It is reported that since 2016, our province has investigated and dealt with a number of major online pyramid marketing cases such as Shouguang Water Cube, Qingdao Dongfang Yijia, Weifang Lele E-commerce, Nanjing Guotong, etc., and transferred the extraordinarily large network pyramid marketing case of Feifan International Company to the public security organs.

In March 2016, five cities, including Zaozhuang, Dongying, Tai'an, Rizhao and Laiwu, were identified as the first batch of MLM-free cities in our province; In December, 9 cities, including Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo, Yantai, Weifang, Jining, Linyi, Binzhou and Heze, were identified as the second batch of MLM-free cities.

In principle, the cities that have been identified as non-pyramid schemes shall be reviewed once every two years, and shall be revoked and notified in a timely manner if they do not meet the creation standards due to problems.

It has been learned that the so-called cities without pyramid schemes refer to cities that have severely cracked down on and strictly guarded against illegal and criminal pyramid schemes, basically eliminated pyramid schemes that gather in the form of crowds in front of the society, and significantly enhanced the people's awareness of prevention.

In cities without pyramid schemes, pyramid scheme cases are investigated and dealt with in a timely manner, there are no major pyramid scheme cases, and there are no vicious public security and criminal cases caused by pyramid schemes; There are no large-scale pyramid marketing personnel living together to engage in pyramid marketing activities; There is no blind spot in the monitoring of MLM activities, and no residents gather in the local area or go out to participate in MLM.

However, the current situation in cracking down on pyramid schemes is still very grim, and the illegal and criminal activities of pyramid schemes, especially network pyramid schemes, have not yet been comprehensively and fundamentally curbed.

Shandong Province will intensify efforts to prevent pyramid scheme propaganda and clean up and block information involving pyramid schemes, requiring Internet platforms to strengthen the management of forums, post bars, blogs, microblogs and other sections, strengthen content review, regularly clean up and remove information suspected of pyramid schemes on websites, and carry out necessary internal processing such as warnings and account bans on publishers, so as to put an end to suspected pyramid scheme information.
