Verification is the most time-consuming, and one of the most maddening things is that verification is only falsifying, which means that I can only guarantee that the errors I have verified are wrong. For example, for a 32-bit adder, you randomly verify many sets of additions without any problems. So do you dare to 100% guarantee that your adder is fine? You don't dare! Because you haven't gone through every set of additions, you can't do it, and as for why you can't do it, you can calculate the time yourself. Of course, the situation is not so bad, and we have some means such as formal verification to ensure the probability that it is correct. The final output of these two steps is a comprehensive circuit netlist, which is used for physical implementation.
Actually, the synthesized circuit netlist is only a theoretical result. Generally speaking, after the circuit netlist of the theoretical results is released, the physical implementation and verification will be carried out. There are generally no major problems in the circuit netlist from the theoretical results, but in terms of power consumption, heat dissipation, process deviation, design convergence, etc., it is certain that the first dozens of versions, hundreds or even thousands of versions must be modified.
And this is not the biggest problem, the biggest problem is that there is no way to achieve physical verification in China, and the embargo of high-end lithography machines, plasma etching machines and other high-precision machines, no one in China can really verify the product.
