your mother's sake, I'd be wasting my time with you?"
Snape said impatiently, and at the same time divided the potion from the cauldron into two cups.
But this time he drank one of his own, and then handed another one to Link.
"Drink it up!"
"What is this!?"
"Hunger for nutrition!" said Snape with a cold face, "I remember I explained everything to you last year, why are you asking?
Link didn't answer Snape's question, he just silently stayed away from the steaming potion.
Snape was not yet free from suspicion of using him for human experimentation, and he would not drink any potions he had made if he killed Link.
Seeing this, Snape did not continue to insist, he casually took out a piece of parchment from his robe, and threw it into Link's hand along with Link's wand and said:
"If you don't want to drink, go quickly!"
"Wait......"
Link wanted to continue asking something, but before he could say anything, a huge force appeared from behind him, grabbed him and moved him out of the office.
"Bang dang!"
The stone door of the office was tightly closed, and Link wanted to call the door, but no matter how much he slapped and shouted, there was no reaction from inside the stone door.
In desperation, Link had no choice but to give up the idea of continuing to find Snape.
And it wasn't until he left the basement at this time that Link realized that it was already dark outside.
And he hadn't felt it when he woke up before, and after a burst of slamming the door, Link suddenly felt a little hungry in his stomach.
Now he understood why Snape was letting him drink the nutrients, and he was afraid that he would be hungry!
But Link doesn't regret it, after all, it's too dangerous to drink other people's potions.
With a sigh, Link flipped out the parchment Snape had given him before leaving.
I was surprised to find out that this was actually a permission for night travel!
Not only does it bear Snape's signature, but it also has a strict deadline for the night tour, meaning it will be invalid after tonight and cannot be reused.
And its appearance also proves that Link really slept in the office for a long time before, at least past the curfew time at Hogwarts.
Looking back at the closed stone door, Link walked briskly into the hallway, took out the diary from the space bag he was carrying, and leaned against the window to look through the moonlight outside, which was still bright.
Now his priority was still to find out what kind of medicine Snape was giving him, and since the other party had explained it to him before, Link believed that the original owner's diary should also have a corresponding record.
Ten minutes later, Link finally found a record of the potion in the middle of his diary.
The general information on it is not much different from Snape's, and the description of the appearance, texture, and taste of the potion is identical, but there is a big difference in the efficacy of the potion.
The original owner soon experienced drowsiness, auditory hallucinations, palpitations, rapid heartbeat and other adverse reactions after drinking the potion, but Link just slept beautifully!
And it's a good quality of deep sleep! One thing to say, Link was tired after taking Transfiguration and Potions classes, but now he is in great spirits, and even his mind is much clearer than when he was in a normal state!
This phenomenon fits perfectly with Snape's description of the effects of the potion.
But how to explain the adverse reactions of the original owner?
Puzzled, Link put the journal away.
Since the diary couldn't solve his doubts, he had to go to Madam Pomfrey to check his body.
Judging from his reading of the original book and what he has been exposed to in the past few days, Madam Pomfrey is definitely a true medical practitioner who truly loves students and makes it her responsibility to keep them safe.
If even someone like her wasn't willing to tell the truth, then there was no need for Link to continue investigating.
Since Link hadn't learned the magic of lighting yet, he simply took out another kerosene lamp from the space bag and started lighting it.
But just as the kerosene lamp was lit, Link felt his calf being touched by something!
